Author's Note:

For those of you who have not read the original 'Ballad of Mulan', there are many differences between it and the Disney adaptation. I mentioned this before in the foreword, however, I thought I should elaborate.

The original storyline has no romance or general that Disney's Mulan falls in love with. The only theme of love in the story is her love for her father that leads her to fight in his place. However, I wanted there to be male characters in this story, thus, I have used Disney's adaptation and another Chinese adaptation for ideas on how to involve them in the story. In other words, although this will mainly be based off the original tale, there will still be a hint of romance in it.

This is also inspired by the song: Time Boils The Rain.

Hey guys, I'm this fic's new coauthor! The original author has done a great job and I can only hope to match up to it! So I'm asking for you guys to comment your opinions on how you want the story to continue here, so I get fresh ideas!
Do you guys want a complete revamp, or to add on to the original chapters, or to leave the original untouched and continue

Chapter 1: Yo, I'm writing a Mulan fic with Kris as the lead so I searched Mulan on AFF to see if there were any fics of the story, and literally the only one to pop is yours. So I just wanted to leave you a comment to let you know that even though I won't be posting my story for at least a month, I'm not trying to steal your idea. I even wanted to name it Hua Mulan that way it wasn't just one word, but you already did that too. I feel so awkward now lol. If you feel uncomfortable with my story being so similar to yours, I can change the lead from Kris to Tao and I planned to deviate from both the original ballad and the disney version quite a bit anyway, so I don't think mine would be too much like yours. I just don't want you to feel like you were plagiarized or anything~
