Misconception

Description

They never expected things to go that way.

She met him, he ruined her.

He met her, she changed him.

Foreword

What day are we today ? What time is it actually ? She couldn't answer.
Where was she ? What was she doing here ? She knew it. Oh hell yes, she knew it really well.

In one of those dark alleys that you would usually see in movies, she was standing. Right in the middle, hands stained with blood. Fresh blood. Hisarrow-10x10.pngblood. Her shirt was also taint with that particular red color, but she didn't give a about it. It was only a piece of fabric.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Behind her, in one of the corner where not any hint of light could appear, you could discern a figure lying on the floor. Was it a man ? Or maybe a woman ? As you would slowly getting closer to it, you could notice that the body shape was likely to be a man's. Broad shoulders, muscular arms, and what seemed to be a well toned torso... Why was he in that pityful state ?
He knew too much.
The girl never thought about hurting him in the first time. She didn't want to do it. But who was she to discuss orders ? She was just part of the "Staff",  as they liked to refear themself to.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Curiosity killed the cat. It's a shame but that's reality.

She stood there, in front of the dead body. Staring at it. Despite his well build body, she guessed that he was still in his twenties. She let out a long sigh.

Was she regretting her actions ? No.

As heartless as it seems, she couldn't be... She didn't have the right to.
Smoothly, she kneeled down, resting her cold hand on his face.

"May your soul rest in peace." She muttered quielty before standing and search in her leather jacket's pocket for her device.

She dialed his number and waited till the second ring before hanging up. They didn't need words. He knew the task was complete and only had to clean the mess after her. Like a cat, graceful and silently, she walked without glancing back. Her destination still unsure in her head.

Did she had to go to the headquarter ? Probably.
Will she ? This was a different question.

She decided to head home, suddenly feeling tired. It had been along day. She estimated the road to last around twenty minutes till her bed. She let out an other sigh. It's not like she could fetch a cab. The streets were desert. Nobody dared to take a step outside. It was dangerous at night, well, that's what mothers would tell their child. A mother...

Without her realising, she arrived in front of her appartment. Without making any sound, she traveled till her door, taking her device in her hand. She scrolled through her messages, waiting for a particular one to show up. She didn't saw it, but an other one instead. And it did piss her off. The only thing she managed to say was :
