FOREWORD

"Mingyu what the hell is this?" Mingyu's attention did not leave the screen and continued playing his video game. He knew why his dad disturbed him again.

"Young man, you do not ignore me when I'm talking to you." Mr. Kim repeated with a stern voice but Mingyu didn't budge so he had no choice but to unplug the game.

The young man stared at the now turned off screen and sighed, finally facing his dad, "What is it again?" he knew but he asked nevertheless.

His dad was holding a paper slightly green in colour, his credit card bill looking a little bit thick in his opinion. "This."

"Ah! My card bills, what else?" He answered sarcastically and just shrugged before standing up from the the floor and flopped down his comfortable bed.

"Well? Why am I seeing too much zeros here?"

"Ah, there's this new, rare set of video game online. Bought it. Got scammed" Mingyu said as a matter of factly. Stretching his neck from side to side, he closed his eyes and tried to sleep.

"Kim Mingyu, I am sure that I'm not mistaken. You are 20 years old already. When are you going to take things seriously? How many times do I have to tell you not to spend so much in video games?" Mr. Kim's complaints were ignored by his son's deaf ears. Instead of actually listening to what his dad said, he took his phone and browsed on, yet again, another online shop.

"You know what, I think I have the perfect solution to fix your attitude and irresponsibility. We'll talk once I get home. You better stay here. Your mom is in the living room."

"Mingyu-ya, I think you should find someone to fall in love with hm? So you can shift your attention to safe driving instead of participating in car races." Mrs. Kim spoke softly, patting his son's knee.

"Umma, I don't think I want to be committed to one person at the moment." Mingyu whined like a baby. His mom had always taken his side ever since he was still a kid.

A few minutes later, tapping of shoes on the marbled floor was heard. His dad was home.

"Your mom and I decided to send you to a close friend's mom so you'll be living with a grandmother and you will help around in the province. Maybe there, you'll at least learn how to clean up after yourself." His dad suddenly said which made Mingyu look at his mom with wide eyes. He didn't expect his mom to be a part of this.

"What? You're sending me to exile?!"

"You exaggerate too much. Your mom's bestfriend from highschool also lives there and she has a son around your age, if you need anything, you can ask them for help. Now, go pack your bags." His dad explained and then stood up from the sofa, not sparing a glance at his son.

"Appa! Do you even know what a province is? There's nothing there! how am I supposed to live? You know what, that idea. I am not going anywhere!" Mingyu stood up and raised his voice so his father could take the hint. He didn't want to go to a province. What the hell is he supposed to do there?

"Oh yeah? Well, If you want you card frozen and your car keys taken away, oh also broken video games, you can stay here." His dad smirked, knowing he already won. Those things were Mingyu's treasure and he didn't want them taken away. With a loud huff, he walked up the stairs and went to his room, slamming the door shut.

"Province? my life."
