Somewhere between hook-ups, post-it notes, red tapes and strip Uno, they find something more than what they bargained for. Hint: it's a four-letter word.
Why I love it:
I've been strictly avoiding SoonHoon for some time now, because as you all know, I'm a ty trash for Jicheol. However, I have never shied away from beautiful stories such as this one. The Jicheol shipper in me does not pass up to a good story, so here we are.
The fanfic in itself was unique, it's in the middle of being cliche but then it slips me a revelation that made me hold up and just say, no, this isn't like the others. But then, I'll fall into a comfortable pace where I see that it is common, however it hands me another bomb that explodes right into my face. See, my point here is, somehow it will you up eventually.
It has this certain unbalanced formula of cliche stories and big mysterious revelations that propels the story to become so interesting and worth reading. It does not stop from satisfying just one curiosity, instead it presented me a complex plot of intricately webbed actions and reactions that slams me towards finding myself emotionally attached to the story.
What more is that this story is in the middle of heart tugging, funny, and sad. It's hard to strike a balance between those contradictory emotions but this story does this. From Soonyoung's pure love, to Jihoon's undeniably sassy comebacks, to Seungcheol's relationship with each character, and then the situation that pushed them into this extremely complicated and crucial part of their lives.
It is also well to note how smart the author played on the whole thing together from the title, the alternate universe, the setting, the environment to which this story prospered and the whole relationship. It reminded me a bit of Cheese in the Trap but then it proppeled me into another dimension that was the author's own. Only to be side tracked by yet another reference to a lovely movie (The Lake House) that I enjoyed as well. The mixture of popculture references and the author's own twists and turns have created a rather dynamic patch of beautiful stories combined to create a more colorful world for SoonHoon.
It was also extremely well put, the words fall perfectly together, creating this certain environment that made me feel like a part of one big party. The story is still working it's way to the end, I can see the other things that could and would happen, however, as I said, the author has a way with dropping bombs bigger than the ones she dropped before, so I cannot trust these possibilities.
I'd say, you give it a try and let it play with your mind, your heart, and your sanity.
Thanks to gwanshim for another long yet beautiful story. My first ever romantic SoonHoon, I think. I hope everybody gives this love because it deserves all of it!
