Seyoung sighed as this was the fourth day in a row that she had more than ten people burn holes into her back. All because she rejected the school’s Casanova. Honestly who could blame her for rejecting him twice, and clearly he didn’t seem to get the idea that she wasn’t interested in him. Well she wasn’t exactly not interested in him but she wasn’t looking at him in that way. She was more interested as to why he found joy in destroying hearts and basically making women cry. Other than knowing that, she wasn’t really attracted to him.

“Joshua Hong, can you stop stalking me before I get a restraining order?” she asked irritated and the young man feigned innocent as he turned back to his book. Both were in the library where everyone had at least glanced at them or whispered something about the two.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Seyoung Lee. “ he turned the page and she scoffed at him. “I am simply reading here, can a young lad not read when he wants?”

Seyoung stood up, picking her books up along with her, “No, he can, but a young lass can’t study when she has the whole library burning holes into her back.”

Joshua watched her walk out of the library and closed his book before getting up to follow her. Technically to Joshua he wouldn’t call it stalking but an honour to have him follow you around, and like he predicted; she didn’t find it flattering but rather annoying. He smirked and walked out of the library to see her studying under a tree as he casually happened to want to rest near where she was studying.

“Tell me love.” Joshua sat next to her and she rolled her eyes, “Why aren’t you flattered or flustered that I’m giving you attention?”

Seyoung looked at him like he was an idiot, “I don’t know, maybe your charms just don’t work on me.”

“Evidently they don’t, but I’m curious love,” He leaned in closer to her till their nose touched one another, she didn’t breathe nor did she blink. “Do you find me to be that unattractive?”

The young woman blinked and gave him a blank expression, “You’re not ugly or anything. I’m just not attracted to you.” she stated bluntly and Joshua had to admit it took a blow to his pride.

“Then what are you attracted to love?”

Seyoung tilted her head and looked into his brown orbs seeing that he was once again playing with her. She had to admit she was taken back by his action yesterday but she wasn’t sure if she would see those eyes again. The ones that were truthful and filled with honesty. However she was correct to reject him.

“Sincerity, Mr Playboy.”

She turned back to her work and Joshua gazed at her. He truly wondered who she really was. It seemed like she could see through everything and it scared Joshua. No one had ever been able to read him like a book, except his mother but other than her, no one.

“Love, why do you think my words and actions are not sincere?”

“That’s what I’m curious about.” She turned back to him and for the first time Joshua was taken back by a woman as she leaned in so close that he could feel her warm breath on his lips.

“Why do you play with people’s heart strings?” 

There was a moment of silence between the two of them where only one person heart raced.

“Love, I only play with what entertains me not just anyone.” He explained carefully and she raised a brow, “However like a child that gets bored, I must find a new toy to play.”

Seyoung pulled away from him and sighed, she now confirmed that the young man in front of her hand no soul what so ever. It only gave her more of a reason to stay away from him, after all she had to fix her own problem first.

“I’m curious however, why are you scared to take a chance with me?”

She didn’t say anything but looked into his eyes and he fell in a trance looking into her ordinary brown orbs that didn’t seem so ordinary to him. He couldn’t help but swallow as the young lady clearly was tempting him with her close proximity and her abilities to draw him closer like he was a sea men attracted to a siren singing.

“Maybe because I don’t want to take a chance with you.”

Seyoung was in her lounge room in her small apartment as she was currently preparing for some tests and other assignments due the next week. Momo was in the shower as they came back from dance practice and both were filled with sweat and bad odour. Seyoung’s phone buzzed on the coffee table she was using and when she glanced at her phone she felt her heart race.

“H-hello?”

“Baby girl! Why do you sound scared?” Her boyfriend voice changed from sweet to concern. It almost made her vomit hearing her call her pet names.

It was last week when she discovered that her boyfriend was cheating on her with one of his classmates from his Chinese class. His class is in china now on a field trip and it was then when she noticed because during one of their calls, she heard some unexpected noises which she never thought she would want to hear in her life.  Most people would confront their boyfriend about stuff like this but she didn’t even bother because she knew he would deny it and they would fight and she wondered was it even worth fighting about? Was he even worth fighting for? Thus she kept it to herself and only told Momo who suggested to break up with him immediately but she didn’t instead she was where she was now.

“Nothing, I’m just tired and you called when I woke up.” She lied effortlessly.

“Oh, I completely forgot about the time changes.” He apologised for his mistake and she ecoffed internally, it’s ing 6 in the evening babe. Not going to be ing sleeping. She thought to herself but giggled pretending to be in love with him.

“Anyway babe, I have to go but I’ll see you tomorrow. “ He cooed and she sang back with affirmation and hung up to roll her eyes and pinch the bridge between her nose.

“Who was that?” said Momo while drying her hair as she sat next to her.

“Boyfriend.” Seyoung muttered and pulled her long hair out of the bun it was confined in.

“You still haven’t broken up with him?”

Seyoung yawned and nodded, “Yeah, probably break up with him when he comes back.”

“Seyoung, why haven’t you broken up with him? Wouldn’t it be easier to get over him?”

Seyoung thought for a moment and chuckled at her own logic, “Who knows, I think it would be easier to break up with him if I already had moved on like him, you know?”

“Why don’t you think about Joshua Hong?” Momo brought up the most irritating lad she could ever think in this world. She honestly didn’t understand why he was following her like a lost puppy.

“Joshua Hong is only looking for a play. He isn’t actually interested in me.” She stated and Momo sighed and couldn’t help but agree with her, knowing the playboy’s behaviour it was most likely he wasn’t really interested in her.

“I guess… but why don’t you just do the same to him? Like play with him like he’s trying to play with you.”

Seyoung frowned at her best friend for a moment, “Why?”

“Why not?” Momo pulled a pillow under her chin and rested on it. “Like I said before, it will distract you from-“

“I’m not playing with someone’s feeling. We already confirmed this.”

“Look, just think about it. But go and have a shower and wear your best clubbing clothes because were hitting them tonight.” Momo got up to go to her bedroom.

“Again!?” Seyoung sighed but went into the shower.

Besides she needed the alcohol to drain down her thoughts away.

Joshua drowned his third drink of the night, his friends were partying already but he decided tonight he wouldn’t join the party. Instead he couldn’t help but wonder what he needed to do to get Lee Seyoung to play into his palm. On a regular basis, it took less than two days to make a girl fall and break her heart for Mr Knight in shining Armor to come and the rescue but Seyoung Lee was proving his theories and testing him. It had been a week and it didn’t look like anytime soon she was going to fall for him. Jeonghan slumped next to him on the couch and swung his arm around Joshua who barely noticed his presence.

“Still thinking about Seyoung Lee?”

It took a minute or two for Joshua to process what he asked. This fact made Jeonghan truly amused as he never been so whipped or unconsciously drawn to a young woman like her. When jeonghan saw her, he had to admit she was pretty but she didn’t seem ‘that’ pretty enough for him to go after her but clearly Joshua saw something that he didn’t. Or there was a possibility that she could be the one for Joshua.

“I don’t get why she won’t just fall for me?”

Jeonghan chuckled, “Not all women are easy Josh. Evidently you haven’t got Seyoung Lee wrapped around your finger.” He drowned down his whiskey.

“I just don’t get why she won’t even take a chance.” Joshua sipped onto his beer as he twirled a coin.

“Well you do know she has a boyfriend right?”

There was a moment of silence between Joshua and Jeonghan and Joshua felt awkward and for the first time embarrassed. Firstly he couldn’t understand why he was flustered that he approached a girl who has a boyfriend already because he prettymuch played with every women from single to taken. Secondly, he never thought she was in a relationship with someone already because she acted as if she was focused mostly on her studies which she most likely was. But she didn’t even tell him that she had a boyfriend, it could have been a good excuse she could have used to push him away yet she hadn’t revealed that fact to him, but why?

“S-She does?”

“Yeah, I was going to tell you and-“

“Is that her boyfriend?” Joshua interrupted his best friend as he looked in the distance to see a crowd surrounding a fight.

“Y-yeah… . Joshua don’t even bother interfering with them-“

“Jeonghan, Heads or tails?”  he asked and the elder frowned, clearly confused.

“Tails. Why?”

Joshua smirked and flipped the coin, and before Jeonghan could stop him he already was making his way to the small crowd as a certain young lady was there and he had business with her. Jeonghan called out to him but when he looked at the coin, clearly he made a bet with himself; Heads, he would go to her aid, or Tails he would leave the situation be, but what fuelled Jeonghan’s amusement was what side of the coin was.

Tails

Clearly something was happening to his best friend and he was oblivious to what was happening, because to Jeongan, this doesn’t seem like one of his games because he broke another rule in his book that Jeonghan knew for sure.

#Don’t play cupid when you know that the two don’t match or if you are willing to fall in love with your target.

They were freshmen when they all agreed that they would stick together forever, playing with young women heart strings. After all it’s all fun and games for the three but Joshua took more pleasure than both of them did. Thus when he decided to play cupid and make this rule book, he never considered ever falling in love and Jeonghan could see that he didn’t even realise he was wrapped around her finger.
