Because I Like You

There was no way in any shape, manner or form was this man possibly human. Not only was he the most beautiful man she had ever laid eyes on—you can practically put him in a dress and he'd instantly win Miss Universe—but his charm was just... Out of this world. She began to wonder if he could possibly get away with murder, especially with the smooth words that had Yunmi wrapped around his pretty finger. Well, then again, he took advantage of her weakness, which was the fact that he was her ultimate DBSK bias.

Sarah continued to hide behind him, her eyes literally glued to Yunmi's form, who was contently sitting on the sofa, with Jaejoong hovering her and smiling with his famous Jaejoong smile.

Earlier, Sarah couldn't take the tension and the dagger like glares Yunmi sent her way. And it only escalated to a full out attempt of murder when Sarah tried to make a run for it. The fangirl practically went berserk and proceeded to chase the other around the entire apartment. But being Mr. Prince Charming (or Princess?), Jaejoong managed to sedate Yunmi and somehow get her to sit down on the sofa.

And so here they were, overcrowding the living room. Kai was currently sulking in the corner, by all means annoyed that some complete stranger—well not really—easily calmed his girlfriend. Jaemin and Alex occupied the love seat, with Hannah sitting on the arm rest. Minwoong leaned against the wall, slightly annoyed as well, mainly because he still couldn't believe that Sarah was telling the truth. Either that, or this dude was one hell of a cosplayer. But seeing as Yunmi wasn't accusing this guy as a fake, he had to be the real thing.

Right?

“So let me get this straight,” Jaemin collected, “You, a member of Asia's most popular boy band... You're the one doing the stalking?”

“I wouldn't say that—” Jaejoong was suddenly interrupted when Sarah bravely stepped aside and ignoring the murderous glares coming from her fangirling friend.

“Exactly!” she agreed as Jaejoong sent her a dry look, “Now... If it were Junsu...”

“Yah!”

“But didn't you tell me that you're dating him?” Minwoong questioned with a raised eyebrow. Sarah's mouth instantly snapped shut, a darkening tint of pink rushing to both her face and her ears and caused everyone to look at her.

“Well I... Didn't exactly say that...”

“You hypocrite!” Yunmi snapped up and pointed an accused finger at her direction, “For the longest time I had to listen to you and whine about how much you dislike Jaejoong and his hype! He's so girly! He's nothing but hype! How much of a can this guy get?! Seriously Sarah, I hate you so much right now... The moment this guy throws himself at your feet, you take advantage of that and practically milk him for all he's worth!”

“Yunmi...”

“Yunmi!”

“And what's worse, you don't even LIKE him!” she continues, with a hard glare, “Why YOU of all people, huh? It's all about Junsu for you, but whenever I speak of Jaejoong... You get all snappy and tell me to shut up!”

“I...”

“Yah...” Jaejoong finally speaks up, looking from Sarah to Yunmi, “Look, all of this is just a bit of misunderstanding...”

“No, ever since she came here, she's done nothing but bash you... Hell, she even admitted to being an anti!”

“Yunmi, you put that in when you two were arguing,” Kai rolls his eyes.

“N-no... She's right,” Sarah sighs as she looked at Jaejoong, shamefully, “Before, I could say that I was an anti against you... But after listening to Yunmi speak of great things about you, I started to respect you in a way, but I still didn't like you per se. It wasn't until we got into this mess that I saw the real you... And the real Jung Yunho, the real Park Yoochun, the real Kim Junsu and the real Shim Changmin. When I was with you guys, all I saw were five hot, yet ordinary friends... Or brothers living in a dorm together. Which gave me a brand new perspective...”

“Sarah-ah...”

“Please... Oppa, I'm sorry for being shallow and judgmental...” she smiled gently, “And I'm sorry. Though, at the same time, I suppose I should say thank you.”

“My God, what is this...? A drama?”

“Shut up, Minwoong!” Hana hissed as she smacked him upside the head.

Jaejoong cocked his head ever so slightly, his eyes basically super glued to Sarah's form just a few inches away from him. The presence of Sarah's friends were obviously ignored as he reached over and grasped her hand. The color on her cheeks darkened, but at the same time, she couldn't help but send him a confused look. No words were exchanged, but he smiled.

“Come with me,” was all he said as he yanked her to him and hurried out of the apartment, the others quickly towing behind him.

“What the hell?!” both Yunmi and Minwoong yelped as they followed the two out; however, were stopped when Jaemin and Kai blocked their paths.

“Yah!” Minwoong growled as he glared at his best friend, “What are you doing? Lets go follow them!”

“Oppa!” Yunmi shrieked at the same time.

“Leave them alone,” Hana said as she appeared next to Jaemin, “It's not our business.”

“Hana,” Yunmi glared, “How in the world can you say that?! Both you and I are Jaejoong fans and not only was he just standing there, in front of us... But he ran off with that hater!”

Hana merely smiled at her cousin, “Ne... I am a proud Jaejoong fan and as a proud Jaejoong fan, I don't want to see him as the next forty year old !”

Sarah's legs were beginning to sting as the duo continued to run. She could see her breath coming out in rapid puffs of smoke, which she couldn't help but start complaining about her chest hurting. All she manage to do was grab a jacket and slip on her flats. And once they were a couple of blocks away from the complex, Jaejoong finally slowed down, allowing the both of them to catch their breath.

“I... Need... To... Work out... More,” Sarah choked out in between breaths. Jaejoong was panting as well, though he didn't really look as wired down as the girl, “Aigoo... Next time, warn me so I can at least have the proper clothing!”

Jaejoong merely chuckled, straightening himself out as he shuffled over to the girl and helped her stand straight. Still catching her breath, Sarah leaned backward, her back now pressed against his chest as she tried to slow her heavy pants to gentle, even breaths. Her eyes were closed, at least he managed to see that as he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him. This dorky, closed lipped smile appeared on his lips as he rested his chin on the top of her head.

This is what I really need... He mentally told himself, his arms tightening the embrace just a bit so the both of them were still comfortable at least. Looking around for a moment, he made sure no one was really around and much to his surprise, he ended up dragging her all the way to a park. Smiling contently to himself, he allowed himself to relax as he closed his eyes.

Opening her eyes, Sarah's eyes scanned the area around them, her body immediately tensing. And as if he sensed her worry, he pulled her body more to him, getting them as close as he possibly can. Swallowing hard, Sarah shifted her head, looking up so now his chin was now resting on her forehead instead.

“What are you doing?”

“I should be asking you that,” she countered, her face flushed.

“What does it look like?” he countered her counter question with his own, “Enjoying the moment.”

Again, her face flushed, “Y-you should be careful... You didn't bring your stuff...”

“Then we'll stay here,” he stated as he opened his eyes, then lifted one of his hands and moved her head so now she was looking forward again, “This place is empty. So, it'll be just the two of us.”

Oh goodness... She tried to fight back another blush, but that clearly wasn't working.

“But I wanna sit down,” she suddenly interjected. Sighing, Jaejoong released his hold on her, which allowed Sarah to relax her body, but he refused to let go of her hand, “Yah...”

“Come here,” he motioned as he brought her over to the empty swing set, “Sit down here.”

She blinked, watching as he swiped away some lingering snow that still occupied the seat. Once he was done, he looked up at her and motioned her to sit. She merely stared at him, blinking a few times before he frowned and made her sit.

“Why not the bench?” she questioned.

“Because this will be more fun~” he replied as he moved behind her and grasped the chains. Looking at his hands, she couldn't help but squeak when he pulled on the chain, bringing her back and then releasing them . Swinging forward, Sarah then found herself giggling when Jaejoong began to lightly push her.

“Oppa, higher!” she chanted, completely forgetting her hesitant act from earlier. Jaejoong happily obligated to her wishes, pushing her more so now she was swinging higher, which caused her to laugh loudly as she swung back and forth.

“Yah...” he called out after awhile of pushing her on the swing, “Slow it down.”

Dragging her feet to the wet ground, she then managed to stop the swing, up to the point that she was gently rocking back and forth. Once she was at a safe speed, Jaejoong stepped forward and grabbed the chains and pulled them back until she slipped off the seat.

“Eh?” she blinked as she found herself standing, while she leaned back and found herself pressed against him again, “Jae...”

“What do you think of me?” he suddenly inquired. His lips were right next to her ear, sending multiple goosebumps all over her body, “Be honest.”

Flushed, confused and a bit embarrassed about their position, Sarah swallowed again, “W-what do you mean?”

“What do you think of me?” he repeated, this time a bit louder as he loosened his grip on the chains and allowed his hands to slide down so that they were now grasping hers, “And I want you to be very honest with me.”

“W-well,” she began, unsure of what she should say, “I... Uhm... You're very... Good on the stage. I really like your voice...”

Hearing that, he couldn't help but sigh as he rested his chin on her shoulder, but kept his hands on top of hers. Turning her head, she couldn't help but give him a strange look as she watch him make a pouty face with his cheek puffed out. Her expression immediately changed from strange to a smiling one, a soft giggle then coming out from her.

He started mumbling incoherently, causing her to laugh again.

And surprising the both of them, she leaned toward him and playfully kissed his cheek. He blinked, his attention back at her once again.

“You're adorable too,” she added with a smile, “... Sometimes.”

He let a short laugh, “Okay... Can you do me a huge favor?”

“Mmmm?”

“Accompany me on a playdate for today.”

“Eh...?” she looked at him and blushed.

He smiled, “Please? Just for today... I promise to take you home before midnight.”

“Eh?!!” she laughed as she pulled away from him, “Alright... But I want to and need to put on some better clothes.”

“Deal~”

- - -

Her friends had long left, much to their surprise. But at the same time, she was rather glad since she didn't want to have to deal with Yunmi once again. What had happened earlier, she didn't really know how to feel, especially when Yunmi accused her of being a hater before. Well, then again, she did admit to it, but for some reason, she was afraid of how would Jaejoong react to it.

Sarah felt scared.

He had an unsure look in his eyes, even if it was just for a split second. And that alone worried her to the point her chest actually hurt. Swallowing hard, those few seconds felt like an eternity, her body tensing and she was afraid for the worst. She was half expecting him to probably walk out on them and that would most likely be the very end of everything.

And that right there, was the thing that she feared the most.

But that moment when he grasped her hand and gave her one of his most sincerest smiles, he wouldn't know and she didn't have the heart or courage to tell him just yet, but she officially fell.

And she fell hard too.

The corner of her lips twitched upward, her smile appearing on her lips as she placed a hand on her cheek. Her face felt warm and the moment she looked at the mirror, she found herself all pink and almost glowing. Sarah blinked a few times, wondering when did she feel so alive and radiant. And as if on cue, Jaejoong appeared behind her, his hands rest on her shoulders as he leaned forward and made it so that he was now part of her vision.

“You didn't have to doll yourself up,” he confessed as he reached over and grabbed her shimmery pink lipstick. And out of nowhere, he suddenly drew a large, shimmy pink heart on her cheek closest to his. Sarah's eyes immediately widen and dropped open, causing Jaejoong to start cracking up.

“Kim Jaejoong!?” she screeched as she grabbed her eyeliner and drew a dark line across his cheek and managed to get a bit of his nose. He blinked, before his eyes started to narrow ever so slightly.

“This. Means. War.”

Sarah screamed, but started laughing when she shot up and shoved him away from her, but that was because she drew another black line across his flawless face. Jaejoong immediately barked at her, giving her threats as he chased after her and the two of them ran around the apartment, drawing on another but laughing the entire time.

By the time they were both tired from all that, they were both on the floor, Sarah sitting up while Jaejoong laid on the floor. Both panting, they offhandedly looked at one another before bursting into random fits of giggles. And once Sarah composed herself, she reached over and grabbed her make up remover face cloths and immediately started to scrub off both the make up she put on herself and the lipstick Jaejoong iced on top. Once she was done, Jaejoong sat up and sat next to her. He then reached over and attempted to grab one for himself, but Sarah beat him to that and reached over, gently scrubbing off the eyeliner lines she drew all over his cheeks and face.

There was this silence between the two of them, but a type of silence the both of them felt a sense of contentment and reassurance.

Once again, Sarah's cheeks flared up when she realized what she was doing, but it was already too late and she just continued with what she was doing.

“Thank you~” he smiled rather cutely when she was done.

“Y-you're welcome,” she muttered as she pulled away and tossed the cloths in the trashcan nearby. He then pushed himself up, then taking Sarah's hand and helped her up.

“There, you look prettier this way~” he grinned and dragged her out of the apartment.

The nippy air greeted the both of them once again. Just before the two of them left the apartment, the both of them helped one another with their scarfs and hats. Reaching up, Sarah gently wrapped the bright red scarf around Jaejoong's neck, covering it comfortably and made it so that it also covered his nose and mouth. She then picked up his beanie and covered his head and his ears. Jaejoong also did the same thing, except he didn't cover her nose and mouth since she felt uncomfortable with it. And instead of a beanie, Sarah wore a taxi hat.

And here there were, walking quietly side by side in the streets of Seoul. It was another busy evening, the sidewalks covered with pedestrians of all sorts, which included couples and families. As if it were an everyday thing, Jaejoong grasped her hand and intertwined their fingers together. This caused her to walk closer to him, their arms touching and this embarrassed yet happy smile on her lips as she somehow managed to wrap her arm around his and once again intertwined their hands together.

The Christmas decorations were up, adding more beauty and light along the streets; the both of them pointing and commenting about the scenery. They also ate at a small restaurant and somehow managing to not get caught. Sarah couldn't help but giggle, especially when she had to help feed him while he pretended to be sick.

After eating, the duo continued with their walking, enjoying the atmosphere and going window shopping. Sarah couldn't help but point and admire all the stuff that caught her eye, especially at some clothes, jewelry and some Kpop merchandise.

“Oppa, look,” the girl laughed as she released his arm and hurried over to a life size cutout of... Junsu, in his Mirotic attire, posing all serious like. Giggling like a fangirl, she quickly motioned him over and demanded that he take a picture.

“No.”

“Oppa!”

“You might as well call him up yourself and ask to take a picture with him!”

“Oh...” she blinked, hiding her little evil idea, “Why didn't I think of that? Can I borrow your cellphone?”

“Bwoh? NO!” he shrieked. Sarah immediately laughed, noticing a few bystanders giving him weird looks before going back to their own business.

“Oppa... Please?” she pouted as she clapped her hands together and pushed out her bottom lip. After awhile, he finally gave in and pulled out his cellphone, before he begrudgingly took a picture of her, posing all cute like.

“I hate you...” he muttered as he started texting.

- - -

Jumping at the sudden vibration of his cellphone, Kim Junsu instinctively whipped out his phone and began to see what it was. It wasn't two seconds later that he suddenly cracked up and held onto the seat he was sitting on.

“AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

“Junsu-ssi, are you okay?”

“Eh... Huh?” Junsu regained his composure, before he looked at the person speaking to him, “Oh! I'm fine! What were you saying again?”

“We were talking about a funeral...”

“...”

Awkward...

- - -

The carnival was in town and she wasn't going to miss out on this. Grabbing his arm, Sarah began to drag him over toward the entrance and attempted to pay for the ride passes. But Jaejoong immediately jumped in front of her, handing the vendor the money he magically whipped out. Sarah's eyes narrowed, a flat look on her face as Jaejoong giggled and practically pranced away.

“...”

Once recovering from that WTF? moment, Sarah hurried after him and he immediately grabbed her hand and the both of them hurried over to the first ride they could see. And this went on for the rest of the evening. They were both dragging one another to wherever they wanted to go, minus the Tunnel of Love.

Jaejoong pouted in the corner, squatting on the floor, his back facing her as he started to draw the infinity sign over and over again. There was an air of misery hovering above him and anyone nearby could sense it. Sarah stood a few feet away from him, her arms limp beside her as she hung her head.

Really? Really... Really?!

“Yah!” she barked, her head snapping up as she marched over and attempted to yank him up, but he continued to stay put. A heavy sigh escaping from her lips as she fell back and sat none too comfortably on her , “Aigoo... Okay, I'll go ride the Ferris Wheel by myself.”

She didn't even have to bother getting up. Jaejoong shot up and pulled her over to the line without much of a second thought. And while standing in line, Sarah couldn't help but tense up whenever a girl gave them a second glance, especially at Jaejoong, who was absentmindedly looking around every now and then. She was hoping to God that no one would recognize him and there were a few times she had a few scares because Jaejoong's scarf would come undone, and some girls would often do double takes at his direction. But at those moments, Jaejoong would just fix his scarf and wrap an arm around her before guiding her elsewhere.

“Aigoo...” Sarah muttered as she reached up and fixed his scarf, “You're going to get me killed one of these days.”

“And your body's going to be stuck like that if you keep tensing,” he retorted in a slightly deeper voice, just in case, “Relax Yeobo~”

Instantly, her entire face flared up and a few girls who overheard merely giggled. The moment she pulled away, he immediately pulled her closer, hugging her form close to his. Tilting her head downward, she shifted so that her forehead rested against his chest, her arms gingerly wrapping themselves around his waist, which allowed him to pull her even closer.

The moment was short lived, mainly because the two were already the next to ride the Ferris Wheel. Climbing in, Sarah sat down on one side of the little seat while Jaejoong got himself comfortable right next to her. Their hands were still intertwined and the seat jerked, causing Sarah to squeak and hold onto the safety bar. Of course, Jaejoong found this adorable and chuckled.

The two of them spent the entire ride laughing and giggling, and never did they once let go of one another's hands. There was a one time she attempted to do so, but he held onto it tight and yanked her close to him. Their noses were practically touching and they stared at one another for a good full minute, but then the jerking of the Ferris Wheel broke their trances.

Blushing, Sarah found herself standing outside the main entrance of the carnival, near a slightly secluded area. Jaejoong had quickly excused himself and shuffled over to the men's restroom. And here she was, standing around and rubbing her hands together with her scarf. She had a lot of time to think about things, especially during their playdate. And she was at a clear lost...

Kim Jaejoong chose her of all the people in this world. And she wondered why exactly. At the beginning, she found him to be annoying and really clingy. But at the same time, she found him to be cute and even reassuring. Even though he had a really busy schedule, he still took the time to buy her medicine and take care of her while she was sick. And he even forgave her for disliking him because of his hype.

Guilty. Sarah felt really guilty. All this time, she judged him for all of his flaws and completely forgetting that he was human. And yet, despite all of that, he still insisted to be in her life and even forgive her for her selfish dislike.

A cold wetness landed on her hand and she immediately looked up. The sky was starless tonight, the clouds blanketing them from her view, but it wasn't snowing, nor was it raining. But then her cheeks felt cold and she slowly reached over and felt a dampness on them.

Was she crying?

Wiping her tears from the back of her hand, she sighed sharply, “Oppa... Why do you even bother?”

“Because I like you,” he whispered in her ear and wrapped his arms around her from behind, “Because I really like you...”

Her lips parted, but her words were lost in the wind. her lips, Sarah swallowed hard while her vision began to blur, “B-but... Why?”

She felt his smile as he pulled her even closer, “Does a person need a reason for everything? All I know is one thing and that one thing is you. I don't understand why or how... Or if this was truly premeditated, but right now... At this moment, all I see is you.”

“Oppa...” she whispered as Jaejoong managed to turn her around. He had his scarf down and there was this genuine smile on his lips. Lifting a hand, he cupped her cheek gently and wiped away the lingering tears that fell with his thumb.

He presented her with a close lipped smile, “Now, I ask you again Sarah Lin... What do you think of me?”

“I think...” she bit her lip, “I think you're someone I don't want to let go and someone I've come to treasure now... And I think I'm ready for something.”

“And what is that...?” he mused, his eyes slightly darkening.

“Something sweet,” she replied, attempting to ignore his innuendo, “I think I want Oppa to kiss me.”

And that's exactly what he did. The moment he placed his free hand against her cheek, pulling her closer and lifting her head, he then dipped his head and kissed her the way he had longed to do, which was for real and not his special method of making her take medicine.

It snowed the moment their lips touched; however, the two of them were too oblivious of the gentle snowfall, along with the array of lights in the sky.

Oppa... I think I like you... I think I really like you too...
