“You went to Daegu, yesterday?”

 

I looked at my brother  if I asked him for help, and he was on the same situation as me; confused and surprised. 

It’s his fault because he talked without looking at Wonwoo’s face properly. That’s right, if you saw at a glance, it’s 

difficult to tell who is Wonwoo and who is Mingyu. But if you see their face properly, they looked different.

 

And my brother fell for that natural trap.

 

“Yes, she went to our grandparents, why?” my brother finally helped me.

“Oh. It’s just.., she didn’t tell me anything.”

“She has to tell you everything? You are so overprotective, bro.”

I pushed my brother so he could leave, because the more he opened his mouth, the more he would push me off the cliff. 

“Mind your own business!” I said. But still, I owe him my life.

“Do you want something to eat?”

Wonwoo shook his head, “I’m full,” then he smiled, “I want to ask something, but you have to answer it honestly.”

“What is that?”

“I know I was extremely insecure every time I saw you with Mingyu, thinking of it is enough to make me crazy already. 

I am not exaggerating, I really.., can’t imagine if I lose you to that kid.”

 

I knew it. Lying to Wonwoo wouldn’t be enough because he is such a sensitive person and he would thought about Mingyu 

every time something wrong happened to me. I wouldn’t blame him since it was my fault.

 

The he continued, “Does your heart confusing me and Mingyu? Do you care about him like you care about me?”

 

I didn’t answer. I’m not going to answer.

 

“Does your heart divided in two?”

“Wonwoo.., I..,”

“I don’t want to break up with you, Ahri. I tried everything to make you feel at ease and not confused. I knew that I’m not the 

only one on your mind. I knew everything, Ahri. Please, help me. Help me to make you fully mine. I don’t want to let you go.”

 

I got it now. So, the rumors were really true. Wonwoo knew the way to hold into a girl; that’s why he lasted long with his pas girlfriend. 

Everytime they were in danger, Wonwoo would just kneel down and apologize whether he was in fault or not. Because he fell 

in love fast, and he always fell deeper than the girl.

 

That’s why the girl cheated on him; because she really wanted him to let her go even though it’s hurt. But no, I’m not going to 

cheat on him. This guy is too precious.

 

I pulled him into a hug, caressing his hair and put my head on his shoulder. “Don’t say anything anymore, it hurts me.”

“Just don’t be confused anymore, I’m Wonwoo not Mingyu.”

“I know.”

It doesn’t make senses on how everyone treated me like this? They greeted me in the morning, they even asked me 

to have a lunch with them like, what the? Are they preparing something for me, or?

 

There are no bread and milk anymore on my desk since Mingyu stopped giving me. Actually I missed the tingling 

feeling when I got something from him, and when he would randomly appeared in my class. But now, seems like 

he’s enjoying his school life with his friends.

 

I would accidentally bumped to him but he just smiled without saying anything and left me. I would look at him 

playing soccer or basketball at the lunch time, but he wouldn’t look at me even once.

 

I must be happy because he wouldn’t make me confused again. But it’s strange, it’s not usual to live without Mingyu; 

especially when we just shared everything in Daegu and he suddenly acted like it was nothing.

 

“Ahri, for the pair project, do you want to do it with me?”

 

Oh , Hana. She just acted like she did nothing wrong to me but still, I couldn’t do anything since I was too 

lazy to make a new problem with people.

 

“Huh?”

“Everyone in this class is already paired up, it’s just you and me.”

“Uhh, okay then.”

“Let’s go to my house after school to start working the project.”

 

How could she smiled like that after betraying me? Relax, it’s just a school project, just don’t spill anything to 

this social butterfly girl, Ahri. Just do what you have to do and leave her house.

 

Suddenly Wonwoo came, putting his arms around me, “Seems like we can’t go on date after school, then?”

“Yes, she is going to come with me!” Hana said.

 

Without answering her, Wonwoo pulled me to walk with me out of the class. I like it when he appeared at the right 

timing. I really couldn’t stand being in an awkward situation hence I approved to be Hana’s partner. Oh, , I 

don’t have any other choice; I don’t have any friend except her.

 

“It’s really frustrating to see you socialize with people.”

“Then, you want me to be a loner, forever?”

Wonwoo pinched my cheeks as he laugh, “You are not a loner, you have me, Ahri.

 

I really like it when he wears a sweater because he has this sweater-paw . Even though he would look 

extremely skinny when he wore sweater.

 

“I need to go to the toilet, just wait here.” he said, and I just seated on the chair as he told me.

 

But there is a crowd and it was so noisy, seems like people are fighting. No way.., is it Mingyu?

 

I couldn’t help but ran to the crowd and saw him fighting with three student that I don’t even know. It was three 

versus one, and everybody was just watching them, no one is helping at all.

 

I know I shouldn’t  in to his problem anymore, but I couldn’t stand looking at them kicking Mingyu everywhere. 

I know Mingyu would hate me for doing this; and even Wonwoo, but I really have to do this.

 

I hugged him like I was protecting him from the gang, and let them kick my body instead. I could feel blood flowing 

from Mingyu’s mouth to my neck as he lean on me. My whole body was in a pain but it didn’t last long since the 

gang stopped kicking me when they realized I was protecting Mingyu.

 

“This girl again. Let’s go before the teacher came!”

 

And now, it’s my turn to lean on him when the boys had already stopped kicking me. I know he’s in a pain more than me, 

but he carried me out of the crowd without saying anything. I’m ready even if he is going to yell at my face now.

 

He put me to the bed and called the nurse right away, but before I passed out, I remembered what he said to me.

 

“Stupid, I’m not going to care about you anymore if you are not even taking care of yourself.” said Mingyu, as he wiped 

the blood all over his face with his hands, and he left me.

 

As expected, I have nothing but him.

 

“Ahri? Are you okay?”

 

It was Wonwoo who held my hands all this time, waiting for me to open my eyes. I was so stupid because I thought 

Mingyu would wait for me, but no, he really left me. Why would I even expect him anyway?

 

“What happened to me?”

“You didn’t get so much bruise, but you passed out because you were too surprised, Ahri. The nurse said you need 

a bed rest.”

“Oh.”

“Why did you do that? Mingyu would be okay even if you didn’t do that.”

 

Wonwoo’s right. Mingyu would be alright even thought I just watched him from behind, because he got into fights 

so often like it’s just his everyday’s lunch. But I really couldn’t hold the urge to help him, I really wanted to help him.

 

“I don’t know.., I don’t want to talk about it right now, Wonwoo.”

“It’s okay, you have to go home now. I will accompany you.”

“But I have to work on the project with Hana.”

“She agreed to wait until tomorrow, I just talked to her.”

“Oh.., okay.”

 

I really wanted to know about Mingyu’s condition. But, no, I shouldn’t ask about him anymore. He just said that 

he wouldn’t care about me anymore.

 

Wonwoo said he told Seungcheol and his friend to finish that gang who kicked me and Mingyu. It’s up to Seungcheol 

on what he would do to them as long as they’re still alive, though. I don’t really care about that as long as they don’t 

kill them.

 

I was so surprised because on the next day, no one was talking about me? Like, I just did something stupid yesterday 

but people were so chill about it? Usually, they would talk about me all day, but.., they didn’t now?

 

When I saw Mingyu walked to the rooftop after school, I followed him behind and hoping he would ask my condition. 

But, no, he didn’t ask anything. When I looked into his face, bruises was everywhere and his eyes were even swollen.

 

I couldn’t help but to touch his face, but surprisingly, he avoided me.

 

“What are you doing here? Do we really have anything to talk about?”

 

Did he really just said that? Mingyu?

 

“Do we? Yes. We do! I just saved your life, don’t you want to say something?”

“Saved my life, your ! I don’t need such girl like you to save my life, just  off my life!”

 

I can’t believe Mingyu just said that to me. Even though I know I was in fault, but he should’ve choose nicer words to 

me, though. Instead of  off.

 

“You are really helpless, Kim Mingyu.” I said as I left him there without saying anything more.

“Are you okay, Ahri? You’re zoning out often.”

“Oh, I’m okay. What was it?” I tried to focus on the project with Hana, even though my mind was really a mess because 

of that damned kid named Mingyu.

“Let’s take a break, I will cook ramen for us.”

 

Hana left to cook ramen and I really tried to be focus with the project as she left; but I just couldn’t. Mingyu’s face would 

appeared out of nowhere on my mind and it was really driving me crazy!

 

Hana’s phone kept vibrating and showing that she got so many messages continually. I couldn’t see what messages that 

she got, but I could see who’s the sender. It was Mingyu. He sent her so many messages and it really made me curious 

as hell.

 

Since when Hana knew Mingyu so well to the extent that Mingyu messaged her continually like... in every seconds? 

What happened between two of them?
