(**Note: The interpretation of the song lyrics might be vary from yours, and this is according to my interpretation)

Don’t Say No

Oh ooh yeah hey

Do not look like that, it’s not late, baby

You said don’t leave, you were right

Your love was a burden, so I tried to

I’m sorry for everything, I’m wrong

I can’t live without you

Can’t we start again from the bottom? Please

You loved me, it’s my favor

Don’t say no oh oh

I’m so sad, you know you too

Please come back, am I bad?

Baby don’t say no, I’ll always believe

That I was everything for you

Oh oh oh oh don’t say no

No baby baby don’t say no

Ooh ooh yeah ooh

If you feel like me, tell me right away

I hate even one second when we’re not together

I want to show you changed me but why

Do you make a strange expression?

I don’t like that kind of things

Let’s go back to that time we were happy, please

You loved me, it’s my favor

Don’t say no oh oh

I’m so sad, you know you too

Please come back, am I bad?

Baby don’t say no, I’ll always believe

That I was everything for you

Oh oh oh oh don’t say no

Can I get your lovin’? Can I get it?

(Can I get it?) Oh oh

Don’t bother, I know everything

(I know) Oh oh

Baby you and me, everything will be fine

So don’t you worry

Can I get your lovin’? Can I get it?

(Can I get it?) Oh oh

Don’t say no oh oh

I’m so sad, you know you too

Please come back, am I bad?

Baby don’t say no, I’ll always believe

That I was everything for you

Oh oh oh oh don’t say no

Ooh don’t say no, no yeah whoo

Baby don’t say no, I’ll always believe

That I was everything for you

Oh oh oh oh don’t say no

“Seohyun ah, I.. I like you..,” Hyoyeon finally blurted out her feelings she had been keeping for so many years. She realized she was going to jeopardize the friendship they had been built from the day one she knew Seohyun since their college times. There were so many ups and downs in their lives for almost nine years of knowing each other as college mates, and living together as housemates. They also worked under one roof in the same entertainment agency. Hyoyeon was determined to say it before it’s too late. Her heart was beating unevenly, and nervously anticipating for the latter’s answer.

“Hyo Unnie.. I.. I don’t know what to say,” Seohyun replied, contemplating. There’s a hint of a hesitant in her voice. Her mind was blank due to the sudden confession which came from her long-time best friend, whom also she regards as her own sister. After a long pause, Hyoyeon sighed before she speak again.

“I know, this is really unexpected, right? We have been friends for a long time, and I know it is hard for you to accept that I like you more than a friend. A best friend to be exact,” she said as she smiled faintly.

The moment she decided to confess her feelings to Seohyun was the moment she have prepared herself to accept the rejection. The reason why she finally confessed her feelings was because of one guy named Nam Joo Hyuk. For the past three months, Seohyun who was working as a model, singer and actress recently involved in a new drama project as one of the casts in a historical drama. She has been paired with the newcomer actor as her lover in that drama. Every time after she returned home from her drama filming, she will share with Hyoyeon on what had happened on the day, but most of the time she will talking about her co-actor. Hyoyeon realized if she didn’t do anything, Seo Ju Hyun whom she have been falling in love with for the past five years will be slipping away from her life soon.

“Seohyun ah, listen. I’m not in a position to forcing you to like me back. I just want to confess to you before it’s too late. If you don’t feel like what I feel for you, then it’s okay. I completely understand,” Hyoyeon said as she smiled and patted on Seohyun’s hand.

Hyoyeon and Seohyun were best friends since they were in college time. Hyoyeon was in a Year Two in her studies and she took Performing Arts course, majoring in Contemporary Dance. She was an excellent student who was graduated from the infamous Incheon Dancing Academy, and has been offered by the academy with a full scholarship to pursue her studies at Dongguk University. She’s also two years older than Seohyun when she first entering the college. Meanwhile Seohyun, who was also an excellent student and a Grade 9 pianist taking the same course as Hyoyeon, but majoring in Theatre.

They first met in an orientation program organized by the university where the senior students needed to choose junior students of their courses as their mentee to help them in their studies, and to know more about the university. Out of all the junior students, Hyoyeon chose Seohyun. She didn’t know why, but she just listened to her heart, and it tells her to choose Seohyun because she looks so innocent and shy. Most of the junior students easily got new friends, but Seohyun always being alone.

Day by day, they became closer despite of having different personalities, Seohyun slowly accepting Hyoyeon because of being her true self. They were like sisters, and no matter where they go, they will always being together. Many students and friends thought that they were lovers, but they immediately denied it and just reasoned to them that they were best friends. But, deep inside Hyoyeon’s heart, she slowly fall in love with her best friend without Seohyun knew about it.

“Why don’t you just tell her that you have already falling in love her, Hyo ah?,” Yuri, Hyoyeon’s classmate and also her close friend asked her one day when they were in a middle of having a break before the next class started. Hyoyeon sighed while shifted her gaze on the window.

“I don’t want to lose her and lose our friendship, Yuri ah,” Hyoyeon replied. “What if she don’t have the same feeling as mine, and likes someone else? I don’t to want to take any risks,” she continued.

“How would you know her feelings if you don’t ask, Hyo ah? If I didn’t confess my feelings to Yoong, I wouldn’t have known that she likes me too back then,” Yuri said. Yoong or Im Yoona was Yuri’s girlfriend, and their junior of one year, but she was from different course.

“Duh? She used to send you hundreds of love notes, and wasn’t that obvious enough to you that she likes you first back then?,” Hyoyeon replied in sarcastic tone, causing Yuri giggled.

“Ara, ara! But, again, I just giving my two cents, and as your close friend, I want to see you happy, Hyo ah. I don’t want you to feel regret later,” Yuri truthfully said.

“Thanks, buddy!,” Hyoyeon replied as she smiled faintly. Not long after, the next class started.

“Unnie, I really appreciate your feelings towards me..,” Seohyun said after a long pause. She took a deep breath and her mind quickly tried to find the right words to say to Hyoyeon.

“U-unnie, I’m sorry to say this, but can we just stay as friends? I know I shouldn’t say like this, but, right now I feel awkward and uncomfortable. I want us to be like what we used to be before. I’m not sure about my own feelings too. I’m so sorry, unnie,” Seohyun carefully empties her heart. She secretly glanced at Hyoyeon, and the latter just let out a faint smile while patted on her hand.

“I understand, Seohyun ah. Don’t be sorry to me, I’m the one who supposed to apologize to you for making you feel uncomfortable. I’m sorry,”, she said as she apologized. She then slowly got up from the couch. “Good night, Seohyun ah. Don’t sleep too late, okay? You have an early schedule on tomorrow morning,”, she said before she turned her heels and heading towards her bedroom without waiting for Seohyun’s reply.

“Good night, unnie. I’m sorry..,” she slowly said to herself while watching Hyoyeon walking towards her room with a heavy heart.

After the day Hyoyeon made her confession to Seohyun, she felt so heartbroken and slowly lost her self-confidence and hope in love. Their lives also has completely turned into 360 degrees. Hyoyeon wasn’t on her usual self anymore. The used to be bubbly and cheerful girl has become a quiet and gloomy girl. Whenever Seohyun returns to home, Hyoyeon quickly returned to her bedroom and just stayed in there for hours. She rarely being at home, and sometimes spending her time hanging out with her other close friend, Min who was her childhood friend and also her classmate from Incheon Dancing Academy.

Seohyun started to feel guilty and regret for saying those words of rejection to her on last time. She felt so empty when she returned home, and she has nobody to ranting about her tiredness and to update on what happened to her everyday. She felt that she slowly losing her best friend, and she misses her a lot. But, she still couldn’t sort her own feelings towards Hyoyeon. Part of her wanted to give herself a try to accept Hyoyeon’s feelings, but another part of her tried to accept the fact that Hyoyeon was only her best friend and like a sister to her. She felt so confused and frustrated to herself.

“Urghhh! Kim Hyoyeon, why are you doing this to me?,” she groaned frustratedly while ruffling her hair into a mess.

“Hello! Earth to Seo Ju Hyun!,”, a loud voice startles her from a deep thought. She was in a middle of having her lunch at SMTown Cafe with her two best friend unnies, Kim Taeyeon and Tiffany Hwang. The two of them were members in their trio group called ‘TaeTiSeo’.

“Uhmm.. s-sorry Fany unnie. What did you say just now?,” she said as she stuttered.

“Aigoo, Seohyun ah! Are you in love with someone? We have been talking to you for hours just now, but you seems like spacing out. What happened to you, huh?,” Tiffany replied as she playfully smirked.

“No, I’m not, unnie. I was just thinking about something,” she reasoned.

“Eyyy.. don’t lie to us, Hyunnie. We know you well, though,” Taeyeon’s turn to interrogate her. Seohyun let out a long sigh.

“It’s just.. Aishh.. I don’t know on how to tell you this, unnies,” Seohyun said frustratedly.

“Let me guess, is it about Hyoyeon? Your housemate a.k.a your BFF, am I right? Am I right?,” Tiffany asked with a grin. Seohyun slowly nodded and sighed.

“Ya! You scares me, babe! Are you a fortune teller or what?,” Taeyeon playfully said while eyeing her group member a.k.a her American girlfriend from head to toe. Tiffany laughed while slapping her arm as she found it funny.

“So what was about her? Did she confess her feelings to you?,” Tiffany asked as just randomly guess. Again, their maknae just nodded. Tiffany and Taeyeon were surprised at first, but then they eventually smiled as they reminiscing the moment they confessed to each other back then.

“Seohyun ah, let me ask you one thing. Do you, even have a slightest, or tiny bit of feelings for her?, I mean, besides regarding her as your best friend, housemates or something?,” it’s Taeyeon’s turn to ask this time. Seohyun paused for a while before she answered the lead singer’s question.

“I.. I don’t at first, unnie. But, eventually I feel like I miss everything about her. Her laugh, her concern, her dorkiness, her care, her smile.. Aishh…,” she said in frustration. The TaeNy couple smiled upon hearing her answer.

“That, my dear, we called it ‘falling in love with your best friend’,” Tiffany said as she laughed.

“Am.. am I?,” Seohyun replied. The TaeNy couple nodded in unison.

“Just go and get her back before it’s too late, maknae. Update us with the good news later,” Taeyeon said as she smiled and winked at her.

“You think I should do that?,” she asked for certainty. Taeyeon’s cheerful face suddenly dropped upon hearing her words.

“Yah! Do you want me to spank your for not listening to what I have said just now?,” Taeyeon snapped at her, but she clearly didn’t mean it. She just felt frustrated when their maknae still contemplating on her own feelings.

“Taengoo ah, don’t talk harsh on her. Give her some time to sort this things out,” Tiffany scolded.

“You know I don’t mean it, babe,” Taeyeon replied as she pouted. Tiffany just giggled on her childish act.

“Arasso, unnies. I will do it tonight. I hope she will come home tonight. It’s been three days since she’s not coming back home,” Seohyun said.

“I hope she didn’t find another love interest since you have rejected her,” Taeyeon sarcastically said, and she yelped in pain after earning a pinch on her lap from her beloved girlfriend.

“I.. I hope so,” Seohyun replied sadly.

“Just go home, Hyo. Don’t make things complicated. I know you feel frustrated on her, but that wasn’t the right way to treat her like that. You can’t force someone to love you like you do,” Min said. Hyoyeon was sitting at the balcony, staring mindlessly on the night view of the metropolitan city. She sighed, and walking back inside the living room. She have stayed at Min’s apartment for three days as she needs some time to clear her mind.

“I don’t want to be reminded on what we have been through together for the past years. I can be crazy, you know. For nine years I kept this feeling inside, and it took seconds just to crush it like that. I can’t stay with her anymore, Min. Please, let me stay with you for a few days. I will try to find another place to stay,” she replied. Min just shook her head and sighed. She really didn’t have a heart to reject a request from her miserable friend.

“Arasso. You can stay here as long as you want. Just please, I hope that you can think about of what I have been told you. Don’t drag this matter too long. Just try to settle it nicely with her, arasso?,” Min said.

“I will try,” she replied. “I need to go back home to take some clothes. I have run out of clothes to wear on tomorrow,” she replied.

“Arasso. Drive safely,” Min said. With that, Hyoyeon heading to her room to take her belongings and the car keys.

Seohyun glanced at the wall clock, and it’s already 11.11 p.m. She sighed, knowing that Hyoyeon will not coming back home for another day.

“I guess, she’s already giving up on me,” she mumbles sadly. She was about to get up from the couch when suddenly she heard someone was inserting the passcode of the door.

“Only me and Hyo unnie know the passcode. But, it can’t be her, right?,” she mumbles. She suddenly felt scared, afraid that maybe a thief tried to break into the house. She ran to her room, and tried to find something that she could use as a weapon. She finally found a baseball bat which Joo Hyuk gave to her as a present.

“Noona, since you are sometimes stayed alone, use this as a weapon to protect you from any harm,” he said. They were at the shooting location, filming the drama together.

“Thanks Joo Hyuk ah. That’s very nice of you,” she thanked him.

“Don’t mention, noona. I gave the same to my girlfriend too. She stayed alone, so I’m worried about her,” he replied.

“Aigoo.. She’s so lucky to have a protective boyfriend like you, Joo Hyuk ah,” Seohyun said, causing the latter blushed profusely. Seohyun laughed at his act and the two then continued to discuss about the scene which they’re going to be filmed later.

Seohyun slowly walked towards the door while holding the baseball bat. She heard the person still inserting the passcode, and after a few attempt, the person successfully opened the door. Right after the person who wears a black hoodie and pants entered, Seohyun waited for the right time to attack the person.

“PAKK!”

“Argghh… y-yah!,” the person cried in pain and suddenly fell on the floor.

“Omo! Hyo unnie!,”

“Urghh..,” Hyoyeon groaned in pain while holding her head. She felt a cold sensation on her head as an ice pack has been put on it. She was lying on the couch, and her sight still blurred as she felt dizzy due to the effect of being hit on her head.

“Hyo unnie, gwenchana?,” Seohyun asked worriedly.

“W-what happen? W-why I got hit on the head?,” she said weakly. Seohyun suddenly cried and hugged her.

“I-I’m sorry, unnie. I thought you’re a thief who wanted to break into the house. I was accidentally hit your head with baseball bat,” she said between her sobbings.

“M-mworago?,” she replied as she was in confused state.

“I.. I hit your head, unnie. I thought you’re a thief,” she replied.

“Y-ya, Seo Ju Hyun! D-do I look like a thief to you?,” Hyoyeon asked, she felt a bit hurt. Seohyun nodded while sobbing.

“I can’t believe you!,” she said, and she tried to get up when Seohyun tighten the hug.

“You looked like the thief that has stolen my heart,” she shyly mumbled as she buried her face onto Hyoyeon’s neck.

“W-what did you say?,” she asked in confused. Seohyun then slowly lifted her face. She then pointed her finger at Hyoyeon, and did a love gesture with her finger. She buried her face back on Hyoyeon’s neck because she was too shy to confess her feelings. Hyoyeon furrowed her brows, still didn’t get of what she was doing, but then it slowly hits her.

“If you have a high patience in your heart, things you desire will slowly coming back to you, Hyo ah,” Min said.

She remembered on what Min had told her last time. She eventually smiled, and wrapped her arms around the younger girl.

“Thank you,” she said. Seohyun snuggled up against her chest and tighten the hug.

“Please don’t leave me again, Hyo unnie. I feel miserable without you. I know you were mad at me for not returning your love before. But, now I realized that I really need you the most in my life,” she earnestly said.

“I don’t mad at you at all, Juhyun ah. How can I get mad at the person I love?,” Hyoyeon replied. “I just want to have some time to think of what I have done to you before. That’s why I didn’t want to come home. I feel so ashamed with myself, and I feel ashamed on you,” she added. Seohyun lifted her face, and stared on Hyoyeon’s face. She caressed her face gently.

“There’s nothing to be ashamed of, Hyo unnie. Now that we have already known about each other’s feelings, let’s make it work, arasso?,” she said as she smiled.

“Yeah, let’s make it work. Ermmm.. Can I get a kiss?,” she said jokingly.

“Y-yah! That’s too soon, you ert!,” Seohyun snapped at her and hit her arm.

“Ouch! Ya! You’ve hurt me. I thought my skull almost got a crack earlier. I need some medication to cure my head injury…,” Hyoyeon was about to continue her silly ranting when suddenly Seohyun leaned closer and pecked on her lips.

“T-there? Satisfied?,” she said as her face flushed in red. Hyoyeon made her poker face and shook her head. Seohyun then shooting her icy glare at the latter, causing her grinning and showing a peace sign to her. She pulled Seohyun by her arm, and wrapped her arms around the younger girl.

“Let’s sleep like this tonight. I miss you so much, you know. I barely sleep for three nights just thinking about you and us,” she said.

“Let’s get to your room. You need to have a proper place to sleep and get a rest,” Seohyun suggested.

“Ah, I like that.. I mean, that’s better..,” she said as she grinned. Seohyun just shook her head, and helped the older girl to get up from the couch.
