truthfully, youngae's got the name of an elderly woman but the soul of a total dingbat. there is nothing smooth or remotely cool about this chick: from her mannerisms to her cooky speech impediment (she stutters if she's super, duper excited), one can only wonder, "how did you get this far in life, by yourself?"

strangers would probably label her as "neurotic" yet despite the poor misconception of hre's resident sweetie-pie, youngae isn't really aware of all the judgmental remarks from others. besides, the only time youngae actually cares about another's opinion is when she asks for it. to clarify further, youngae cares a great deal about people but only when they're nice and so forth. if they're mean-natured or cold even, she'd rather avoid them at all costs and you can witness her gracelessly ducking and weaving her way out of their path. but please make sure there is nothing in the way of her escaping because nam youngae could trip over thin-air and still land on her bottom at any given moment; it never fails.

youngae can brighten up an entire room just by being present and she can socialize with even the most awkward of souls. if youngae was to win a superlative, it would be "most likely to talk your head off". and even then, while most would be annoyed by such a trait, youngae doesn't pay any mind and chatters on and on and on.

but deep down in the crevices of the high spirited woman, lies an insecurity of never being quite good enough. she's already turning twenty-three and most others around her age have already debuted onto the k-pop scene. heck, even berri bell—the group she was sure she could have shined so brightly with—contained girls much younger than she yet she was the one still under "trainee" status. if it wasn't for the supply of tissues stashed under her bed, youngae would be soaking the sleeves of her shirts instead. tears constantly flow when she's got the chance to be alone, when she's able to reflect on the state of her life. sure, she didn't expect her dream of debuting to happen in a day but after slaving away for over a year, it's hard to not feel so dejected.

jung ryeyeon may be an ice queen, comes off a bit feisty, totally blunt and perhaps even "cut-throat" but that's not all there is to the older woman. besides, isn't this how a reign-ing queen acts? all poise and confident. youngae likes to complain about how she is one of the oldest trainees but how dare she forget about ryeyeon? "yah! again with that crap!" ryeyeon would screech as youngae dramatically points out a non-existent gray strand within her aqua masses. "ah, you're right," youngae would simper before adding, "you're the ahjumma." youngae has come to develop a sisterly love for ryeyeon, often reminding her of riye even to the point of getting ryeyeon to show her softer side.

if youngae thought that mia was intimidating, then yue is the shiver that hits you when you get out of the steaming-hot shower. she isn't friendly, warm or even socialable which makes her all the more strange to youngae. despite it, she's super talented and it is all thanks to sm's rigorous training criteria which makes her a "rival" in a sense. but now that yue is hre's trainee, youngae wonders if yue will ever adjust? the latter tries to ignore the judgmental looks whenever she's called on to do a dance move and the eye-rolls if she sings in the wrong key from yue but it doesn't seem to fix whatever issue is brewing between the two. still, youngae continues to be nice and whenever yue decides she wants to open up, just like mia and ryeyeon have, she'll be waiting with open, welcoming arms.

just like youngae, yoon mia has had a taste of cold rejection and all for a girl group who isn't doing all that well according to hre, themselves. despite it, it still stings and mia can relate. mia was once upon a time very scary and youngae found her suuuuper intimidating but that all changes when the two of them are onstantly thrown together in practices or evaluations and she witnesses a side of mia that others have not. youngae is even more in awe when she hears mia rap or watch her dance and the older woman really wishes she could be that cool—mia cool. mia starts to confide in youngae and youngae greets her worries with open arms and a sense of comfort.

seo taeri rounds out the colorful gang with her bright pink tresses and wild energy. she just wants to be famous and really, one cannot blame her when she's got a face like that. taeri is gorgeous and all of korea would totally be enamored if they knew hre possessed such a vital weapon of beauty. taeri seems to contain a lot chaotic energy and a desparation for fame that she hadn't quite acquired being a fashion instagrammer but despite it, she tries extremely hard and fairs well during training sessions.

shin sarang has the vocal range of a k-pop veteran—well, okay, she's not at that level but everyone is sure that after a year or two of debut, she'll be a "force to reckon' with". sarang could be described as an "old soul" with a lot of maturity stemming from her strict upbringing at home and uncanny ability of attracting older friends (aside from taeri, who she is glad to call 'a friend in her age bracket'). sarang also was able to convince taeri, mia and seoyeon to dye their hair awesome colors so that she and youngae wouldn't stick out like sore thumbs. ryeyeon remains unconvinced but promises she'' rock bleached locks, "one day soon" and yue is just too scary to ask.
