mia stands at 163cm and weighs roughly 47kg. she has a petite frame, complimented by her hourglass figure and fuller thighs. she used to have really long hair and wouldn't let scissors anywhere near her, but once in a fit of rage she chopped it off to her shoulders herself and now she's obsessed (obv after a stylist made it look nicer). her hair is currently black blue. she has really dark circles around her eyes from all those sleepless nights, but covers them with concealer all the time. mia has standard and upper lobe piercings on both ears, and a helix piercing on her right ear. she also has a few tattoos one two three four

mia seems rather mysterious. she doesn't talk much and it always seems like she's in her own little world. not many people know much about her, since she doesn't like opening up to others. she is well-known for her resting face, which gives of the vibe that she is constantly mad and annoyed at everyone and everything; that's why she does come off a little intimidating. well that plus the fact that she has a bad temper - yeah, she doesn't talk much, but if you push her buttons the right way you will unleash her inner demon. mia is always cooped up in the studio, working on her songs, not paying attention to anything else. she spends so much time in there that it is practically her second home. it's like her only care in the world are her songs.

mia is not necessarily shy, she is just reserved. she has trust issues, so that's why it isn't easy for her to open up and let people in. she much more prefers being by herself and getting lost in her own thoughts, than being out with people, even if they are her friends. she isn't constantly annoyed, in contrary to popular belief, she just has a resting face which she can't help. her bad temper stems from a large build-up of anger which she didn't express at the right time, but insted burried it in and now since there's so much of it she tends to burst at smaller things. she has a strong passion for her music and could spend days locked up in a studio doing nothing but working on songs. mia is very dedicated to her art and works really hard at perfecting it. it does seem that it's all she cares about and that she doesn't give her attention to anything else, but that isn't true. she is very observant and pays a lot of attention to even the smallest details about the people and happenings around her. she does care, it just doesn't seem like it due to her whole demeanor. she is very protective of the ones she loves and would do anything for them.

BACKGROUND
yoon mia was born in the small town of gampo, into a pretty dysfunctional family. primarily dysfunctional because of her alcoholic mother. the only thing mia would say about her mom, since she hates talking about her, is that she cared more about the bottle than her own children. her mother was barely present in their life and when she was there, she was under the influence and all she did was yell. mia's dad on the other hand was a very good man, always on her and her sisters' side, protecting them from any harm. she was a real daddy's girl. the family didn't exactly make ends meet in terms of their financial situation, but they made it work. the dad didn't want his daughters to be home that much so they wouldn't witness their mom in that state, so by their wishes he signed them up for dance classes when mia was eight and misol 13. when mia was about 12, her mother left the family and never looked back. it was around that time that mia got more closed off - she wasn't particularly outgoing before but the situation made it worse. she didn't have much friends before, but at this point she practically broke off all of her friendships. since she refused to talk about how she felt to anyone, even her dad and sister, he recommended she started writing down her thoughts and feelings. she took his advice and began writing songs, documenting what she was going through.
misol, her sister, had always dreamt of becoming an idol and decided to audition for high rise that same year. she got accepted and moved to seoul to live with their aunt jisoo, in order to train. even though she didn't leave the family, but moved to be closer to her dream, mia felt like misol was the second person to abandon their family - even if they talked daily and visited each other on weekends. it was much later that mia realized that her mom was the reason for her trust and abandonment issues. by 2014 misol had already debuted and mia was really proud of her, but becoming an idol wasn't exactly on mia's bucketlist, though she did dream about becoming a famous rapper and producer. her fondness of rapping was growing by the day and she practiced it by herself in her room.
when mia finished middle school, her dad wanted her to move to seoul to live with misol and jisoo, and go to high school there. she was really against this idea because she didn't want to leave him all by himself, but she finally agreed to it after he promised he'd move to seoul too as soon as he paid of some debts he had and earned enough money to get an apartment for his family. mia moved to seoul at the end of summer '15. she had always loved her aunt so much so she enjoyed spending time with her, but made sure to visit her dad as often as possible.

TRAINEE history
ever since misol started training at high rise, she kept trying to get mia to audition as well. she would always compliment her dancing and song-writing skills, later her rapping as well, but mia didn't want to hear it. misol was so sure that mia would be a star in the idol world, so in 2015, not long after mia moved to seoul, she invited mia to the high rise building on a little tour of the place. the 'tour' was a facade, but in reality it was sort of an intervention where she had the other ursa members persuade mia into auditioning and even had her dance in front of their dance coach. the coach also advised mia to audition and she finally agreed to it but on one condition - that her best friend taejoon auditions with her. she thought he'd say no since he's pretty similar to her and it took misol years to persuade her, but he was down with it; and so the two auditioned for high rise ent. that fall.
mia quickly became known around the company, especially being misol's younger sister. she gave her all to training, spent day and night practicing rapping and dancing, and trying to work on her vocals in which she was seriously lacking. since she didn't have access to a studio and she really wanted to record the songs she wrote, aunt jisoo rented out a small studio for mia and taejoon where they would spend their time when they weren't at practice. only a year into the training taejoon debuted with the xx. mia couldn't have been more proud and she got really excited about her debut possibly nearing as well. not long after, high rise began creating a new girl group, berri bell, and mia was chosen as a member. she practiced with them for over a year until the concept was finally decided - cute and fun. obviously this wasn't mia's cup of tea but she had hopes the group would eventually change their concept into one she'd fit more, but the company decided she wasn't a good fit for where they were going with the group and just like that mia went back to being a trainee. no news about a nearing debut, while all her friends were getting theirs.
