Second Date Help
I need help. I'm not going on a second date ... I've not had a first date with someone to have the second date ... but I thought I'd ask here and get an opinion. Two of my characters in my story are going on their second date, and I need to get something pretty damn good. Picture this
If you are a guy, then imagine you are a girl. If you are a girl, then lucky you, you don't need to imagine anything. A guy you are seeing asks you on a second date. Your first date was a double date with your friend and her boyfriend in a very nice, inexpensive (read: not "cheap" and tacky, quite nice) restaurant, and now he's asking if you want a second date with just the two of you. You say "yes"; you enjoyed your first date, he made good company and whatever, so of course a second date would be on the cards. The entirity of your date is on a Saturday, mid morning (say 11am) and starts off with a trip to an art gallery with street artists (graffiti artists and the like), followed by lunch at some kind of cafe, a stroll through the park and watching an outdoor performance of some theatre production, like a play by an amateur Shakespeare company or something, maybe dinner at some small diner or restaurant (nothing classy, but not like some freeway diner thing), then you ... "end the night"? I'm saying that not as a euphemism for (although that could well be a part of it) but rather because I haven't planned that far ahead yet. For all I know, it may involve a game of Laser Tag or paintballing or an evening of basket weaving or even a ritual sacrifice of a hobo whilst on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I honestly don't know. So, with that in your mind:
- Would that be a nice date for you to go on?
- Would that (and his gentlemanly, kind, sweet behaviour, because that is his nature) result in a third date?
- What would you think of him if that was our date?
Also, what would you suggest as a good second date? The stock date (dinner and a movie) is out. I want something interesting and well thought. I've asked a couple of my friends though private messages (you can still answer here though) but ... any feedback would be much appreciated. If I don't reply to you, I'm sorry. I am not ignoring you or your ideas, but I will make a note of everything here and play around with things. There are no stupid ideas as well. I don't want anyone saying "Well, it might sound stupid" because it might, but it might then set off a chain reaction that makes me think of something that would be perfect.
