Eight;
I was working at the counter one day when Jongdae and his manager stopped by for a late lunch. Jongdae was in his usually hoodie and facemask, and his manager asked for them to be seated in the back corner. Jongdae sat with his back to the rest of the restaurant before taking off the mask and flashing Chanyeol a smile. "Oh! It's you!" I heard Chanyeol gasp and Jongdae brought his finger to his lips. I already recognized Jongdae by his clothes and the way he walked. The hoodie was familiar to me, because he had sent me the link for it online, asking me which color I thought was better. It gave me a feeling of satisfaction to see that he had picked the color I liked and I couldn't help but laugh a little as I watched Chanyeol's eyes get even bigger. A moment later, Chanyeol returned to the counter, tossing the order slip at me to input into the computer. "Your boyfriend wants you to take your lunch break now so you can eat with him," he teased, leaning forward and planting his elbows on the counter. "Who's here?" Jongin asked. He had been clearing one of the table near the door and had eyed the interaction curiously. "Inna's boyfriend," Chanyeol replied at once, winking at Jongin. He probably thought that now he had an accomplice to tease me, but Jongin only frowned, turning to stare holes in the back of Jongdae's hooded head. "Who?" he asked bluntly. "Kim Jongdae," Chanyeol answered, not knowing that he was digging himself into a hole. "Chen. Are you a fan too? Isn't his voice so beautiful?" "Mediocre," Jongin grunted, before pushing Chanyeol away. "Get back to work or I'll tell my brother you were using work time to be a fanboy." "You're no fun," Chanyeol pouted, moving away with a pout. Jongin turned to me and sighed. "Go on break, Inna. I'll take over for now. What kind of noodles do you want for lunch?" Wondering why Jongin was being so…nice to me, I gave him my order and then left my nametag behind the counter. "Be back in an hour, okay?" Jongin said, taking the nametag from me. I just nodded, too weirded out by his behavior. When I approached Jongdae's table, he automatically pulled me down to sit next to him. "Inna, this is my manager, Heechul hyung," he said excited. Jongdae's manager had milky white skin, a very unique fashion sense, and hair that almost touched his shoulders. He was still strikingly handsome and his eyes were catlike, like Jongdae's. I greeted Heechul politely, bowing as best as I could while seated. Heechul squinted at me. "So you're the girl who's been getting my Dae into all sorts of trouble," he sighed. "Hyung!" Heechul rolled his eyes, face breaking into a smile. "At least you have good taste," he grumbled at Jongdae. Taking that to be a compliment, I blushed and bowed again. "Hyung, you are so embarrassing," Jongdae huffed. "This is why I don't like to go places with you." "Excuse me, you should be thankful that I let you go anywhere without me after all the headlines you caused," Heechul snapped back, flipping his bangs out of his eyes dramatically. Okay, I could see how this Heechul person was able to keep Jongdae in check now. Chanyeol brought over our food a few minutes later and we all dug in. Jongdae was chatting about his new mini album, and the four songs he had just finished recording the day before. "I just came from dance practice, so I'm starving," he told me as he practically inhaled his noodles. "Jongdae is always starving," Heechul corrected, eating at normal human speed. After we finished eating, Heechul pulled a manila envelope out of his bag. "This is the contract for the music video," he said, handing it over to me. "Look it over, sign it, and get it back to us by Friday morning. We're shooting next week, dates listed on there. If th
