Chapter 5
Her brain felt muddled and her limbs heavy.
When she tried to lift her left arm, only her fingers twitched. Something thick was wrapped around her wrist, keeping her from moving.
But, wasn't she moving? Trembles ran through her body, similar to the movement of a car.
The more seconds that passed, the more her consciousness returned. She twisted her neck back and forth, trying to see where she was, what was going on. But she couldn't. Her eyes simply refused to open.
Joohee felt like crying due to her helplessness.
"-other one-"
Was that a voice?
Terror ran through her veins, her body becoming cold and numb.
Whose voice was that?
She felt butterflies fluttering atop her right elbow, one bit her.
Do butterflies bite?
"Ke... -oing"
Where was she?
The light above her was growing, encasing her limited vision in pristine white.
How long has she been here?
Jihoon felt like a living stone. His eyes were wide open, showcasing anger he felt flooding his system, but he couldn't move anything, not even his tongue. The thick brown leather straps attaching him to the uncomfortable table were too strong for him to break.
Dark eyes fruitlessly followed the movements of the white clad nurse. He watched as she pulled out a thin syringe from a stainless steel desk. He refused to take his eyes off the woman and take in the small white room enclosing him.
He watched as she pulled out a small mason jar shaped container from a separate drawer, piercing its thin top with the syringe, pulling out the deep red liquid.
As he watched the previously empty syringe fill with the questionable liquid, he felt fear rise in his throat. He was helpless.
The woman turned to him, never speaking any word
