Chapter 4
She ended up standing there for a decent ten minutes before the mother of the young family looked up. She gave the young girl a confused look. "What are you doing?"
The girl unconsciously tightened her hold on her tiny suitcase. She took a deep breath before telling the woman, "I'm moving in with dad."
Something flashed behind the mothers eyes, her twins and husband going silent and watched with amusement. "He's getting you now?"
As quickly as the hurt from the words touched the young girls heart, she brushed it off. She knew that woman would react in such a way. It was true that she didn't really care, and she also knew the woman who birthed her was barely holding in her excitement at the chance of finally getting rid of her.
"He's waiting outside," her normally cheerful voice sounded robotic, she was doing everything in her power to hide the waver from her voice.
Part of her wanted her mother to scream and cry and tell her she was being ridiculous and that there was no way she was letting her move in with the man she left so many years ago. That she wanted her to stay in that house with her and that they could start doing more things together like a normal mother and daughter.
