Kangin: The Strangeness Behind Donghae

While it was clear as day that Eunhyuk was the jealous-possessive type, it only drove Jinyoung to desire to find out what kind of person Donghae was and how he reacted to the jealousy. Though, to be completely honest, it was clear that Jinyoung's original purpose in finding out the spark behind his parents' romance had begun to fade.

"What do you mean Eunhyuk was acting all clingy and different from his appearance?" Kangin frowns.

Jinyoung pauses and gives the elder an odd look, "Wasn't he? Someone told me that Eunhyuk was easily jealous and slightly possessive of Donghae!"

The boy wanted to keep Yesung's identity a secret since Yesung had seem extremely hesitant to give out a negative view of Eunhyuk from his perspective.

Kangin gives Jinyoung a look of sorrow, "He's never acted that way in front of me, but I guess I wasn't with him all the time. Even if that was remotely true, he had good reason to. After all, Eunhyuk wasn't the one that was lying and keeping secrets."

"You're being extra sweet today," Eunhyuk chuckles as he reached for his cup of hot tea, lightly sipping on it as he gazes into Donghae's eyes.

Donghae just allows his lips to curl into a smile, "You're overthinking it. I'm always like this."

The two of them were sitting across from one another at a fancy restaurant, their second date. Unknown to everyone else, things were a little tense. After a slightly disasterous first date, the two still felt a little awkward around each other, Eunhyuk more so than Donghae.

"You aren't mad at me for what happened last time?" Eunhyuk speaks softly, a little afraid to look into the other's eyes.

However, the boy just smiles and shakes his head, "Nothing happened that was permanent. I know you didn't mean to."

Earlier that night, Donghae had asked Eunhyuk to a date at a four-star restaurant near where they lived. He had explained that he wanted to make sure things were no longer tense between the two, and he wanted their love to continue to blossom, not wanting them to grow more distant because of some little mistake that wasn't the fault of either of them.

In other terms, he wanted a clean start.

Eunhyuk could see it too, and he was extremely relieved that someone he found so important to him didn't blame him for what happened. He loved seeing Donghae smile, and he loved holding him in his arms. He couldn't help but feel the butterflies when he was with him, and his mind was never rid of the warm-hearted, sincere boy.

He really loved him.

Everyone could tell.

"You!" a loud voice suddenly called, a female came rushing up to their table, immediately disrupting the loving atmosphere, "Why are you here with him?"

The girl pointed accusingly at Eunhyuk, her voice full of venom.

"This is?" he frowns a little, confused as to who this girl was to be looking at him with so much hatred. What had he ever done to her? Did she know Donghae?

"Jaeyoon?" Donghae blinks a few times before turning away from her, clearly not giving her his full attention, "You shouldn't be here."

Immediately, Eunhyuk felt his heartbeat drop the tiniest bit. Donghae knew who she was. They have a past, and judging by the girl's reactions, it must have taken a downwards spiral.

The girl known as Jaeyoon seemed to grow more furious, "What are you trying to do? Are you trying to erase everything that happened between us? You told me loved me!"

"Loved?" Eunhyuk's voice falters, "I thought you said you had never dated anyone before."

She scoffs, "Once a liar, always a liar. Never believe what this guy tries to say. Never dated? That's ridiculous. He dates everyone. He tells everyone he loves them. Then, he dumps them like they're trash. I can't believe I was so stupid to fall for someone like him!"

"Song Jaeyoon!" Donghae glares at the girl, "That's enough from you."

His action startles Eunhyuk. Not because of how intense the look was, but more so because Donghae had never shown such a dark side to Eunhyuk before.

But even if Donghae suddenly seemed to change completely, there was one thing that Eunhyuk couldn't ignore.

Donghae hadn't denied anything yet.

"No, that's not enough!" she snaps back, "Do you remember what ended up happening to all the people you've dated? Do you value any of the relationships you've had? Or are we all just nothing to you? Will he be nothing to you too?"

Her eyes fell upon Eunhyuk, and he felt his blood run cold. Was this girl telling the truth? He couldn't help but feel himself starting to believe her words. With the reaction that she was triggering from Donghae, he knew that even if it wasn't the complete truth, there was definitely at least some truth.

That's the only reason why her words were striking Donghae's nerves.

"Donghae?" his voice was soft as he looked at him for answers.

He wanted the boy to tell him that her words were lies. He wanted the boy to reassure him that he doesn't throw away people like they are nothing. He wanted something, anything. An excuse. A confirmation. A denial.

Anything would be fine.

"You better stop this little ridiculous relationship of yours," Jaeyoon raises an eyebrow, "Unless you want to get hurt. He dates all sorts of people. Many who might come back and get you. Take my word for it."

Her words made Donghae stand up abruptly. If the scene was portrayed in a cartoon, a large flame of fiery anger would be casted around him. If looks could kill, then she would be long dead.

This type of Donghae, Eunhyuk was unfamiliar with.

It just seemed wrong.

"Leave before I really get angry," his voice low.

Eunhyuk swallows hard. Was the Donghae standing in front of him "not angry"? If this wasn't him angry, he couldn't even begin to imagine what an angry version of him would be like.

Just who is the boy in front of him?

She pulls down the collar of her shirt a little, revealing a large scar beside her shoulder, "His previous freak of a boyfriend did this to me, and this man, my supposed 'boyfriend', didn't do a thing to help me. I'm going to therapy every day because his previous ex-girlfriend would stalk me every day and every night because I was going out with her 'soulmate'. I'm - "

"SONG JAEYOON," Donghae's voice boomed once more before he reaches over and shoves her in the shoulder.

"Donghae!" Eunhyuk stands up as well, alarmed at his boyfriend's actions. Where was the sweet boy that he knows and loves?

Jaeyoon's eyes narrow some as she hears Eunhyuk's reaction, but she doesn't get a chance to interject before she sees Donghae's killer expression. Collecting herself, she shoves by Donghae as she finally leaves.

"Of course. You and your sick games never change."

"You're kidding," Jinyoung blurts, clearly unable to believe that his own father had such a darker side to him, "He would never hurt anyone. He would never act out like that. That girl must've been lying!"

"Lying or not," Kangin replies, "It sure took its toll on Eunhyuk. He became a lot more paranoid about what was happening around him. The girl did say that his past lovers tended to come back to hurt his present relationship."

The boy grips the pen in his hand tightly, "I would never be able to forgive him if he got my other dad hurt."

Kangin smiles a little, "I don't think that's an issue. I don't recall Eunhyuk ever getting hurt because of Donghae, but there was an incident in which Donghae got hurt because of Eunhyuk, but Donghae had long forgiven him."

"Could you tell me what happened?"

The elder just shrugs, "I'm not too clear on that situation. I was out of town. You'll have to ask someone else."
