CHARACTERS:

Kim Soo Hyun

"It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise within us, only to be crushed by grim reality. It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so unreal and impossible beyond ways unimaginable to me.  But you became the one thing that gave me the strength I didn't even know I had.  You pushed me to pursue these ridiculous dreams.  And even now, I'm still trying. So don't tell me that you have no dream because you are my dream."

 21 years old; he works as a delivery boy for IU's father's company.  Finds his passion in music and spends his free time song writing and playing music.  He wants to be a musician.  Has no father and a loving mother.  Carefree but works hard; the optimist

IU 

"You're so ridiculously positive and dumb and clumsy...all the things I hate most,  but they're the things that make you a beautiful person to my eyes.  So that's why I'm trying to hate you, even though that's just more the reason to fall in love with you."

works as a manager for her father's company; wants to be a musician; rich; no mother and a very busy father; cold, indifferent; pessimistic and doesn't believe in anything, not even her own dreams; father wants her to marry a rich man like Kyungsoo 

Kyungsoo/ D.O.

"Her smile could wash away a thousand doubts and light up an entire room."

Rich; chaebol; works as important director in father's company; has everything; family, money...but all he wants is happiness.  Handsome and sucessful, but a man who has no purpose or dream in life.

Hyungsik 

"If a couple that's in love are called love birds, then would a couple that fights be called angry birds?"

Kim Soo Hyun's and Myungsoo's best friend and they both value their friendship above all else; silly and loves to joke; also a delivery boy with Soo Hyun; he's quite the playboy but when he sees IU, he immediately does not like her for her rudeness towards Soo Hyun and him. Loves music as much as Soo Hyun.

Myungsoo 

"They told me to make her fall in love I had to make her laugh.  But everytime she laughs I'm the one who falls in love instead."

Works at the coffee shop; best friends with Hyungsik and Soo Hyun.  He has a crush on Ji Yeon and relentless chases her.  Loves to play on his guitar and constantly serenades girls with it.  His dream is to start a band with his best friends.  Bright and cheerful

Jiyeon 

"Maybe I'm scared because you've been sweeter to me than anyone I've met.  You're the first thing I think of when I wake up and the last thing I think about when I lay down."

Rich and IU's bestie; works as a jelewery designer; she takes a liking to Soo Hyun and doesn't know IU likes him also. Hyungsik knows who she likes and is constantly making fun of her; she is sweet but can be cold at times.  Sacrifices anything for her friend IU.
