sunggyu watched with curious eyes as a very cute looking boy sulked in front of a admittedly pretty woman, the boy’s expression a little too down for someone who was supposed to be on a date. and sunggyu, as a waiter and server -- should go see why a customer was so chest fallen, that was his job after all, to keep the customers happy. or rather that’s what he told himself as he made his way over towards the table.

“is there a problem?” he asked politely, causing the two to look up at him. the cute boy blinked at him in surprise, his dark brown eyes holding shock and the woman just frowned. sunggyu shifted his gaze from the boy, to her more directly and she crossed her arms over her chest.

“my food is disgusting,” she spat, “i don’t even know why he took me here.”

“you said you wanted to go here.”

“when?”

“this morning, on the phone.”

she let out a snort, “as if. listen nam woohyun. you are by far the worst date ever.”

of course the woman dramatically stood and marched off a moment later, leaving the two men to watch her leave with matching expressions of surprise. sunggyu let out a low whistle before turning to the boy, (woohyun) and smiling. “quite the catch there.”

“it was set up by my friends, the date i mean.” the other mumbled, and sunggyu let his tongue click against his teeth before he took the seat in front of the other, woohyun looked at him curiously before sunggyu reached out for a breadstick. “well, waste not want not.”

“aren’t you supposed to be working?” the other asked, amusement laced in his tone and sunggyu let his lips twitch up before he took a bite of the bread. after swallowing he shrugged. “i’m keeping the customer happy.”

“oh?”

“well, i’m trying too.” sunggyu reached out a hand, “kim sunggyu, at your service.”

“nam woohyun,” they shook hands. sunggyu grinned, “and this meal --”

woohyun interrupted him, “i’ll pay for it.”

“no, no, it’s my treat.” sunggyu assured as he retrieved his hand. “in exchange for a proper date later on this week.”

“i think i can agree to that.”
