Chapter 1.

Jooyeon's P.O.V

  It is just another day at our school. Mrs Kim is so busy teaching in front of the class. She probably won’t notice me if I don’t pay attention for a while. A small sigh escapes from my lips as I turn my head over to stare outside the window.

  I stare at the exact bunch of red roses that are withering days after days, no one is taking care of it, not even the school janitors.

They resemble me.

The edge of my lips slightly curls up, chuckling.

“No, you’re not like those withering roses.” Mark snaps. I look over at him, meeting his intent gazes.

“How did you know what I was thinking?” I ask. He sighs at my question.

“Is that even important?”
I blinked.

“What important is that you’re not like them. They’re withering away, cause no one’s taking care of them. But you’re not. You have me. You have all of us. Look around you.” He assures.

“But they don’t know who I really am.” I mumble to myself. I’m sure that I kept my mumble low but he still manages to hear it.

“But I do.” He winks. Gosh, Mark Tuan. My frown turned into a small smile by his breath-taking gesture.

“That’s right, keep smiling.” He messes my hair. I slightly flinch back, glaring at him. I fix my ponytail as soon as he pulls his hand away.

“Do you still do part-time jobs?” He asks. I nod.
“Yup.”

“When will you quit?”
“What a question. I don’t think I’ll ever quit. I have to earn money for my living.”

“You’re only 17 and already working that hard. Aigoo.” He sighs.
“Wae? It’s not that hard. Besides, my boss is hot.” I gave him a cheeky grin. He frowns and nudged my sides.

“Eiii is that why you’re working there every day?”
“Mm maybe.” I giggle. He chuckled, rolling his eyes.

“Hey, you hungry?” Mark asks. Hell yes. I nod eagerly.
“Me too. Let’s go get something to eat.” He said, standing up. I nod again.

He grabs onto my wrist and starts dragging me away.

“Yah, I know that you’re really hungry but please, slow down.” I shake my head disapprovingly at the figure.

“I’m starving-”

“What’s happening there?” I cut him off. We stopped as there were a crowd in the middle of the way.

I’m so curious that I had to squeeze in to take a closer look.

My jaw drops at the scene I found. I feet myself getting angry.

Four guys bullying on a student.

“What the..” I heard Mark mumbles as he saw the scene.

Jerks!

“Wait, isn’t that the new transfer student?” He asks.

I felt my ears turning red as I curled my fingers into a fist.

“Yah, so you’re the new kid?” One of them asks, pushing the new student against the lockers.
“Yah, answer us!” Another push.

I bit on my lips, anger rising within me.

“Give us your lunch money.”

“M-Mark, do something!” I whispered.
“What? No!” He whispered back.

“I-I don’t h-have any..” The new student replies weakly.
“Ohhh, he can talk!” They laugh.
“Don’t lie! Give it to us or you’ll get a good beating.”
“I-i really d-don’t have any..”

Bamm, one of the guys knocked the new student down with a punch.

“Okay.. That’s it!” I mutter under my breath before stepping closer.

“Yeon, no no no-” My friends tried to stop me.
“Y-Yeon, yah I know what you’re thinking. Just don’t-” Mark hisses..

And I jumped into the scene, standing in front of the new guy.

“Yah, what the heck are guys you doing?! Why are you bullying him?! Who do you think you are?!” I yelled on top of my lungs at one of the guy who looks like their leader.

“What did you say? Yah-” One of them, tries to approach me, and the one who I yelled at earlier, stops him. He eyed me furiously.

“Just because you’re strong, doesn’t mean that you can pick on someone who’s not!” I yelled again.
“Kid, you don’t know who you’re dealing with right now don’t you?”
“No I don’t. And I don’t want to! Pathetic jerks..” I glare at every each of them as I squat down, helping the new student to get up.

Mark helps me.

“I’ll let you go this time. You better watch your back.”
“Oooo so scary.” I chuckle.

I ignore his words and drag the new student away.

Jungkook’s P.O.V

“What the heck just happened?” Jimin groans.

I cross my arms, leaning my back against the bench behind the school.

“Yah Jeon Jungkook, why did you stop me from beating her up?” Taehyung asks. I almost laughed.
“You want to ruin your own image by beating a girl up? Fool.” I reply, chuckling.
“Ah, you’re right.” He blinks.

“I know that girl.” Jin states.

We all turned to him. He paused for a moment, thinking.

“Ah! Now I remember! She’s my classmate. No wonder she looks so familiar.” He snaps his fingers.

“Really? What’s her name?” Jimin asks.
“I’m not sure. I never really notice or talk to her before.. Wait.”
We wait as he tries to remember.

“Jung.. Jung..”

“What Jung?!” Taehyung yells.

“Jung Jooyeon!” Jin blurts out.

Ahh so that’s her name..

“Forget the new kid, and put her on our list instead, Jimin.” I said.
“You sure?”
“Heck yeah I’m sure.” I answer.

A sudden weird grumbling noise filled the silence.

“What was that?” I ask, raising an eyebrow.
“My tummy.” Taehyung laughs.
“I’m hungry..” He adds.

“Aigoo, let’s go get something to eat.” Jin said. We agreed.
