"You stopped the nightmares."

Those were her last words to Taehyung before the light finally took over, all was restored.

Yoojung was no longer in his arms, instead, he was in the arms of a man in a lab coat. He blinked once more, adjusting to the blurs surrounding him. There was more than just one person in the room with him, all around him stood worried people in lab coats. In a matter of mere seconds Taehyung finally realised where he was, he was back and reality welcomed him with a warm welcome.

Taehyung's body froze, rock solid. His memory went back to how we ended up on the floor and why there were so many people surrounding him; each step backwards in time sent his mind into a frenzy, the pain washed over his features and the doctor's couldn't help but take a few steps back at his pain-stricken face. He finally remembered- he remembered everything. Why he was here, from the start. Kim Yoojung. The solution to everything. All it took were a few visits into his world for him to forget, forget everything that had happened.

"Yoojung..." The crowd of people slowly dispersed at his request for her, a small path led to a hospital bed. From where he was all he was abe to see were a few tubes dangling out of an unknown body, and then he rose to his feet. There in front of him lay Yoojung, neither dead or alive. Somewhere in between. All different sized tubes attached to her skin, clinging onto every part in order to claim their territory. It seemed somewhat peaceful, those few seconds that lasted before chaos overcame.

Her skin was a deadly pale but to Taehyung it seemed ordinary, he had always seen her like this. Somewhere in between. His cheeks grew hot just in the presence of her again and he couldn't help but shuffle a few inches closer to her; unlike hers, his was beating ferociously. A smile soon took over Taehyung's lips and an uncontrollable force beckoned him to reach for her hand, her limp lifeless hand. That's when it happened.

Chaos returned.

At her touch, an electrifying signal sprawled down his spine, sending shivers crawling out for an escape. Happiness had finally returned to him, and just as quickly it was lost once again. The ominous screen beside the hospital bed sent out a roaring flame of disaster, the line had gone flat. Taehyung had watched enough hospital dramas to understand what this meant, and so had the people around him. Catastrophe.

His cause was easily pushed aside and now all focus was on Yoojung, it was a blur. The movement of everybody around him, at times it would speed up and sometimes everything would be in slow motion. And this was all in the time 76 seconds, or 76.8 if you were to be precise. Taehyung blinked, psychology says that our emotions and feelings can cause us to subconsciously alter our blinking rate. But most of the time psychology was a whole load of bull; for others it was instinct to blink but for him is had become a way for him to recognise whether he was still in reality or not. Unfortunately, this time, he was still living in the present.

Right in front of his eyes the probable love of his life was slowly dying, and why?... Well, there are many possibilities as to why. The root of the problem could be asthma that Yoojung had since she was a 6, or maybe the fact that she should've been dead by now. The glass that had a way to travel into her heart should've killed her, but if it wasn't that then she would've ended up killing herself anyway. In true fact, Taehyung's brother was the root of the problem.

It was before his brother killed himself, he had good reason to hang himself. How would you live with it all? How would you be able to live with the fact that you've just ruined somebody's life? His brother was two years older and found it hard to communicate, and preferred to express things physically. Some sort of autism that Taehyung never really understood nor did he bother to understand. Kim Taeyong had always found Yoojung pretty and delicate, ever since his brother first introduced her to him. Taeyong also found her mean, always leaving him out and running off with his younger brother. Maybe that's why he did it.

It was around ten at night when he saw her, she knocked on the door with worry printed all over her beautiful features. Well, that was the only emotion he could recall, but as usual, Yoojung was here to talk to Taehyung. He had told her that Taehyung was in his room, he lied.

Chapter 9: Oh my gosh I just binge read this story and to be honest I had like no expectations, cause once again tbh I was focusing on the fact Tae and Yoojung were in a story together. But this concept is so thrilling and haunting, and keeps me on the edge. I just hope you finish it soon. It's so good.
