Seohyun just entered her room when her phone rang. She was just staying in her house after they talked about her plan in retiring from the entertainment industry and follow Yonghwa in the States.

She took her phone from that was placed above her vanity dresser and went to her bed

“Hello, unnie? What’s up?” she answered, her manager was on the line

“Seohyun-ah, listen. You’ve got to hear this. This will definitely change your mind” she said from the other line

“What is it, unnie?”

“I talked with a CEO and guess what? They’re planning on making another movie in the next few months. And it’s not a mushy, love story kind of movie, Seohyun-ah, but something more mature. Very mature, perhaps, since they are planning for this movie to be an entry for some film festivals abroad. And the directors are of top rank, nonetheless!” she can hear excitement in her voice as she speak

“Wow!” it was her long-time dream to be directed by those top rank directors

“And here’s the best part…”

“Oh, my God, don’t tell me…”

“Yes, you bet! They wanted you to take the role! Isn’t that great?!”

They shrieked in chorus

“Oh, my God! Oh, my God!” she still could not believe the great news she just heard. It was a dream of any actor or actress to have won at least one award before he/she retires.

It was definitely a chance of a lifetime!

And the knowledge that she was the one chosen by the CEO for the role was making her high.

But the happiness she was feeling was gone like a bubble when her eyes landed on her passport and plane ticket. And her eyes flew on her already packed suitcases.

Yonghwa already flew back to the States a month ago. She was scheduled to follow him next week. They planned to be wed there. He wanted to have a private, solemn wedding

“Hey, are you still there? Why are you silent all of a sudden?” her manager said

“What about Yonghwa?”

“Oh, he’ll understand. Yonghwa is a good man. And it’s not that you’re calling the wedding off, you’re just postponing it. You can retire after this, Seohyun-ah, but never ever let this opportunity pass by. This is a chance of a lifetime!”

“Yes, I know unnie. Do you think Yonghwa would understand?”

“If he loves you that much, then he will. He’d be so selfish he’d ask you to just let this opportunity go. You’re retiring from all of this for him, right? Is it too much to ask for an extension? A few more months won’t hurt, dear”

Her unnie is right, Yonghwa would understand. He might be happy for her too, if he’d hear the news.

Seohyun was staring at her phone for a while now. She wanted to call Yonghwa, but is scared to do just that.

“Yonghwa would understand me” she repeatedly told herself “Yonghwa loves me, so he would understand”

He dialed his number and crossed her fingers as she waited for him to pick up the phone. She literally jumped when she heard him say “hello” from the other line

She took a deep breath before saying “H-Hello?”

“Oh, baby. I’m here ate my nephew’s school since hyungsoonim and hyung’s still at work so I volunteered to pick him up” he said “I met his friends” he continued “They’re so sweet. They’re talking like they’re grown-ups and not pre-schoolers. Oh, I can’t wait to have our own kids, I can’t wait to bring them to school, to accompany them in soccer games, science fairs… such stuff”

He is in a good mood, she felt bad ruining it.

It’s now or never, Seohyun-ah

“Hey, what’s wrong? Why are you so quiet? Is there a problem with your Visa?”

“N-no. It’s good”

“Your plane tickets?”
