the one where ilwoo's a good friend.
a piece of dara.College isn’t supposed to be like this. She’s supposed to go to frat parties and get drunk off her , go to bed with people she won’t remember the name later, get her grades in order and still find the time for an internship. But it’s her second year and she’s in a freshman’s room, crying and using all his tissues, mascara running down her face as he frowns and tells him this Leeteuk guy is an arse. Dara manages to find it in her to smile a little, Ilwoo’s way of talking always waking her from her daydreams of murdering Leeteuk. or something.
Ilwoo raises his eyebrows, confused about her smile, but grateful all the same. Then he sits on the floor in front of her, half-smiles a little, and offers, as a half-joke and half-not, “You deserve more than this, more than him. I bet the second he sees you with someone else he’ll come crawling back.”
They met in an event the zetas were organizing to get people from the region to adopt senior cats and dogs left by their former owners. (Ilwoo, obviously, not Leeteuk. Evil awful people like Leeteuk wouldn’t be in such places) it’d been Ilwoo’s first week, too, so when she offered to show him around, he wasn’t reluctant to say yes. Something about him made her trust him immediately, and she doesn’t think it was how he adopted three dogs to give as a surprise gift for his sister. She thinks it was his smile.
Then six months later she’s in his room, thinking about what he’s just said, and she honest-to-god thinks it doesn’t sound too bad when she raises her eyebrows, sniffs, and says, “You know what? You’re right. You’re absolutely right.”
