Chapter 7

Distinctive Identities

Chapter Seven

"Why the are you here, standing there like some ghost?" Na Ri spat, both legs placed on the table with her school uniform jacket on the chair while she leaned back. Jongin unfolded his arms as he stopped leaning on the door, his hands in his pockets as always. He ignored the fact that he was obviously uninvited, stepping in the classroom. It was silent in the whole school since almost half of the students left.

"Am I not invited?" he asked back arrogantly, cocking his head to one side. Na Ri rolled her eyes when she remembered that he thought she was interested in him. She wasn't happy with the self-esteem he was currently having but it would also be a bother for her to explain. She groaned and dropped her legs to the ground, standing up.

"Think whatever you want, I'm not in the mood for those ." Na Ri scowled. She didn't even look at him and started to toss her belongings into her bag, packing up. Jongin eyed her with a baffled look, his eyes following her every move.

"You're staying here because you have detention, aren't you?" he asked, appalled and confused with why she was already preparing to leave. When he stepped in the classroom, she wasn't even cleaning and was just listening to music with her earpiece in her ears and legs on the table.

"That's none of your business. If you're here to laugh at me or something, just screw off." Na Ri muttered, not wanting to deal with those things. She threw her last belonging in and zipped her bag, looking up and meeting his curious eyes with a cold stare.

"Who said I was here for that? I have better things to do." Jongin stuck his tongue out to moisten his lips, looking awkward that she saw him that way. One of his hands reached to hold his bag strap as he walked closer to her. Her cold stare doesn't falter or leave him as she just looked at him.

"I'm here to confirm the deal we had previously. How am I supposed to believe that you only have one copy of that photograph? Even after I apologised to you in front of the school, how are you going to prove to me that my deal is kept?" he said suspiciously. Na Ri got annoyed hearing that he didn't trust her but figured out it was normal for him to act that way. But she wasn't going to do anything about his insecurity.

That was his problem.

"Whether you believe me or not, that's your choice. Why are you bothering me about your problem?" Na Ri snapped while she just kept her stare on him. Jongin scoffed incredulously hearing her words but he had always knew from the start that she wasn't going to be easy.

"Fine, I'll believe you. But if your promise is not kept  "

"Damn, you're talking too much. Move out of my way." Na Ri interjected and slung her bag over her shoulder, pushing him one side before making her way for the door. She was going to leave the classrom since her detention time was up but he had to come and bother her over unnecessary things. Having detention was irksome enough but he had the talent of making her feel worse.

"What about your detention? Aren't you going to clean?" Jongin asked, jaws dropping as he watched her. She was interesting to him as well because it was the first time he saw someone who looked as if she had no fears at all. Na Ri spun around to give him an annoyed look. She frowned.

"You can clean for me if you want to. I'm not stopping you." she told him before leaving the classroom. She left him speechless in the empty classroom alone as Jongin stood there, feeling hopeless at that moment. He shook his head with a light scoff but a chuckle escaped his lips. "She's unbelievable," he breathed out.

"It's been forever since you're here with us!" Cho Rim swung her arm over Na Ri's shoulder as they sat on the long couch in the club with some other friends. Na Ri smiled widely back as her hands reached to cup Cho Rim's cheeks and she pinched them. "It's been long since I saw you," One of Cho Rim's friend, which Na Ri supposed her name is Yura, raised her glass to her.

Na Ri gladly accepted and raised her glass as well, lightly clinking onto Yura's glass, drinking her wine afterwards. Cho Rim was already slightly drunk and had been blabbering on about how long they haven't been to a club together. Na Ri knew as well because she was busy with her detentions.

"Let's drink for the whole night today!" Cho Rim shouted while her hands raised to the air as she swayed them from side to side, making Na Ri guffawed. "We have school tomorrow," Na Ri whispered to Cho Rim, laughing as she watched her being silly.

"It's okay. There's Na Ri here anyways! Our Na Ri is not afraid of anything!" Cho Rim clamoured indiscreetly, her arms thrown over to Na Ri's shoulder, pulling her closer. Na Ri showed the other friends a sheepish smile as she apologised for Cho Rim's actions. They just laughed it off as they didn't mind about it.

"I think we should leave first. She's very drunk." Na Ri stood up, supporting Cho Rim by holding her hand over her shoulder. Yura and some others stood up to leave with them as well since they had already spent like four hours in the club anyways. They were actually playing some drinking game at the start and Cho Rim had lost big time, drinking down numerous cups of alcohol.

Even Na Ri was surprised.

"Let's leave together, we're getting bored as well." Another friend, called Min Young smiled at Na Ri. Na Ri returned her with a nod as she felt grateful for them. Even though she wasn't close to any of them, she thought they weren't that bad. Personality-wise.

After leaving the club and being able to get fresh air, Yura was holding onto Cho Rim who kept darting to one corner to vomit. Na Ri was breathing in and out heavily from having brought Cho Rim out of the club with much difficulties. She could smell herself reeked of alcohol beause Cho Rim was leaning onto her just now, making her soothed out her dress as she grimaced.

She wasn't watching her way and ended up colliding with someone else. She looked up naturally after her head accidentaly crashed onto someone tall. But the dark eyes that locked gazes with her was so familiar yet, different. She held her breath when she caught his gaze. She felt goosebumps forming on her arms when she was met with that icy cold gaze. She was stunned for a second she stayed motionless.

"Watch your way," he snapped rudely with a hint of annoyance in his eyes, brushing his shoulder with a displeased look. He shot her a galling look and was about to walk away when Na Ri managed to hold onto his arm, making him come to a halt. His dark eyes diverted to her hand that was on his arm before it travelled back to her eyes.

"Excuse me?" Na Ri scoffed. She tried to read his gaze but it was as if there was a wall behind those eyes, she couldn't understand him. He indeed looked different from how he looked like at school. His hair was dishevelled with his fringe casually combed down. It wasn't as straight as before and his clothes...

He was wearing a skinny tight black jeans with a leather jacket.

"Jongin? It's you, isn't it?" Na Ri couldn't help but ask when she felt confused. She thought her mind was playing tricks on her because his face looked exactly the same but his eyes...They were different. He looked as if he couldn't recognize her and as if he saw her for the first time, making her utterly bemused.

It was just as if the first day she looked for him at his classroom. She swear she caught a twitch near his eyes when she asked him. She felt him stiffened under her touch when she mentioned his name.

"Who are you?" he asked back, his frigid gaze not leaving her as he stared at her intensely. He tilted his head to observe her better but he was looking as if it was his first time seeing her. Words got stuck in as his eyes went back down, realizing her hand was still on his arm. He furrowed his thick eyebrows before harshly pulling his arm out of her grasp.

"You don't know me?" Na Ri asked in disbelief, her eyes widening as she felt her fists clenching and releasing.

"Am I supposed to?" he just retorted back, narrowing his eyes on her. He focused on her and even squinted his eyes but just shrugged it off after a few seconds.

"Aren't you Jongin?" Na Ri quickly interrupted him, feeling uncomfortable with how he was acting. It was impossible for Jongin to not remember her.

"You've mistaken,"

He simply said those two words and was about to walk past Na Ri again when Na Ri grabbed onto his arm again. She was never going to let him go so easily after making her so befogged over his identity.

But this time, Kai acted faster.

When she managed to hold onto his arm, he swiftly turned around, flipped and grabbed her shoulders. Before she could comprehend what happened, he had already pushed her to the wall of the alley.

Na Ri was respiring heavily with hasty breaths as her eyes were round from what happened. His hands were holding onto her shoulders so tightly it was hurting. She bit her lips as she glared at him. Kai was just staring back at her with his dark brown orbs, breathing out heavily as well. They were both looking at each other in silence as Na Ri's ears caught her friend's voices a few meters away.

"Where did Na Ri go?"

She wanted to tell them but she was disturbed when his grip on her tightened even more, making her wince slightly from the pain. She loured at him as his face was only a few centimeters away from hers. She could even feel his breath fanning on her lips and it made her even more astounded with why he was acting this way.

"You know..." he started. His scent invaded her nose and he smelled of alcohol and cologne.

"I don't really speak to strangers especially girls like you unless it's regarding about something that interest me," he growled, eyes twinkling from the moonlight. She just listened to him as her mind was partially in a blank state, not even able to comprehend why on earth he was acting so differently.

"So think twice before you speak," he whispered, causing a shiver to run down Na Ri's spine.

"If it doesn't interest me, you'll face consequences for even wasting my time..." his voice trailed off. Na Ri swallowed but tried to put up a confident expression even though her heart was throbbing against her ribcage. He was way too close.

It wasn't normal for her to be feeling this way but it was Jongin, someone from her school.

She flinched when she felt his cold hands coming in contact with her cheek. He was staring intently at her, waiting for her to speak. She her lips wet to keep her calm.

"Are you not going to speak? Baby girl..." he let out another soft yet y growl, his eyes looking as if he couldn't wait to devour her.

"You really don't know me? We've met a couple times," she asked back. She was trying to test whether it was really not Jongin because she was still suspicious even though their personalities are completely different. They just looked too similar. Kai finally looked away from her eyes for a second after hearing her question, thinking for a second before it flashed back to her eyes.

"You don't look like one who would leave a big impact for me to actually remember," he said truthfully but Na Ri knew exactly what he meant. It's not Jongin. She managed to meet his gaze again and they looked dangerous. They were completely different from Jongin's ones that were slightly warmer.

"Oh...are you one of them?" His voice rang at her ears again, snapping her to reaity. The reality that she was trapped by a stranger at a dark alley. Kai was smirking at her as his dark brown locks fell slightly to his eyes.

"What do you mean?" she asked back.

"Just a moment," he told her. With that, he inched closer just to collide his lips on hers. He had already closed his eyes as he tilted his head and deepened the kiss. Na Ri was more than astounded with what he was actually doing but even without her reacting, his kiss was thrilling.

"I have no interest in dating" Jongin's words rang at the back of her head while she stood frozen with eyes opened. She winced again when she felt him biting her bottom lip.

She pushed him away with all her might, making him pull away as he looked at her with a frown. His eyes had a glint of lust and his thick luscious lips in front of her was not helping. She just stared at him with bulging wide eyes, mouth left slightly open.

"You are one of them, aren't you? I remember this lips," Kai chuckled a charming chuckle, biting his lips. He took another step back as his hands enter his pockets while he looked up to see the expression on Na Ri's face. It couldn't help but make him grinned.

"You could have told me before, so what do you want?" he asked.

Na Ri was way too confused with what happened and his words weren't making sense to her. What one of them? What on 's sake is he blabbering on about? Even though there were thousands of questions swimming in her mind, she could only manage to say one word.

"What?" she croaked out.

"You want to continue where we left off?" Kai asked, his eyes turning dark again. Without hearing her reply, he had already narrowed down the distance between them as he was an inch away from her. He was about to close the distance again when her hand stopped him with her palm pressed on his chest. He looked down, amused with where her hand was touching. Na Ri respired out, her hand running through her hair in front of him.

"Hold on..." she heaved a sigh feeling a headache coming with all those things that happened in a blink of an eye. Kai, on the other hand was watching her hungrily because he was pretty sure he couldn't hold for long. Furthermore, he managed to smell her shampoo which turned him on. "What's your name?"

"Kai. The name's Kai," he smirked

[A/N]: This is one long update but this chapter is dedicated for Kai rather than Jongin. If you're wondering what Kai was talking about, he was referring Na Ri to one of those women he always hooked up with. He also remember her because of their incident at Chapter 1. But alright, now Na Ri thinks that Kai and Jongin are two completely different people. She has also find out about Kai in this chapter.
