                                   "Promise is a big word. It either makes something or it breaks everything."

        YEAR 2008.

        After that "Singing Battle"at the karaoke they always go to, Baekhyun decided to bring Hwayoung up to a hill somewhere in Bucheon, their hometown. It may be a special night for Hwayoung since Baekhyun worked hard to prepare a simple yet wholehearted meal for the both of them.

        "Baekhyun Are we there yet? I’m like so exhausted!” Hwayoung whined which was rather obvious for the older since she placed a slur on “so”.

        “And I thought you were an intense soccer player. Boo you! We’re almost there.” He tantalized playfully which made her pout.

        She tried catching up to him by sprinting as fast as she could. It almost felt like she was back in training after a few months. Well, she managed to get to him, at the top of the hill though. Her tracks stopped as she saw Baekhyun preparing a mouthwatering eat al fresco (picnic) for them two. Wondering why a picnic was prepared at night rather then in the afternoon, she decided to disturb him in his preparations with that question. He explained that he wanted her to see the sky full of stars and the full moon which they both infrequently get to see because of their after school activities and school activities. It made her heart warm up and he gave him a hug, which he deserved.

        “You cooked all of these? It’s very delicious. I say you can pass to be a wonderful husband!” She grinned after munching some of the pasta and Baekhyun’s cheeks reddened after hearing that he could be a great husband in the future.

        “T-thanks.” He stammered, as he was too shy to talk once more. He tried to get his grip together and started speaking naturally, “Well, I kind of asked for some help from my mom but I’m glad you liked it.” He flashed his eye smile and continued eating.

        After they were finished eating, Baekhyun decided to be the one to pack up without any of Hwayoung’s help to prove that he can really be an independent man or to actually prove that he can be a perfect man for her. They both lay down on the grass and Baekhyun was right, there are millions of stars up in the sky bed. They searched for constellations such as “The Big Dipper”, “Taurus, The Bull”, Baekhyun’s zodiac sign, and “Sagittarius, The Archer”, Hwayoung’s zodiac sign. Hwayoung pointed at a constellation, which she found really beautiful and Baekhyun said to himself, “Just like you”. He snapped out of his trance and explained which constellation that is.

        “That’s the Cassiopeia, you know DBSK’s fandom? Anyways, Cassiopeia was named after the queen of Aethiopia. She was the wife of Cepheus, King of Aethiopia and the mother of Princess Andromeda. Both the king and the queen were placed next to each other among the stars along with their daughter. She was placed in the sky as a punishment for her boast that he daughter was more beautiful than the sea nymphs.” And he explained even further the mythology. Hwayoung was fascinated by how he explained the mythology of it. Both of them are only sixteen years old and she never knew how Baekhyun knew these since they didn’t study this yet.

        “That’s astonishing.” That’s all she could say. More words wanted to come out of but she just didn’t know how to say it to him. “I’m sorry, I want to say more but, I’m just amazed that I can’t even put it in a sentence anymore.” Baekhyun gave her a hug and he said that she didn’t have to apologize.

        “Hey, Baekhyun?” he broke the hug and looked at her. “Promise not to leave me? Let’s audition together, okay?” She stuck her pinky out and Baekhyun did the same thing. They made a pinky swear and locked with their thumbs. 

        “That’s a promise. And if I ever break the promise, slap me.” She hugged him and she said that she wouldn’t hit him because his face would be ruined and she would never ever do that to her best friend.

        “Hey, Hwayoung?” She broke the hug, “Whenever you feel down and I’m not here to comfort you, come up to this hill and look at the stars. Remember that constellation that you found beautiful? Remember that spot, look at it and that’s you. And to the right, that’s the constellation that I found the most beautiful after yours. That would be me. See, they both resemble us. Together.” He was sincere enough to say that. Did something happen to him? It made Hwayoung wonder but what he said made her tears roll down her cheeks.

        “Hey, come on now. Don’t cry. We won’t leave each other remember? But our schedules are really crazy right now that we can’t even see each other as much as before eve
