“Isn’t it nice to feel so at ease after a long major examination week?” As Seohyun skipped happily, leaving her cousin behind who was laughing at her childish acts. They were walking in the park after Lay fetched Seohyun in her school. He has been escorting her from school to their apartment since he has nothing else to do besides helping her clean the apartment. 

“I guess so, but there’s still the National Examinations coming up next year and we will be taking it. So, you aren’t exactly free.” 

“Sh sh sh! Don’t ruin my moment!” Seohyun gritted her teeth and glared at him. But soon, she resumed to her childish acts and pretended that Lay didn’t say anything. 

“Haha, hey kiddo, do you want me to treat you to a nice restaurant for dinner later to celebrate the end of your examinations?” Lay suggested and immediately, Seohyun nodded her head like a child receiving the latest toy. “Oh you,” Lay ruffled her hair but received a glare from the latter as a reply. “Alright alright, I won’t touch your hair.” 

Knock knock

“Hurry! I’m going to start your car now so get ready in 5 minutes okay? I already booked us a table at 7pm.” Lay was knocking on Seohyun’s door, telling her to speed up as it was already 6:45pm. He was wearing a simple white shirt covered by a black blazer with a black pants and leather shoes. 

“Alright alright.” Seohyun was nearly ready but she was distracted by a book and decided to read it after wearing her dress. She wore a white flowing dress and white flats. She dabbed a bit of powder on her face, not caring about putting on makeup as she believes that looking natural is good enough. She quickly grabbed her purse as Lay has been continuously honking the car. “Sheesh! That wasn’t even 5 minutes.” Seohyun said as she sat on her seat and put on the seatbelt. 

“Well, it seemed like 5 minutes to me.” Lay stated as he carefully drive the car. 

“Never forget to put on your seatbelt dude.” She reminded her cousin. He grunted but obeyed to her words. “So, where are we going?” Seohyun asked excitedly like a little girl. 

“You’ll know when we get there little girl.” 

Seohyun pouted. “I’m not a little girl!” 

“Wah, this restaurant fits for the kings and queens!” Seohyun has been complimenting about the restaurant since 3 minutes ago when they arrived. The restaurant’s ceiling and walls were filled with exquisite cement art designs. The tables and chairs were made from a well-crafted woodman’s work. Above all, the restaurant was very grand and luxurious. 

However, Seohyun’s non-stop flattering remarks were put to an end when Lay hit her head. “Hey, that hurts! What was that for?!?” Seohyun blurted out, attracting people’s eyes to see the small commotion. 

“Lower your voice down, people are watching.” Lay said as he bowed apologetically to the people before turning back to her. “Stop complimenting the restaurant, it is kind of annoying..” Fading the last three words from his mouth.

“Annoying? Why would it be annoying? I was just praising your restaurant!” 

“You mean my dad’s restaurant..” Trying to look busy with the menu he’s holding. 

“Aigoo, why d’you feel so embarrassed? Be proud that you’re inheriting this elegant restaurant!” Showing her thumbs up to Lay who gave her a weak smile. 

“Well, I guess it is good but I want to start something new or something that I would love to do..” Lay sighed. Seohyun softened as she understood what he meant. She, too, would rather do what she wanted than following her parents’ footsteps.  

Seohyun’s parents owned a business company which is known worldwide and they would want her to become the successor. Since young, Seohyun has been visiting the company after her school hours and follow her parents overseas when needed to. Fortunately, her examinations had started so her parents excused her from any business matters until the end of the year to give her time to rest. She was really thankful for that. The tests were already pulling her hair off, what else could those business matters can do to her!

“I know what you mean Lay ah..” 

Sensing that his cousin was feeling gloomy, he decided to cheer her up. “Aish, that ruined your perfect celebratory atmosphere! Let’s brighten up our night, yes?” Lay clapped his hands and asked the chef to bring their food on their table. Their meal was served sophisticatedly and the staff treated them friendly, as well as with high excellence.

“Well I’ll be, the food’s amazing! Delizioso!” As Seohyun made an okay sign to the chef who was smiling gratefully at her. Lay just couldn’t help but chuckled at her. 

“Thanks for the dinner cuz. The food was deee-lish!” Seohyun showed an okay sign and winked at Lay who was opening the apratment door for her. 

“No thanks to me. I didn't cook it, I only paid the bills!” 

Seohyun laughed at him. “I’ll treat you someday, but now we need to shower and rest hmm?” At that moment, Lay yawned. “I shall take that as a yes.” 

After taking turns to use the bathroom, Lay had already dozed off to his dreamland while Seohyun was still reading a book since she couldn’t sleep.

"How I wish I could hear the song again.." Seohyun sighed. As if on cue, she heard a familiar melody being played. Swiftly, she pulled her bean bag in the balcony for her to lie on. She wondered why someone would play the piano at midnight but at the same time, she was glad that she could hear the song again. And with that, she smiled to herself and drifted off to her own slumber. 

While the stars and the moon continued to shine, a young lad was playing his piano since he couldn’t sleep. While playing, he was thinking about a song that was played on a piano as well. Although it was incomplete, the melody was graceful and beautiful. He couldn’t help but to think that the person playing the piano was a girl, who’s as beautiful as the melody. When he ended, someone opened the door. 

“Luhan, I know you love your piano as much as you want to marry it but you should go back to your room and sleep. If not, you’ll get dark circles around your eyes.” 

“I’m sorry to wake you up Baekhyun ah, I’m going to sleep soon so don’t worry about my eyes.” Luhan chuckled at his friend who looked really cute in his Chip an’ Dale pyjamas. 

Baekhyun rubbed his eyes like a little boy and asked, “Are you thinking about that person again?” 

Luhan chuckled again and sighed, “Yes Baek ah, I can’t seem to get that person out of my mind.” 

“Just wish that it’s a pretty girl, if not, you’ll come home crashing down when you realised it’s a boy instead.” Bakehyun warned his friend who just laughed at him. “Hey! I’m warning you not to be so serious about that random person.”

“Alright, now go to sleep Baek.” And with that, Baekhyun left and went to his own room while Luhan stayed behind and thought about that person. “I really do hope that you are a girl and I wish I could meet you someday.” He gently brushed his fingers on the keys of the piano, “As I want you to hear this song that I composed just for you.”
