Baekhyun stared at the pictures in front of him with a confused mind. He didn't know where in the world anyone else could receive photos like that, especially when he lived his life really low-key most of the time. He couldn't even sense anyone following him the past few days but there had to be, especially since there were so many photos from just a few days. A part of him wondered if it was karma for trying to mess with Taeyeon and Yuri but another part of him wanted to ruin them before he got caught. 

“Baekhyun-ah, what are you looking at?”

At the sound of his mother’s voice, Baekhyun tried to gather all the photos together but he couldn’t do it in time, considering that she was already behind him.

“What are those?”

Mrs Byun furrowed her eyebrows when she saw a rather familiar figure in a couple of the photos on the table. She sat opposite her son and hurriedly flippwed through the pile of photos on the table, her expression getting more unreadable by the minute. She could, no doubt, recognise the young fair-skinned woman who was starting to resemble someone she knew. The only person she found oddly familiar was the slightly older person in the picture though.

“Who is this woman?” Mrs Byun asked, ignoring the look of confusion on her son’s face, “and why do you have photos of her?”

Baekhyun stayed silent, not being able to answer her question. He didn’t want to let his mother know that he was planning to blackmail his teacher and classmate into forcing an apology out of her. He had an ego to protect, especially since he came from a pampered family, and he got the best of both worlds every single time. Perhaps it was due to his humiliation and beating he received from a female, it was pricking his manly ego.

“Byun Baekhyun, you better answer your mother’s question.”

“I… I want them to suffer…”

The look of shock crossed Mrs Byun’s face as she stared at her son, waiting for more answers. She didn’t want to face up to the fact that Baekhyun might be involved in something considered a criminal offence. There were a lot of things she shouldn’t have done to protect Baekhyun all these years but he was her only son, hence the over-protection over him. However if he was involved this time, she was not going to protect him any longer.

She owed them that much. 

Flashback.

Lee Hyesung was a common freshman who had fallen in love with one of the school’s most popular jocks and she had prepared a Valentine’s Day surprise for him. She was going to confess to him today and make sure that he got an idea of how strongly she felt for him. She was even asking her best friend of almost three years, Hyejin for help because Hyejin was extraordinarily close to that particular jock. 

“Hey, did you hear about Hyejin and Hoyoung?”

“What happened?”

Hyesung furrowed her eyebrows in slight wonder; why were there people talking about her best friend and her crush? She couldn’t think of any reason for them to be the source of any rumours. Due to her undying curiosity, however, she decided to remain behind the pillar so she could hear what in the world was going on. They were so close... was there a possibilty that Hyejin was still hiding something from her? 

“Hyejin rejected him this morning.”

What?

So Hoyoung had fancied her best friend all along? It was impossible for Hyejin not to know, especially since she was one of the sharpest people around. Hyejin even told her to go for it and confess if that was what she wanted; there had to be a reason for that as well. She clamped her hand upon in case she wouldn't be able to hide her shock after hearing the revelation from these two girls who didn't have any reasons why they would lie when no one was watching.

Now that she thought about it... 

There were rumours of Hoyoung and Hyejin dating but they always ignored it. 

“Apparently, Hyejin doesn’t want to date him because Hyesung fancies him too… I’m not sure, I heard it from one of the seniors down the hallway earlier.”

Hyesung didn't need to hear anything more; she was going to find her best friend and listen to her side of the story before jumping to conclusions. Hyejin had never once lied to her about anything in the world before so there was no reason why this time would be any different. She knew what class her best friend was having at the moment and she immediately rushed to the gym, hoping to catch Hyejin before she left for Biology at the other end of school. 

If Hyejin was really hiding her feelings from her simply because they liked the same guy… then what would Hyesung become?

“Hyesung-ah!” Hyejin was shocked but she ran towards her best friend and threw her body into Hyesung’s arms, “what are you doing here?”
