Prologue:

It’s a beautiful day for a twenty-one year-old Kim Sunggyu who returned home from university. He rushed inside the Kim’s Residence as he dropped his things at the front door, not caring about anything. He ran upstairs and reached his parents’ room. He opened the door without knocking and saw his mom, sitting on the bed. His mother looked up and smiled as she recognized who it was.

 

“My Gyu-aegi, welcome home~” Mrs. Kim welcomed him cheerfully.

 

“Umma, I’m not a baby! I’m already twenty-one for goodness’ sake!” Sunggyu whined at his mother.

 

“Oh come on, Sunggyu. As if you really hate it. I know you, young man.” This sentence made Sunggyu shut his mouth because his mother really knows everything about him. Including the “I-hate-being-called-a-baby-but-secretly-not” Well what can you do? Mother knows best, as they say.

 

Mrs. Kim giggled softly before asking why he was in the room.

 

Sunggyu snapped himself from whining as he remembered what was his purpose in barging inside his parents’ room.

 

“Ah! Umma, can you tell Appa not overworked Jonghyunnie so much? I mean whenever Jonghyunnie is overworking himself, we couldn’t even go to a single date! Not only that, I can’t even see him for one day!” Sunggyu hugged his mother, whining like a child.

 

“Aigoo~ But your appa wanted to know if Jonghyun-ssi can do well in work for you and for your future. You know how your appa is.”

 

Kim Jonghyun, is a twenty-three  year-old university student who was now in-training to become the next CEO of Kim Corporation. He was also Sunggyu’s fiance.

 

The two met during high school and they kind of hooked together and was known as the best couple in the whole campus. Their relationship was very bumpy at first, because there’s always an argument here and comments from other people there but their relationship was very strong that they were able to maintain it and overcame the obstacles until now.

 

How they became engaged? Jonghyun proposed to Sunggyu during their date at Namsan Tower. Since the proposal, they both announced it to their parents. Jonghyun’s parents were okay with it as they were quite fond of Sunggyu. Sunggyu’s parents on the other hand, seems to be hesitant about their relationship. Well, Sunggyu’s mom seems to be okay with it but his father seems to think otherwise. Sure they know about Sunggyu’s preference but there’s more to it that I can’t mention yet.

 

So Sunggyu’s father made a proposal to the young couple and that is…

 

“For six months, I want you two to separate from each other. Jonghyun-ssi will have his training under my company and for you Sunggyu to continue your studies. I will let you two talk to each other on phone or video chat or whatever, as long as I won’t see you two in one place. If I ever see you two together, I won’t ever accept your relationship.”

 

It’s been three months since the couple saw each other that of course, Sunggyu would whine about.

 

And of course, everything became awkward between Mr. Kim and Sunggyu who used to have a very good relationship. Mrs. Kim can’t blame her husband after his husband explained his actions that time to her.

 

Mrs. Kim looked from the corner of her eyes, she saw Sunggyu pouted like a child. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for her adorable son.

 

‘If only you knew, Sunggyu-yah. You will understand your appa’s actions.’ Mrs. Kim thought to herself.

 

“Umma?”

 

Mrs. Kim snapped out of her thoughts and looked at Sunggyu, who was tilting his head at the side.

 

Mrs. Kim could only smile at her son and ruffled his soft and fluffy brown-colored hair before saying, “Everything will be fine, Sunggyu. Even if things can’t happen like you always wanted, everything has its reason and there are things that hasn’t happen yet will make it better for you. Just trust your father on this one, arasso?”

 

Sunggyu was quite confused at his mother’s words but he nodded his head, telling her that he would trust his father this time.

Sunggyu now understood what his mother and father meant that time as he looked at the scene in front of him...

 

A week before, Sunggyu asked his father while eating their dinner at the dining area, if he could visit to their family’s company. Mr. Kim took a glance at his son and he saw him looking at him with puppy-dog eyes that he didn’t know exist in his son’s small eyes but could tell the hidden meaning of those words.

 

Mr. Kim sighed at his son’s desperate plea and couldn’t help but let him go.

 

Sunggyu jumped out from his seat and hugged his father as best as he could as Mrs. Kim giggled at the sight. The youngest Kim, Myungsoo was clueless at what’s happening so he asked the mother. Mrs. Kim just smiled and told him that his brother was just happy.

 

After the dinner, Mr. Kim called Sunggyu to his study room. The two Kims talked about things, including Jonghyun. Once Jonghyun was mentioned, Mr. Kim’s expression turned stoic and Sunggyu frowned at it.

 

When the younger Kim asked, the elder Kim only said this…

 

“Things might be difficult for you but always know that all the things I did, separating you two for half a year was to prove that your relationship is stronger enough to get married. I always support your choice in life, my dear son, always. But you are very blind at some things that you can’t even notice. I hope you realize that before it’s too late. Hope you understand my actions and know that me and your mother always love you, even if you hate one or both of us in the end. Everything that we did is all for you and Myungsoo. Remember that, Sunggyu…”

 

A week later (present), he skipped happily towards the Kim Corporation, not noticing that some of the employees greeted him and some stiffened at the young Kim’s sudden appearance.

 

Sunggyu went to one of the workers in the company and asked for his fiance’s office and the worker stiffened before telling him the direction. Sunggyu smiled happily and happily thanked the worker as he walked away.

 

Sunggyu actually thought of visiting his father for a bit but he remembered that his father was having a meeting with his best friend along with his mother, so Sunggyu shrugged the thought off and decided to head towards Jonghyun’s office.

 

Once Sunggyu reached his destination, he decided to know on the first. As he raised his hand towards the door, it stopped mid-air as he heard something. He thought that it must be his imagination but then, he heard it again and this time, it’s louder and it belongs to a woman.

 

He decided to open the door, unannounced. Luckily, it wasn’t lock so he opened the door and bam!

 

And here we are. His eyes were semi-wide but still wide as he looked at the scene in front of him.

 

The scene in front of Sunggyu was as you all suspected. His boyfriend slash fiance of five years was having with one of workers in Kim Corporation and not only that, the worker was rumored to be one of the ty workers in the company.

 

Something snapped inside Sunggyu and decided to spoke calmly, “So this is what you are doing for the past three months, huh.”

 

Sunggyu’s voice rang throughout the office and the two occupants inside the office looked up and two pairs of eyes widened, getting caught red-handed.

 

Jonghyun, who looked an idiot right now pushed the woman down on the sofa as he stood up, fixing himself and ran towards Sunggyu.

 

“Gyu! This isn’t what it looks like. Let me explain, Gyu. Just let me explain first, huh?” Jonghyun pleaded.

 

“Why would I let you?! I already see and hear enough.What could be more? That you had with half of female workers, is that it?! Tell me!” Sunggyu screamed, gaining attention from the other workers inside the company.

 

Jonghyun held Sunggyu’s shoulders tightly as he replied, “That’s not it, Gyu! You know I would never do that.”

 

“Then what is it?!”

 

“It’s...it’s your father…”

 

“What?”

 

“This is your father’s scheme, Sunggyu! For the past three months, he’s the one who orders me to do those things! He doesn’t want me to be with you. You know that I love you so much and he’s doesn’t agree with our relationship. Gyu, you have to believe me?!”

 

Hearing Jonghyun’s explanation made Sunggyu boiled in anger and did the unthinkable in front of everyone who are watching the scene.

 

THUD!

 

Jonghyun fell down, holding his swollen face and looked up at Sunggyu with widened eyes.

 

Sunggyu was looking down at Jonghyun with an expression that can made you pee in your pants. In short, he’s really mad.

 

“Cheating on me is one thing but trying to frame up my father is really unacceptable. Do you think I will believe you that it was my father’s fault?! Did you think that I don’t know who you are in the past?! I freaking know you as a damn playboy but I still fell for you and thought that you would change for good! But guess what?! Old habits die hard, huh?”

 

At this point, Sunggyu was shaking up as tears started to fall down. People around them started to whisper among themselves about Jonghyun.

 

Jonghyun stood up and tried to touch Sunggyu but his hand was slapped away by Sunggyu, who was glaring at him full of hate and rage as tears continued to fall down

 

“I should have listened to Dongwoo as he warned me about you. Why would you date me anyway? I’m not as good looking as those whom you ed until now.”

 

Sunggyu took a deep breath before wiping the tears from his now swollen eyes and asked one of the workers to call his father’s secretary.

 

Coincidentally, his father’s secretary was one of the audience and came up behind Sunggyu.

 

“Ms. Hwang, tell the things that I am going to say to President Kim and I want you to write it down as fast as you can. Understood?”

 

“Yes, sir.”

 

Sunggyu looked at Jonghyun with an emotionless expression as he began, “First, please inform that from this day onwards, Kim Jonghyun-ssi, who is still in his internship will be kicked out of the company and he will be ban from coming here. Secondly, list all the names of those who he ed up with and fired them from the company. And lastly…”

 

Sunggyu raised his left hand up in the air and you would noticed that there was a ring on his ring finger. Sunggyu raised his other hand and took off the ring from his ring finger and dropped it on the floor in front of Jonghyun.

 

“I’m breaking off our engagement and our relationship. We’re through.”

 

After dropping the last sentence, Sunggyu walked away from the scene with the secretary.

Later that day, Sunggyu immediately rushed inside their house once he returned from the company and he rushed upstairs to his bedroom, ignoring his little brother and the maids from downstairs. Once he entered his room, he closed the door and locked it.

 

He looked around his room, thinking of something before something popped out in his mind. He quickly walked towards his wardrobe and opened it and grabbed all of his clothes out of his wardrobe. Same goes to his drawer.

 

He crouched down on the floor and took his luggage and two bags; a shoulder bag and a backpack from under his bed and placed all of his clothes inside the luggage. He closed the luggage and went on to the other bags to put other things in it, including his owned gadgets such as laptop, tablet, headphone, and other things such as his necessities. Once he’s all set, he went to his drawer again and took out something, his emergency credit cards and his earned money given to him by his parents.

 

As he got busy packing up, he didn’t notice that he’s tearing up again and this time, in sadness and guilt. He realized that what he was doing right now would disappoint his parents but he had to do it for some reason.

 

Once he finished packing up that took a few hours, he looked at the clock and it says “6:00PM”. He decided that he would leave the house when all of people in the house were asleep.

 

He walked around his room for the last time when he noticed his notebook and a ballpen on top of it on his study desk. That was when something popped out in his mind again and sat down on a chair and ripped two pages from his notebook and wrote something down.

Sunggyu was thankful and more easier for him that day as his parents were still out and his little brother always sleeps early.

 

He ate his dinner as fast as he could, getting an eyebrow raised from his brother but he ignored it.

 

After dinner, he rushed back upstairs as fast as he could to do some things.

It’s already eight-thirty in the evening and Sunggyu was walking quietly along the dark hallways up to the stairs and down he goes with his luggages.

 

Once he reached reached down the stairs, he immediately rushed to the front door, dragging his luggages. As he reached for the front door, he froze suddenly when he heard someone behind him

 

Sunggyu slowly turned his head and saw his fifteen year-old brother, Myungsoo looking at him with a frown on his handsome face.

 

“Myungsoo…?”

 

“Hyung, answer me. Where are you going?”

 

“Myungsoo, I…”

 

“I don’t want any excuses such as “going on a trip with Dongwoo-hyung” because it’s a lie and it’s proper if you answer my question first, hyung.” Myungsoo stated with his now icy voice.

 

“...I’m running away.”

 

Myungsoo’s eyes widened and rushed towards Sunggyu and put both his hands on his brother’s shoulders.

 

“Why, hyung? Why are you running away?! Is it because you’re going to elope with your boyfriend? Is that it, hyung? Is it because our parents didn’t approve of your relationship? Is that why you are leaving? Is that it, hyung….” Myungsoo shook his brother as his voice cracked.

 

Sunggyu felt bad for his brother as he saw his shoulders. Sunggyu knows that his brother was crying, despite having emotionless expression 24/7.

 

Sunggyu moved the hands from his shoulder and hugged Myungsoo tightly as tears up, once again.

 

“I’m sorry for making you misunderstood my intentions of leaving, Myung… but I can’t let you know the reason why I am leaving in the first place. Though, I am sure you will find out soon. Just remember that I love you all. Umma, Appa and you, Myung-ie… always…”

 

“Please be safe and promise you will come back. Promise me, hyung…” Myungsoo murmured against Sunggyu’s chest.

 

“I promise. Now I need to leave quickly.” Sunggyu pulled away from the hug and quickly opened the front door and went out, along with his things. Myungsoo nodded his head and went after him outside.

 

Myungsoo silently watched his brother ran towards the front gate with the luggages until he saw him called for taxi.

 

Myungsoo suddenly shut the front door closed when he saw Sunggyu got inside the taxi and his knees gave in and fell on the floor, sobbing and praying for Sunggyu.

But what he didn’t know was that it was going to be the last time he would see his brother again.

I just thought that I should let you know why the summary is like that, if you get what I mean. Although, I didn't revealed the exact details.
