My name is...

I can't seem to remember my name.

No, I... I can't remember anything at all.

Shortly after I arrived, someone approached me and immediately informed me that I am now in heaven. Did it shock me? Yes, of course! I was so confused that I tried several times to pinch myself but it did not hurt. And that scared me because it only means one thing... I was not dreaming nor hallucinating. I am dead. I have died without me realizing it.  And no matter how much I try to remember how I ended up here and who I was when I was still living, I cannot recall a thing. My mind was wiped clean of every trace of who I was, like I was a brand new soul. 

In this place, everyone calls me 'Mark'. All of us here have no memory of the names we were used to be called. And so, we were given pseudo names that I guess we'll be using for eternity. Why Mark? I have no idea... really. Oh and even our faces, I soon discovered, were all made to look the same. I have lost my identity... we all did. Not that I need it here in heaven or anything. I have no memory of my life on earth though how I came to know that I lived there before I came here, I could not really explain. It still baffles me up to this day. I just... feel it I guess. 

All of us here are collectively referred to as 'The Army'. Guardian angels... that's what we now are. E
