Chapter Eight

A/N: Hey guys! I'm back! I'm sorry for the long hiatus. Wow I can't believe it's almost been seven months since I've written a chapter on here. Hopefully I will get back into updating frequently for you guys now that summer is here. Thank you so much for all of your patience and support. :) So to recap, in the previous chapter, Minseok leaves Lu Han a note before flying off to find his wife and leaving his best friend with the oh so sour Minseo. 

Minseo's eyes followed Ha Ni as she paced back and forth in the living room. The woman was almost stomping angrily, with her hands on her hips and an unpleasant scowl etched on her face. Minseo couldn't help but notice the unfeminine way Ha Ni was walking, almost as if she was a soldier marching off to fight the North Koreans. 

"What the hell, this is not good. This is not good. This not good," Ha Ni repeatedly mumbled under her breath. "Why won't this idiot pick up his phone?!" She slapped the phone in her hand several times in anger before pressing buttons once again. 

Minseo raised her eyebrow. "What's wrong, Sis-in-Law? Why are your in a wad?" 

Ha Ni turned to face her, as if noticing the girl's presence for the first time since she had sped out of Minseok's room tearing a piece of paper into shreds. Her face turned a scary shade of purple. 

"You!" she exclaimed, pointing a finger at Minseo's forehead. "What am I going to do about you?!" 

Minseo wrenched Ha Ni's hand out of her vision. "Wow, excuse me. Rude! What kind of drugs are you on right now, woman? Is that baby making you loopy?" 

"No!" Ha Ni gnashed her teeth together and glared at Minseo for a few seconds more before resuming her pacing again. 

Minseo didn't know whether to find this situation absolutely hilarious or just downright stupid. Minseok had left her a note when the two girls came back from the ice cream shop, telling her about his urgent leave for some "business" affairs he couldn't miss and that he would be calling. That was just extremely fishy, and to top it off, his own wife had had no clue of such idea etiher, which was why she was frantically leaving stomp marks on the carpet floor. Did her brother have a sidechick that she didn't know about? Or was he a criminal on the run? Nah, probably neither. Minseok was too shy and wimpy to get girls (how in the world did he land a model for a wife was the question) and much too docile and law abiding to be any type of criminal. In fact, if it ever came down to a crime, Minseok would turn himself in to the station before the police could even leave. 

"Calm yourself down, now would you?" Minseo rolled her eyes. "You're making a big deal out of this. He'll probably come back tomorrow."

Ha Ni stopped in her tracks and spun around to face her. "No, you don't understand. This is a bad thing and you would find it best not to argue with me about it. And young lady, you need to stop talking to me informally."

Minseo merely rolled her eyes again and laid her back down on the couch. "Fine, whatever. I'll just go to sleep. You can throw your own rage fest if you want. Wake me up if you have alcohol." She heard a faint scoff behind her, probably of indignance, before she tuned Ha Ni out and closed her eyes. The last thing she wanted to think about right now was the pregnant woman she was going to have to endure for the next several months. 

When Minseo woke up from her late afternoon nap, she found the apartment eerily quiet. Rubbing her eyes, she lifted herself from the couch and softly treaded the entire expanse of the living space before coming to the conclusion that Ha Ni had probably left to find her husband. Her assumptions were confirmed when she found a note stuck to Ha Ni and Minseok's bedroom door scrawled in messy handwriting, "I'll be back later tonight. Don't leave." 

Minseo smirked. Yeah right, as if. 

She grabbed the doorknob and entered the couple's room once more, looking around for something she could use. She had seen Minseok use a laptop in the kitchen early this morning before her mother had started her whole spiel, so no doubt it was still here...unless he had taken it with him but she doubted it. 

As she looked around the room, she couldn't help but notice the vacancy of it. There were no pictures hung up, no frames, and no makeup or hair products laid out like she expected from the movies and dramas that she had seen. From the looks of Ha Ni, Minseo had expected a little more upon entering the room, but she was disappointed. 

"Aha! Here it is," Minseo said when she saw the bulky black laptop in one of Minseok's desk cabinets. Flipping it open, she turned it on and quickly searched up the nearest place to where she wanted to go and wrote it down on a post-it note. Then she slammed the laptop closed and left the room.
