chapter six

It was about half ten in the morning and I was starting to get hungry but I just ignored it. I wanted to find some kind of shade before 12 o’ clock rolled around but Kris wasn’t having any of that.

He just stopped in the middle of the dirt road and sat on the ground holding his stomach, “Lilly I’m hungry, can’t we just stop for a second and eat?”

He just stared at me, “Fine,” I sighed and sat on the ground, “let’s eat something.”

We had granola bars again. Honestly why the hell I didn’t steal better things from my parents’ kitchen?

“Hey, Lilly.”

“Hmm?”

“Couldn’t you take anything better than this? I mean, I’m kind of getting tired of all-”

I shot him a glare so deadly that he just shut up, “I would like to see you focus on picking up a variety of food when you’re angry.”

“Jeez, I’m sorry.” He put up his hands in defense.

“Good.”

We ate in silence for another 5 minutes before heading out again.
