Her Night
Protect MeEun Mi walked. By this time, the sidewalks were filled by air. The air that only Eun Mi was able to breathe, the only air that she was able to sense. She’d walk past a few couples once in a while, but she was glad that there weren’t a lot of people out, the amount of groceries she was carrying took up two more spaces fit for people.
Pacing herself, she simply thought, “Okay, so I have to edit my essay, finish my math homework, read my textbook…” Her groceries were heavy and the amount of weight that was bouncing against her started to take into effect. She looked at her thighs, “Ouch…”
She looked up again and started walking straight, “Himchan…huh?”
Himchan had such a special place in her heart, and he never knew it. Not only was he her first real friend, they cared for each other so much. She was so lonely, especially since she’s been on her own. Before she met him, all she ever knew was to do things alone. Eun Mi always ate alone, came home to an empty home, and she’s never looked forward to talking to a person. She just didn’t know why these thoughts continued to linger in her mind, all of those memories they’ve made, the good and the bad.
As she continued contemplating these thoughts, she began to enhance her listening. Something weird was occurring. Whenever she walked, it wasn’t just the loud thrashing of her bags and her walking.
