BASICS

» Mages and creatures similar to them can use their powers with the help of spells. Some of them are long and complicated - like exorcism in Latin - and some of them are short and simple, but carry a great message if combined with magic.

» One-word spells are very popular in the magic world, since they're fairly easy to use and remember. It's possible to create a new spell by using the right word.

» All languages can be used for such spells.

A LIST OF THE MOST POPULAR ONE-WORD SPELLS

» Musca; Romanian word for 'fly', works similar to telekinesis

» A fháil dó; Irish for 'get it', helps with pin-pointing someone's or something's location

» Ligo; as in 'bind', used for trapping someone

» Khófeshmeaning 'freedom', frees a magical being that's under someone's control

» Jayu; summons a small amount of lightning (electricity)

» Acorde; meaning 'wake up', is meant to activate some bigger spells or magic circles

» Skjule; useful when you don't want unecessary attention from people and want to hide yourself from their eyes

» Bestiam ascendentem; summons creatures made of light that you can shape into any animal form you wish

» Relligo; temporarily binds someone's magic, if they're weak enough

» Libertatem; used when a magical being is under a spell, sets them free

» Finis; used on objects causes them to stop working (often used on guns)

» Revertimini; combined with the right symbol or a magic circle, is used for sending a being back to where it came from

» Apertum; opens locks and door

» Crescere, solum, oppugnatio; all of them combined allows a mage to control underground tree roots.

Most one-word spells are accompanied by simple hand gestures, and most of them require eye contact.

A fháil dó,” you whisper, and the ash seems to shiver. It moves towards a certain spot on the city map and stops, forming a thin, black circle around an area on the outskirts of the town.
