“So, what did you think of Nara?” Kris asked. Suri smiled nervously ‘Is he really asking me this?’

Suri pressed her lips into a thin line “She’s…nice” Kris chuckled, “Right? I mean, I know she can be y sometimes, but she’s totally nice.”

‘What is wrong with this guy? Is he blind? I can totally see why his mom dislikes her.’ Suri thought, almost rolling her eyes.

“Uh-huh…” Suri nodding her head slowly. Kris took a seat on his chair “So Suri, tell me about you.”

Suri chuckled inwardly “Um…”  Kris chuckled again “Tell me something I don’t know.”

There’s a lot of things he doesn’t know about her, especially the dark past of hers, and she wasn’t about to tell him to let him pity her.

“Nothing.” Lightly shaking her head “Whatever you found, it was just that.”

Kris narrowed his eyes at Suri, trying to get something out of her, but she avoided his gaze and someone had just made an abrupt entrance into his office.

“Lia! How many times should I tell you to-” Kris fumed halfway through and stopped until he saw his mother walking towards him. Lia who was behind her were panting.

“I’m your mother YiFan; I don’t need to make an appointment to see my own son.” Mrs. Wu huffed, telling Lia to leave them be.

Kris swiftly stood beside Suri, placing his hand on her lower back. Suri arched her back, feeling uncomfortable; she positioned Kris’s hand right at the middle of her back.

“Well, you should’ve called me first if you were coming over,” Kris spoke with his straight-faced on, but Suri could detect the annoyance in his tone.

His mother ignores the whiny Kris and focused on Suri “Suri is it?”

Suri slowly looks up to meet Kris’s
