"Sehun! Getup!" Kai shouted and pulled the bedsheets, revealing a sleeping prince.
"Leaf... muh... alone," I mumbled.
"Getup! You've overslept. The ripe time to go hunting is passing by as you laze about!" he climbed onto the bed and jumped up and down.
The forest was sizzling with tension today, perhaps it was because a couple of the solders were tagging along.
Suddenly, a cold tingle rattled up my spine.
I wasn't aware of the man in the trees a few feet away, by the time I heard the click, it was too late.
I glanced back, just in time to see a deer jump in front of me, taking the shot.
The soldiers immediately took action and shot at the men. Kai nudged his horse away from the battlefield and pulled me away as well. "We have to go," he said urgently. "Hurry, Sehun!"
Another shot rang out and hit the deer. It collapsed and transformed into a boy.
I didn't even register the miraculous transformation but instantly recognized him. "Luhan! LUHAN!"
I jumped off my horse and ran towards him. A string tugged at my heart harshly.
There he was lying motionless on the ground, his brown hair cluttered with dirt. His eyes were closed and his angelic face was contorted with pain. I lifted him and ran towards our secret spot.
One of the bullets shot his chest and the other hit his shoulder, ruby red blood was seeping through the wounds, slowly forming a pool of crimson.
"Luhan! Open your eyes! Don’t sleep!" I whispered as I gently held him.
Luhan winced and his eyes fluttered open. “I’m sorry I lied,” he tried to say but no words came out, he didn’t realize that his voice was now just a mere whisper.
I smoothed out his hair, ignoring war raging on around us. "It’s going to be okay,"
He tried to smile, but could only manage a weak one.
