Forty – Broken Vow

D.O already left when Kai, Baekhyun and Chanyeol arrived. They only saw his back getting smaller and smaller as he walked away. Kyungsoo watched his brother—he said he should smile, but Kyungsoo couldn’t. Not anymore. Not when he saw how Jongin and D.O were broken—

It’s all because of him.

A hand suddenly wrapped his, and he didn’t need to look at him to know who he was. It was Kai. But he didn’t even give him a glance. He couldn’t. Kyungsoo tried to take his hands away, but Kai only held it tighter.

Kai watched Kyungsoo on their way back to the parking lot. Jongin was calmed down by Mrs Do and eventually stopped crying. Mrs Do told them to spend the night in the house. She whispered to Kai that she was worried of Kyungsoo as well.

He noticed the elder spacing out in the car. He chose to take the car with Mrs Do and Kyungsoo while Chanyeol drove the other one with Jongin and Baekhyun. Kyungsoo was looking out the window, hands still trapped in his hands. Even though the elder male wasn’t fighting it anymore, he’s not talking. It worries him too much.

Mrs Do nodded at him in the rear mirror—like a signal to just continue comforting the other.

“Kyungsoo…please talk to me.”

What would you want to talk about? Are you here to throw all the blame on my face? You don’t need to, I know it’s my fault.

“You need to tell me what’s on your mind. This is not healthy. Let’s just start over and forget what happened okay? Kyungsoo?”

How can you forgive me so easily? I still haven’t forgiven myself. I don’t think I could ever forgive myself.

Kai failed on making the elder talk. Mrs Do let him and Jongin stay in a guest room .Evening came and Jongin didn’t even touch his food. Kyungsoo didn’t go out of his room. The air was filled with tension and even Kai couldn’t even swallow the food on his mouth.

In his room, Kyungsoo sat on the mattress and kept looking at his and D.O’s picture in a frame. It was only taken last New Year. D.O had a horn toy on his mouth he kept blowing to make a noise while he was eating cotton candy and winked at the camera.

They were happy. Kyungsoo was happy. But was D.O happy as well?

After a long trip from Seoul to Los Angeles, they finally arrived. Luhan kept insisting on driving the twin back to his house but D.O said he has someone to pick him up.

The model sighed and nodded. “Call me when you get back home. Okay?” D.O chuckled because Luhan sounded like a mother. He nodded anyways and hugged him.

“Lu?” he called and the other hummed. “I love you Lu…” he said out of the blue. Luhan giggled because it just came out all of a sudden. “I love you too.”

“Take care always okay? Don’t tire yourself too much. And you Sehun—don’t you hurt my best friend or I’ll kick your .” He said.

The model smiled even though he didn’t like what D.O was saying. Because it just sounded wrong—like he was saying things before he say goodbye.
