“Stop trying too hard,” Ryeowook tried to sound stern, but it came out as a whisper.

Kibum coughed, opted to not reply to Ryeowook’s words, and instead he just stared up at Ryeowook’s concerned expression right above where his head was lying—on Ryeowook’s lap. With careful movement, Ryeowook put the newly-changed cool damp towel on Kibum’s forehead. He pushed the small basin further on the side table so it would be safe from falling over, and then he tucked the blanket around Kibum’s body snugly.

“Rest now, I’ll wake you up when it’s time for dinner, okay?” Ryeowook said again, gently lifting Kibum’s head from his lap and replacing the head support with one of the sofa pillows so he could go prepare dinner.

“Thank you,” Kibum finally said, his voice hoarse. “For taking care of me,”
