White Dragon's Story
Yul watched Sooyeon come into Hyoyeon's shop. She looked at him a little surprised at his being there so early – even before her. Hyoyeon was always there, though, she lived above the shop. Sooyeon stood in the doorway staring at him for a moment, still feeling like there was something about him that was familiar. She had not seen him, though, for nearly over a year... and this was only the third time she had seen him in the shop since she started working.
The elf was smiling at her apprentice. "Don't just stand there in the doorway, Sooyeon. Our customer might want a new outfit." She patted the chair next to her that Sooyeon usually sat in. "Put your book down then be a dear and go check to see how much white silk we have left."
The artist hugged her drawing pad to her chest as she walked past the nobleman and then behind the counter. She set down her parchment book then stood there by her chair, her eyes settling on Yul. After a moment, she turned and went into the back to check the material. But after she went through the archway she heard them start talking so she strained her ears a bit to see what the two of them were talking about. They had stopped talking when she had come in the shop, too, so she had a strong feeling it was about her.
"It's like I said earlier, it's up to her parents in the end. You should know that." Hyoyeon did not seem to be worried about keeping her voice very low. "But you should also know that she is..."
"I know she's still too young to be courted, you silly elf." There was humor in his voice. He was trying to be quiet but Sooyeon could hear him all the same. She paused at the white silk while she listened to him. "I just wanted to know if you think her parents would accept my desire to court her when she is old enough. I want to know if I'm going to have a chance."
The elf laughed heartily. "I seriously doubt they would have a problem with it. You are nobility, after all. What greater thing could her parents want for her than to even be courted by someone of standing?" She then sighed. "But if anyone found out... if she found out..."
"Hyoyeon," There was a bit of tension in his voice and it was followed by her very pregnant pause. "I'm sure everything will work itself out. I just need to know..."
When no more conversation came, Sooyeon finally checked the bolts of white silk then wandered back up front and the two there both looked at her and smiled. She settled down into her chair, thinking about what she had heard. She was staring down at her pack of parchment.
"Well," Hyoyeon said after her apprentice did not say anything for a while.
"Oh!" The young woman looked up, but her eyes fell on Yul and she blushed some. She quickly turned to her employer. "There looks to be enough to make three
