White Dragon's Story
That night, when Sooyeon finally got to bed, she felt cold and alone. Taeyeon had apparently meant what he had said about her not seeing him again, for he was not there. He was always there when she was ready for bed. She was so used to him being there... Her eyes started to water again. Why had she said those things? Why had her doubts and fears about her life come out the one time her dragon had come to see her up on his mountain? Why? Now she was likely to never see him again but at the Offering... but she was not likely to see his smile again at her.
The young woman sat on the edge of her bed and called out to him with her mind. She apologized to him. She begged him to forgive her. She was sure that he could, somehow, hear her. She prayed he would listen. But he did not appear. He was ignoring her. She truly had hurt him a lot with her words. She felt like he was never going to forgive her. She curled up under her sheets, still calling his name softly while she cried herself to sleep. Her only hope was that she could, perhaps, find some comfort in her dreams. What she found deep within her sleep, though, did not help her any. In fact, her dreams only made everything much worse...
Three dark forms came over the northern mountains. Dragons... blue dragons. They were just as feared as the red ones... as the black ones. They could spit a horrible acid that, in certain instances, could ignite fires but usually just sort of melted everything it touched. They had destroyed nearly half a dozen towns already. They had killed nearly everyone. The guardian dragon of one of those towns was killed and two others were horribly wounded. The other two dragons were said to have literally just vanished during the fight and no one knew why or how.
It was also not sure how just three blue dragons had caused so much damage or why.
Upon seeing them approach, townspeople began to run down the streets. They wanted to escape, but some did not succeed. The dragons were too fast and easily overtook anyone that did not run quickly enough. Most of those unable to escape were hit by their acid, being dissolved painfully into masses of flesh and bone, their blood seeming to boil when the toxic substance hit them.
The sight and smell made Sooyeon's stomach churn. She wanted to run from where she was hidden, but the screams of those around her made her too scared to move. Her heart was racing. She begged Taeyeon to come to the aid of the town. Where was he? Should he not have come as soon as they topped the mountains and entered the valley?
An ear-splitting roar right above and the sudden rain of roof tiles and wood made her take off at a sprint. She had been found. The dragon that had found her roared again and took off after her. Tears started spilling from her eyes. Taeyeon was not there to save her. She was worried that he was not going to come, either. She could cry out to him
