Chapter 1

“Ex...Excuse me?”

“I said, get off of my bed. Did all the sleeping affect your brain?”

I scoffed in disbelieve. Is he for real?

“Are you facing difficulties to understand such a simple sentence?”

WHAT. Did I die and went to hell? Is this Satan?

The white curtain secluding the small section we were in was drawn open. A young nurse walked in and stumbled back in surprise, “Omona! You’re awake!”

The strange, tall man averted his attention to the nurse with a frustrated grunt. “Hey, nurse, I’ve been waiting for an explanation on things around here.”

The nurse rushed to my side, ignoring him who awkwardly stepped aside to make way. She checked on me as she jotted down some notes on a clipboard.

“I demand an explanation. Why is this girl in my bed?”

She smiled and gave my hand a gentle squeeze, “The doctor will come to check on you soon.”

I responded meekly with a weak smile.

The guy looked flabbergasted. He scoffed in disbelieve as the nurse continued to ignore him even when he waved a hand in front of her. She was acting as if she didn’t see him. She was acting as if he wasn’t even there. As if he didn’t exist.  

I guess even the nurse had had enough of this jerk.

“Do you think I’m incapable of suing this hospital?”

She gave me another assuring smile before rushing out. She totally ignored him.

I gave him a mock sympathetic smile. “I guess being a jerk doesn’t really have its pros, huh?”
