Cor meum tibi is Latin for 'My heart is for you'

“Are you actually trying to blackmail me?” Kris asked while his face was a portrait of astonishment. “Of course, you could just tell me whats’ up with this robot and nothing bad will happen” Hye answered with a small cold smile.

“I’m on your side, can’t you just trust me and take care of Kai?” Kris reasoned, he rather not give away the fact that Kai has a beating heart like everything that’s alive. “If you’re really on my side like you’re saying you are, then you would tell me everything about this robot” Hye figured, that now that they’re finally having this conversation she should try and see if their friendship really ended over nothing. Kris took a moment to let her words sink in, he realized that what she said was true, and only by giving her information about Kai would she probably start trusting him once again.

“Alright, I give in. I’ll answer your questions, but this is not the right place and time for that. I’ll come to your house tonight and we’ll talk then, deal?” he reasoned with her. Hye glanced at Kai who was staring at them from the sideline and then returned her eyes to Kris. “Deal” she answered.

She already waited more than a week for answers, she supposed waiting a little more wouldn’t hurt and besides that, he was right about the fact that this isn’t the right place for the talk they were going to have. At least at home there wouldn’t be a thousandth eyes staring at them. The dance ended and Kai walked up to them with big eyes, “that was amazing! I never saw something like this before” he said excitedly. Kris smiled at Kai’s cuteness, Kai can do so much and yet he gets excited about seeing people dance.

“I’m sure Hye wouldn’t mind showing you a few steps later at home, so the next time you can dance with her” Kris winked at Kai. Kai’s smile grew even wider and Hye was annoyed by the fact that Kai had such an handsome smile. Now she wouldn’t be able to say no to this.

Finally Kris and Hye sat down around her round table again. But this time Kai was not in the room. They figured it would be better for him to not hear what they were about to be saying. Even though neither Kris or Hye were really sure what they were really going to be talking about. Hye sipped from her glass of water in order to calm her mind. What should she be questioning Kris about first? The fact that Kai actually showed emotions and rarely shows behavior robots normally should have or about why he gave Kai to her or what makes Kai so different or why did he never tell her in these three years that he was still on her side?

Kris coughed making it clear that he was waiting for the first question, but Hye was still in her own world trying to put all her questions in a row. Hye had so many questions now that she can finally get some answered she isn’t sure what the most important question is anymore.
“Kai… I created him myself, he doesn’t have a chip like others do, I also trained him myself..” Kris started up a conversation since he noticed Hye was having trouble in doing so. “You trained him?” Hye let out a little laugh “He walked into my room as I was changing and half ! And he actually asked if he could see me again like that! What did you train him to do?!” Hye said raising her voice a little bit with her question.

Kris’s eyes widened and then he started laughing, “I guess he’s a real man” were the words he got out through his laughing. “Very funny” Hye commented with a straight face. “Well, I’m not sure about why he would do that..” Kris finally said after he got his laugh under control. “But I trained him in sports and gave him skills, I did only give him a little bit of basic human knowledge, which could be the result of him having been like that” Kris explained.


“You.. don’t know why Kai acts the way he does?” Hye eyed Kris suspiciously “Don’t tell me he’s actually not a robot and just a human acting like a robot!” Hye started to get mad thinking Kai might really be just a damn good actor. “No no no, he is definitely not an actor. But it is true that I can never really say why Kai does what he does. The thing that makes Kai so different is that… he has his own will. He hasn’t been programmed like all the other robots have.” Kris explained, he wasn’t willing to tell her Kai has a heart just yet. “What do you mean? How is it possible for him to have an own will just by being programmed differently?” Hye wondered, she never heard of or even thought of that being possible. “It’s hard to explain Hye.. It took me like four years to complete Kai” he tried to get out of the ‘how’ conversation. “So you should have the perfect speech ready then, what did you do so differently when you created Kai?” Hye asked, not backing down from the ‘how’ conversation at all. Kris knows that she’s not stupid so why was he acting like she is, she would understand what he was going to say, so why wouldn’t he just tell her.

“Fine, you never back down do you?” Kris chuckled. He realized there was no way he was going to get out of this situation without telling her the fact that Kai actually has a beating human heart inside him. After he thought it true a bit he also figured that this way Hye would be fully trusting him once again and that Kai would most likely really be in good hands. “Remember when you told me that you thought robots were scary because they did not have a beating heart like we do?” Kris started. Immediately Hye’s eyes widened, was he trying to tell her Kai actually has a beating human heart inside him? Even though he is supposed to be a robot? “Yes, he has one” Kris answered the questions she was asking in her mind.

Hye opened her eyes and felt an headache rise at the same time as she did. When Kris claimed to have created Kai, a robot with a human heart Hye’s mind went crazy with questions and the first thing she did was stand up and run towards the door. She opened the door and wanted to run to the door that was right across hers, but as soon as she was about to walk through the door she ran into Kai. He embraced her with his arms in order to keep her from falling backwards. In his embrace she felt it, she heard it. Thump.. thump.. thump..thump thump thump. His heartbeat.

“It’s true?!” she screamed as she tried to get out of his embrace. Kai was in shock by Hye’s reaction and let her go when he noticed she wanted to get away from him. Kris wasn’t sure how he should handle this situation, he didn’t think Hye would go crazy the way she just did. “Calm down and lower your voice..” was the answer he came up with in the end.
“Calm down?” Hye looked at him as if he was the one who went mad, “where did you even get that heart?!”. “Hye, calm down and I’ll explain. Just.. sit down please” Kris tried to get her to her senses. She sat down on her bed at a safe distance from Kris. “Explain” she insisted. “We created a new technology which can recreate cells and body parts of humans, as an experiment I wanted to try and mix this technology with mine, and create a real ‘living’ robot.. and that is what Kai is the result of..” Kris explained slowly to Hye. His words made sense but still didn’t click in her mind. “Impossible..” was all she could get out of while she stared at Kai in shock. Kai not understanding this discussion at all was searching Kris’s face for answers. “Kai, you have a beating heart like we do.. unlike the other robots, this is what makes you so special” Kris explained so that Kai would follow the conversation.

Kai put his hand on his chest and felt the thumping of his heart. “That’s what this sound is?” he asked Kris. “Yes, and it’s also the reason that you do whatever you want without orders and with that also the reason that you sleep. Your heart needs the energy that it gets when you go to dreamland  in order to keep thumping like it does.” Kris explained the weird un-robot like traits that Kai has to both Hye and Kai.

“So, why did you create him and placed him here, why didn’t you keep him to yourself?” Hye questioned. “Because I told you.. I’m on your side.. I always remembered that you were scared of my creations and the reason for it. I wished that I could make something that you would like as well.. and now that I finally succeeded I wanted it to be safe in your hands at your own home” Kris explained his childhood friend. “So we really ended our friendship over nothing?” she asked him with tears in her eyes. Kris was shocked when he saw her face and ran up to her to give Hye a hug. “Yes, I’m sorry I never told you before, but I figured I had to succeed in creating Kai before I could tell you how stupid you are to never give me a chance to explain.” Kris calmed her down with his hug. Hye never cries, never. He has never seen her with teary eyes before and somehow it felt like she shot him. He never realized he meant that much to her that she would show her tears to him.

Kai was still in the door opening trying to put all the puzzle pieces he just got together. From this scene he understood that, Kris and Hye have had a big misunderstanding which had caused them to become enemies and Kris created him in order to make it up to Hye.

Which made Kai realize that he was created for Hye and Hye only.

Now I know it took me way too long to upload this. But my laptop crashed like half a year ago and I lost everything I had written in advance and was just like "fck this".

Somehow I got back to this website today and read the first 4 chapters again and realised I actually really like this storyline and should continue it. Sooo, ehm well thanks for reading if you did :3 Aaaand I'm not gonna promise fast upload cuz I know I won't xD But I do wanna try to actually write the whole story this time.
