“Now that’s you’ve seen every part of the house that would ever be useful to you, you can do whatever you like, I’m going to go shopping” Hye stated as she walked up the stairs leaving a panicked Kai behind. This morning, when he was brought in by Kris, Hye’s father had told him to guard Hye and just do the manly chores around the house like fixing anything that broke down. But wherever he was, he was told to never be further away than a twenty meter radius from Hye. “Wait, I have to come with you” Kai finally managed to say even though he was in a panic state.

Before he went to this household he was told by Kris to always obey Seung Tae (Hye’s father), since robots where supposed to do chores and listen to their owners. Kai knew how normal robots are supposed to act thanks to Kris and all the robots he had seen in the government building. So Kai kind of understood why Kris had called him special. All robots needed tasks in order to move around and do things, whereas Kai had a mind of his own, he read a book when he felt like it, asked questions if he was curious and didn’t necessarily listen to every word that his creator said. Kris had told him that when he’s to be around others he should always act as if what he’s doing is a task. Even though Kai thought it was a little stupid he still understood why he had to. If he acted on his own the whole time just like any other human would even though they think of him as a robot they would think he’s defect and take him to the government and neither Kris nor Kai wanted that to happen.

“No you don’t” Hye said irritated, she didn’t want him to follow her while she goes shopping, even though her dad had told her to always take him with her. “Yes I do, it’s one of my tasks” he answered her with a somewhat confident smirk. Hye hadn’t expected this answer, she thought since he’s a robot he would just listen to her, maybe he’s programmed to only listen to her father? But Kris wouldn’t do that, since he ‘gave’ Kai to her and not to her father, right?
“Who gave you that task then?” she asked while raising a brow. “Seung Tae, he said he would inform you on this as well, did he not do so yet?” Kai answered as politely as possible. This girl was kind of getting on his nerves but he had no choice but to act as if her words did nothing to him. After all, right now she was the only one he was comfortable with to talk to. But on the other hand she hasn’t said one nice word to him yet since he had first seen her. “Of course he did, but I thought Kris gave you to me, so shouldn’t you obey my orders instead of my father’s?” Hye said as she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Kai let those words sink in and he thought she had a rather good point there. But he wasn’t interested in making a discussion out of this, it was already set “I’m guarding you, whether you like it or not” he stated as he also started walking up the stairs.

Hye was taken aback by his words and looked him in his eyes as he stood one step below her, he was still 1 head taller than she is though. They had an intense stare battle and it made Hye wonder how this robot was capable of having such life in his eyes. It scared her a bit if she was to be honest. She finally narrowed her eyes as she let out a sigh before saying “You’re weird”. Kai didn’t break their eye contact over that comment though, “Well that makes two of us then” he said as he stuck out his tongue at her. Hye gave up fighting back, she figured that since he’s obeying her father’s words this robot won’t let her win. “Fine, whatever you want, I won’t stop you from following me” she said as she walked up to her room to look for different clothes to wear and ready herself for her shopping day. She didn’t know that Kai had followed her into her room though, and he watched as she was taking of her clothes. Kai felt something weird inside him as he scanned Hye’s figure, she was only in lingerie, Kai didn’t know how to describe this feeling he had but it made him feel warm and it felt good. Hye turned around to get the clothes she wanted to wear from her closet, it was then that she saw that Kai had followed her into her room. She was shocked at first and grabbed a cloth that was lying beside her while she said “What the hell are you doing?!” “You said I could follow you” he answered his eyes not shifting away from her exposed body parts yet.

“Oh my god, are you crazy? I can’t believe you!” Hye raised her voice and anger showed on her face as she glared at the robot. Wait… robot, she let that word sink in again. He’s a robot. It shouldn’t matter because he doesn’t feel anything it’s the same as undressing in front of your tv, she thought. But on the other hand, he looked so much like a human it just wouldn’t be naturel or feel good to undress in front of him. So she kept her angry face up, after all this robot had to understand a bit of privacy.

“What is wrong, why are you mad?” Kai asked confused as he still didn’t understand anything about what was happening. Kris had thought him about basic human knowledge but Kai figured he might have missed something. “You! I! I mean.. Jeez, it’s not normal if you watch someone undress..” halfway her sentence she lost her anger, since he looked genuinely confused and she felt like she was being angry at a kid who only did what he was told to do. “I shouldn’t see you like this?” Kai asked with a frown, it felt good to see her like that, so he didn’t like it that she said that it’s not normal. Did it mean he wouldn’t have this nice feeling again, since she won’t allow him to see her like that again, he pouted at that thought.

Hye let out a sigh, he looked like a puppy which made it all even worse, now she felt guilty for getting mad at him even though she had a perfectly fine reason to be mad. “No one gets to see these parts of me, so you’re not supposed to see them either. It’s.. humans only show this to each other when they’re close, okay? Do you understand?” she tried to explain, but figured she failed a bit at it. She still hoped that he understood now that it was not okay that he had seen her in lingerie only. “But I’m not a real human so isn’t it okay for me to see?” Kai asked in the hope he would be able to see the sight again which made him feel so.. special. “You look like a human, so no. It’s disturbing for me” she crushed his hopes and saw his puppy eyes coming out.

What the hell is up with this robot? Is he some kind of ert or something. Sentences along those lines crossed Hye’s mind, and she figured she DEFINITELY has to ask Kris a lot about this robot the next time they meet.





“Hye, you look stunning as always!” “Your speech just now was perfect Hye!” “Your dress is amazing!” “I wish I had such curves” and a lot more of these compliments were thrown at Hye as she walked around the ball room. She was asked to hold a speech for this social event, a lot of rulers from different countries were present and her father told her it would be a great opportunity for her to show the other rulers how perfect she was. Hye already knew her father just wanted to brag about her all night long, but it wasn’t like she could say no to her own father. So she did her speech, and when Hye does something, she does it perfect. Or well, everyone always says she does it perfect.
Kai trailed behind her and he had been pretty devoted to being her guard the past week.

But that didn’t change anything in Hye’s attitude, she wouldn’t change her way of treating him until she has answers from Kris about this robot. She doesn’t trust it at all, this week Hye did her research about robots on her laptop. She found out that normally robots make a sort of weird sound when they are told an order by their owner, so she tried it out on Kai.203.2983099493 and she’s pretty sure “I’ll make sure it’ll happen” is not a weird sound. There were also things such as emotions, normal robots don’t smile let alone smirk, while it was something Kai did daily. She was almost scared that he was actually a real human and that they were tricking her all along. But then again Kai seemed so innocent and doesn’t have a lot of knowledge about what normal humans do, though that could of course be an act. Hye thought it was impossible for a human to act like this though, it was too good, even actors can’t act on this level.

“Hello there beautiful” Hye heard someone beside her, she recognized this voice and how much she wanted to grab this guy, throw him against the ground and force him to answer her questions. She turned to him and did her best to suppress her glare “Good evening Kris”.  “Can I have this dance from you?” he asked while waiting for her to place her hand in his. She wanted nothing more than to embarrass him by declining him, but she knew that if she did it would cause an uproar so she basically didn’t have a choice. She took his hand “Oh, it would be my pleasure” she answered sarcastically. “Hey Kris” Kai suddenly stood next to me and Kris gave him a nod “Nice to see you here Kai.203.649.01” he greeted Kai with a smirk. Kai stood on the sideline as Kris and Hye went to the middle of the ball room to join the dancing. Hye figured this could actually be her chance to ask him all of her questions. She hadn’t seen Kris all week and she thought it wasn’t right, Hye was sure that since his special robot was with her he would visit non-stop. Which he actually did, but Hye just did not notice anything from it. Since Kris would always visit Kai in his room when Hye would already be in a deep sleep.

“You look rather frustrated” Kris whispered in Hye’s ear as he pulled her closer to him with his arm around her waist. “You should know that I’m in need of answers about something” she whisper back as she put one hand on his neck and the other on his arm. They started dancing while whispering their secret conversation in each other’s ears. Something which they had always done, even when they were still on good terms. They always had to dance at parties from their parents but hated it so back then they just made fun of people who were wearing weird dresses etc. while they were dancing.  “You’d better tell me what’s up with this robot you send to my home” she whispered venomously. She demanded answers from him, and if he won’t tell her she has an extra card up her sleeve. She just hoped she won’t have to use it, since it was a rather y card.

“He’s special, that’s all” Kris smirked at the obviously not so amused girl in his arms. “He’s weird, not special. And you will tell me why he is weird” Hye stated while giving the guy a quick glare. “Wow, calm down girl. You can just ignore his existence and you won’t be troubled by his special-ness” he answered as he raised a brow. “You try ignoring someone who’s stalking you 24/7” she spat at him a little bit louder than she had wanted to. “You didn’t have trouble with ignoring your body guards either right?” “I didn’t have to, because they would listen to me when I tell them to go away” she shot back at him. Kris was a bit taken aback by Hye’s integration it was not something he had planned. He had also never expected Kai to be glued to Hye 24/7, and that Kai did not listen to Hye even though he had told Kai to obey orders was also new information to him. Even though it to hear this from Hye, Kris was very happy about the new information. It meant that Kai really has his own will. He did wonder why his perfect robot would be glued to his childhood friend 24/7 though. If he had his own will then he should be doing a lot of different things right? Kris decided to make sure to check the camera’s he set up in Hye’s house more regularly in order to keep better track of Kai’s character and changes.

“Well, obviously a reason why he’s special, no one wants to be stuck with you 24/7” Kris chuckled mockingly at the girl. He had hoped that this way she would back down and stop her questions, but boy what was he wrong. “Kris, this is no joking matter. I know he’s not like the basic robots you’ve created before” Hye said, she figured it was probably time to become a for now. If he wouldn’t give her the information she wanted to hear by himself, well.. then she would just make him tell her. Like said before, Kris is a genius but that doesn’t mean Hye isn’t.

“Well, congratulations with your observation then” he answered dryly, not aware that she was about to use a threat. “You really think you can keep it a secret?” Hye asked as she gave him an arrogant look. Kris knew what this look meant, he had seen it before a couple of times, and it never made him happy.
