“You didn’t introduce yourself yet..” Kai said as he stared at Hye. Of course, he already knew her name is Hye, Kris had told him. Still, he thought it was common sense that when someone introduces himself you’re supposed to do the same. Hye eyed him up and down with an annoyed face.
What is this robot thinking? Why would she have to introduce herself to a robot? She was sure he already knew her name, and she wondered where he got the courage from to say something like that. She heard that all the robots ever do is ask whether they need to fulfill a task for you. What he said right now, is not something she expected from a robot.

Hye sighed, after she thought that she felt guilty, she loved the fact that Kris sees robots as equals, but it turned out she was having a hard time with doing the same. She hasn’t said one sentence to the robot yet, but somehow she already put this label on him. The robot label. But on the other hand Hye found it intimidating that something that isn’t even alive made her feel guilty. She decided to drop her prejudge she has about robots, since it somehow made her feel bad, almost as if she was the same as her father with his prejudge about the poor.

“My name is Hye” she said while giving a small sincere smile. Even though it was only a small smile it meant a lot to Kai. He was scared, now that Kris had left him here on his own. He heard he would probably spend most of his time her with the girl and he feared that she did not like him at all. Since it was said that she’s not fond of robots. “I’m happy to finally meet you, Hye” Kai said while returning the smile. Hye was a bit taken aback by his smile, ‘gosh, Kris sure knows how to make handsome robots’ she thought to herself. He almost made her blush, with just one smile.

Without knowing she brought up her hand to his face and poked his cheek. When he looked at her with confused eyes she came back to her senses and quickly took her hand away. “Was there something on my face?” he asked Hye while raising an eyebrow. “Huh? Oh, yeah, there was something there, it’s gone now” she said while smiling awkwardly. She was curious as to how his skin felt, she thought it would be hard, something like a Barbie, but she was proven wrong. His skin felt like hers, is was soft and felt warm she wondered whether he really was a robot. “Sooo, now that Kris is finally gone, I’m going to eat my breakfast. You can.. ehm choose a guest chamber and make it into your room in the meanwhile, the maids will help you, if you need anything just ask them” she said while skipping out of the room and going down the stairs for her first meal of the day.

Kai wasn’t sure what he was supposed to do now, she said he could choose a guest chamber but he didn’t even know where those were. He decided to just wait till Hye comes back to her room and ask her. He didn’t want to ask the maids for help. Somehow talking to people he hadn’t seen before scared him. He was scared that they wouldn’t like him, since he’s not really like them.
Kris told Kai that he’s special, that he’s neither a human nor a robot. It confused Kai a lot, when he asked “How can that be? What am I supposed to be then?” Kris just simply answered with “You’re supposed to be Kai, and you’re one of a kind”. Kai walked to Hye’s desk and saw some pictures from Hye when she was younger, next to her stood some other kids.

He also spotted some pictures of Hye and Kris together. Kai found it fascinating to see the change in their faces as they were younger in the pictures than they are right now. He wondered if his face would change like that too. He moved around the room and was already waiting for thirty minutes and started to get sleepy. He hadn’t slept at all since he left the government building, while traveling he saw so many things that amazed him, he didn’t dare to close his eyes for even a second.

Kai turned around and then he noticed the king sized bed, he was amazed by the size and wondered what Hye would needed such a big bed for. He figured that it wouldn’t hurt to close his eyes for a bit until Hye comes back. So he laid down on the bed and since the bed was way more comfortable than the bed he was used to, he went of to dreamland within seconds. Hye finished her breakfast and checked her messages on her phone. There were two social parties that her dad wanted her to go to. As much as she didn’t like the business people, she still had to go to these social events. She was famous around the higher ups, and everyone always expected her attendance.

After she was done checking her messages her phone suddenly started ringing, her father was calling her. “Hello dad!” she picked up the phone cheerfully. “Hi there, my beautiful daughter” he chuckled “I wanted to keep you up to date about something” he continued. “Oh, what is it dad?” she wondered what was so important  that he would personally call her about this. Normally Hye’s father would just tell the maids to deliver her a message. “Next time when you go to an event, or actually anywhere, take the robot with you. Instead of the bodyguards.
I fired them, since Kris told me that this robot is very skilled in fighting and stuff, plus he told me that the robot learns from what he sees. So the more he sees the smarter he’ll become.” Her father informed her. Hye was stunned that her father had actually fired her bodyguards to let one robot do the job instead. But even though she hates it, she did trust the fact that what Kris said was right. She knows that Kris is a genius, and if he says that his robot can do it, she believes it.

“I understand, thanks for letting me know dad” she answered before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone. She believed that the robot would be able to do the job, but she was irritated because she would have to take this Kai everywhere with her now. She didn’t like it one bit.
Hye walked up the stairs back to her room, when she opened the door though, she saw a rather displeasuring scene. This robot didn’t do what she had told him to do at all, he just fell asleep on her bed. Her own fluffy king sized bed. Though it was displeasuring, it was also confusing and fascinating. She never knew that robots were able to sleep at all.

Hye sat down on her bed next to his sleeping figure and wondered what she should do. When she took a look at his face he actually looked really tired. She stood up and walked out the door, to look for a maid in the hallway. Once she found a maid Hye told the maid to take Kai’s belongings and put it in the guest room that is right across her own room. After that she returned to her room and went behind her desk to finish her homework assignment which she has to turn in the next day.

Now that she thought about it, her father had said to take the robot everywhere, did that mean she was also supposed to take him with her to school? Hye shook her head, she wouldn’t do that. Even if it would make him smarter, her schoolmates would just bother her about him being a robot and probably ask her to make him do things for them. She didn’t want the robot to do anything for her classmates, Hye understood that if she let him do one thing for them they would expect her to let them use the robot for everything they want. And Kris told her that he didn’t want Kai to be ruined by stuck up people. Wait, she shook her head.
Why should she care about what Kris wanted for this robot? Hye was confused about her feelings after her last talk with Kris. She was having a huge battle with herself on whether she should trust what Kris had told her or not. If Kris really is still on her side, then she felt like she really has to take good care of this robot he entrusted her with. But if he did betray her and is trying to fool her then it would mean he’s using this robot to spy on her. Which is the biggest reason why she doesn’t like having this robot around her from now on.

The more she thought about Kris the more she became irritated, why was is so hard for her to see Kris’s true intensions. She didn’t want to believe that she had declared him as an enemy over nothing and that he would just let her do that. They had seriously been friends since forever, and she began to try and remember whether they ever discussed this betrayal before.

She couldn’t remember a thing though, all she could remember was always screaming at him to get the hell away from her since he betrayed her. Her eyes widened as she realized it might have been her fault that he wasn’t able to talk to her about his reasons for working for the government. The last talk they had was probably the first decent talk without acting since the betrayal.

Suddenly Hye was pulled away from her thoughts as she heard the bed creak behind her, she was shocked at first but then remembered that the robot had been sleeping on her bed. She stood up from behind her desk and turned around, but ran into something solid right as she wanted to take a step. Kai was already standing behind her within seconds when he got off of the bed, curious as to what the girl was doing and wondering if he should talk to her or not.

“Dammit, you scared me!” the girl said as she pushed him a bit, but of course Kai was still standing at the same spot, without moving. “Oh, sorry, that was not my intention” Kai answered hoping to calm this girl down, and it worked, he saw her eyes change from angry to.. normal. “Fine, just.. don’t stand so close to me” she gave him a little push again and this time Kai did take a step back. “I’m sorry for sleeping on your bed” Kai said shyly, “I wasn’t sure where the guest rooms where” he continued as he rubbed his neck. Hye sighed “I told you to ask the maids if you needed help, didn’t I?” “Yessss, but I.. I” Kai didn’t want to admit that he was scared for strangers, Kris had called him perfect.
 

Kai knew that being perfect meant you could do anything. How could someone who’s perfect not be able to talk to strangers. Hye didn’t understand this robot’s problem at all, why was he having trouble which such an easy thing. She decided to ask Kris why he would call this robot his master piece if he couldn’t even choose a room for himself. “You what?” she raised an eyebrow expecting him to finish his sentence, but after 10 seconds she gave up on that. He looked like he was having a hard time with finding the right words. “Well I guess it doesn’t really matter anyway, I already told one of the maids to bring your belongings to the room across mine. So that will be your room from now on” she said while walking to the door of her own room. “You.. you did that for me?” Kai asked shocked. He hadn’t expected for this girl to do anything for him because he knew that in her eyes he is just a ‘robot’.

“Well, I figured you hadn’t done it yet, since you were out like a light” which reminded her of the weird fact that he slept, while she had never heard anything before about a robot sleeping before. “Why do you sleep anyway?” she asked curiously, “Kris told me I need sleep in order to keep my body from overworking” he answered right away. She looked confused with his answer, but decided to not ask him further about it, she now knew that if she wanted to know more about this robot the best way would be to just ask Kris, after all, he made him. “I see, well anyways, follow me I’ll show you your room. You can sleep on the bed there whenever you need to sleep” she said as she walked into the hallway and opened the door that was right across her room.
“See, all you stuff is here, go do whatever you want” she said as he walked into the room to explore it. She was about to step out and close the door when he stopped her “Wait, can I really do whatever I want?” he asked as he looked at her with big shiny eyes. He looked like a little kid who just got a huge present and Hye did her best to hold in her laugh. She regained composure before answering “Yeah, I just said so didn’t I?” and turned away to be stopped once again. “Is there a pool here?” he asked her. “You.. you want to swim?” she asked impressed. She hadn’t thought that a robot would be able to swim, his body should be heavy in the water and she wondered how Kris had built this amazing machine. “Yes, and well you say I can do anything that I want to do, but I don’t know what there is to do in this house” he said with a sad look on his face. Hye thought it was suspicious for a bit, but when she looked at his face again, she found him looking way to innocent to do anything bad. “I see, I’ll give you a tour around the house then”
