Lesath, the most beautiful planet that exists, where there’s peace, freedom and equality. At least that is what Moira has been taught ever since she was a little kid. As she grew older they teached her about a certain race, which is called Nix. Whereas her own race is called Aster. The Nix’s have always served the Asters. They live separately, the Nix’s are in greater amount compared to the Asters. But they are still controlled by the Asters, the Asters hold great power and keep Lesath together. The Nix’s cannot go against the Asters. That’s just the way it is. Lesath would fall apart if they did. And even though the Nix’s are practically used as slaves, they still keep holding on to the thought that there is equality, freedom and peace in Lesath. There is a big wall between the world of the Asters and Nixs. When an Aster turns 18 he or she is expected to go to the world of the Nix and pick out a Nix, which will forever stay by her or his side to serve.

As Moira turns 16, she begins to realize how cruel her most beautiful planet actually is. There is no peace, freedom or equality. It’s all fake. A week before she turned 18 her mother told her to get ready for her journey to the Nix’s world. She protested against her mother, saying “It’s not fair. If I choose someone to serve me for eternity, how can I ever see Lesath as a planet where there is supposed to be equality?”. Her mother just hissed at her telling her that even though everyone knows that our equality, freedom and peace is fake, we should still act like it isn’t, or else we would be destroying Lesath.

So if you choose someone to stay by your side for eternity, then it would be impossible to not fall in love with that person, I can hear you thinking. But it’s not that simple, love between a Nix and Aster is absolutely forbidden. Never ever has it happened in Lesath, and they will make sure it won’t ever happen in the future either. You see, everyone is to be engaged before they turn 18. Not only that, they’re also taught or better said ‘brainwashed’ ever since they were young, how filthy the Nix’s are. How below the Asters standards they are. How they are unable to love. How they don’t have any emotion.

No emotion?

That’s right, the Nix’s are really a different race. They may look the same. But they don’t have the same body as the Asters do. The asters were originally human. A long time ago humans have fled from the earth and started anew on the planet Lesath. There were already people living on this planet. The Nix’s. The Nix’s are pure beings. They don’t lie, listen and do exactly what you tell them to do. And they don’t have feelings like we do. Or at least, that is what Moira is told, who knows what really went on? Maybe they threatened the Nix’s to blow up Lesath if they didn’t listen. It’s a complicated history if you ask me.

This story is about Moira, a 17 year old girl who is about to turn 18. She will be going on her journey to the Nix’s world. She will find a Nix, and return within 1 week, as she has no other choice. As she finds her Nix who is named ‘Kai’ it turns out she doesn’t know anything, about this race called ‘Nix’.
