As time passes

The beat to my rhythm

7 months had passed and she became more and more attached to the boys over that time, especially Hansol. After the first two weeks, she had decided to stay with them. She couldn't bring herself to leave them anymore.

“Why do you have so many doctor’s appointments?” Jenissi questioned the girl while the four of them took a seat in the waiting room.

“Just to make sure I’m not sick. I’d rather be safe than sorry ya know.” She smiled as she looked at the older boy.

“Yeah but, you’re not. You’re not coughing, don’t have a fever, and you don’t sound sick either. You should probably tell him about those nightmares though….” Hojoon pointed out as he grabbed a magazine from the table and started reading. Angel looked at him and nodded.

“If you won’t we will.” Nakta stated plainly. Smiling she nodded again.

“I will. Don’t worry about it. Geez.” Hansol smiled and pinched her cheeks.

“We’re just worried that’s all.”

She smiled at him.

‘Yeah...worried….that’s something I should be doing not you….’

“Angel. The doctors ready to see you now.” The woman behind the front desk announced, smiling toward the bunch.

“Well. Everything seems fine. Nothing’s changed at all.” The doctor announced making the last part very clear to the girl. She smiled and nodded before looking at the guys.

“Could you leave for a moment? I kinda need to talk to him about something.” The guys nodded understandingly and exited the room. Angel let out a huge sigh as she buried her head into her hands.

“I see you couldn’t get rid of them.” The doctor stated as she looked at the frustrated girl in front of him. She slowly shook her head.

“I should have. I should have gotten rid of them when I still had the chance. Now, I have 13 friends one of which I fell in love with. I can’t handle this. I…...I Just can’t.” She stressed as she sat up and looked at the doctor. Looking at the girl in front of him he could find tears running down her cheeks. He sighed as he pulled her in for a hug.

“I’m so sorry Angel. I really wish I could help you. You do know that your ‘due date’ could technically be anytime from now to then correct? What the tests say isn’t final. It could be sooner or even a few weeks, months, or years later.” The doctor exclaimed trying to make the girl feel a bit better. Sniffing she looked up at him.

“You’re right which means it could be tomorrow too.”

“Don’t look at it that way. According to all of the test so far, you have at least 2 more months. Enjoy them and who knows. Maybe they’re wrong and it’s meant to be 2 years or 20 years!” He announced with a smile on his face.

“As for getting rid of those boys...I don’t think that’s possible anymore. Everytime you come here three others follow. Including Hansol.” He chuckled a bit. She blushed and nodded.

“He’s cute huh?” She smiled brightly.

“Do you think mom and dad would approve of him?”

The doctor looked at the smiling girl and nodded.

“I think they would. He seems like a nice young guy. Plus I know he’s taking good care of you. I think they’d be proud you found a guy like him.”

“Thank you. I’ll see you next month? Oh and thanks for the medicine again. I won’t bother you for too much longer.” She winked before standing up and walking toward the door.

“Now, I have to go. There a pack of hungry dogs at home and I’m cooking. It’s the least I can do for them.” She smiled.

“Angel” He mumbled before she opened the door. She sighed before turning around with a bright smile on her face.

“Don’t worry. I’ll tell them one day. Just not now.”

“Hey Angel. Let me ask you something.” Yano mumbled as he sat at the kitchen table watching the girl cook dinner. She replied with a humm and the boy continued.

“Why is your name angel?” He asked. The girl thought for a moment.

‘I wonder what will happen if…….’

“It’s a long story. Sure you wanna hear it?” Yano nodded as he motioned for the other guys to join him in the kitchen. As she turned around and found everyone either sitting or standing in the kitchen she giggled. She turned her gaze back toward the oven, not taking it off of the food as she told them the story.

“You see, I was born on a cold winter night. My mom was really sick back then so the doctor told her that if she gave birth to me now, one of us wouldn’t make it. My mom on the other hand disagreed with him. After I was born I was really sick. No one could say for sure if I would live or die. I didn’t breathe at all for the first few minutes and the doctors tried everything possible to get me to breathe on my own. After they hooked me up to a few machines for several days, I was finally breathing on my own. My parents had decided to call me angel from that day on because I truly was an angel in their eyes. I have an actual name but...I can’t really remember it….I don’t mind though. I like angel.” She chuckled.

She was surprised at the silence that followed her story. She refused to turn around to look at the pack behind her.

‘Maybe next time I’ll tell them the whole story….or not…...’

“So...you really are an angel?” B-Joo finally broke the silence. All of the guys were looking at her expectantly, waiting for a response. Laughing she turned around to face the waiting crowd. It surprised her at how serious they were.

“Guys. I’m not an actual angel. It’s just my name.”

“But you’re saying that you were never meant to even live, correct?” Sangdo questioned. She nodded.

“Now that part is true.”

“Well...I’m glad you’re alive and I’m sure everyone here would agree with me.” Gohn announced smiling. Looking around from one guy to the other she found all of them smiling and nodding in agreement with him. She sighed for a moment and turned back to the oven.

“The food’s done. Will someone set the table please?”

“Sure!” P-Goon answered as he bumped Xero and A-Tom, signaling for them to help him.

“Thanks!”

As day turned to night, the guys did what they usually always did.

“I’m so beating you!” Kidoh yelled as he leaned from side to side with the game controller in his hand. Seogoong grinned as he watched the younger boy.

“I’m already way ahead of you Kidoh.” he simply stated. Kidoh eyed the boy for a second before turning his gaze back onto the screen. Angel snickered at all of the boys in the living room. She had gotten so used to the yelling and loud video games it didn’t bother her anymore. Smiling she walked to Hansol’s room and closed the door behind her. Rummaging through his drawers she found a pair of basketball shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt to put on.

“And yet, you still wear my clothes.” Hansol announced as he walked through his door. She smiled and walked up to him.

“I like them. They’re comfortable. Plus, I thought you said you didn’t mind letting your girlfriend wear your clothes.” She grinned. He looked down at her and kissed her hair.

“You’re right. They do look really good on you but you do realize that you can’t come back out now, right?” He stated as he closed the door behind him. Confused she tilted her head at him.

“Wae?” He smirked as he took a seat on his bed.

“Because. I don’t want the other guys to see how good you look in my clothes.” grinning she walked over to his bed and took a seat next to him.

“Jealous?”

“Very.” He stated with a small smile on his face.

“You’re mine and only mine. I don’t want them or anyone to ever have you.” He announced as he hugged her tight making her laugh.

“What makes you think I want anyone else?” She questioned as he pulled her back, making the two of them lay down in his bed. She cuddled up next to him and put her head on his chest. He shrugged and smiled at her.

“Nothing. I just don’t want you to leave me. Ever.” Her smile faded a she heard those words. She looked up at him and frowned a bit.

“What do you mean? What if I get kidnapped one day and you won’t be able to find me? What if I have to leave one day for who knows what reason? And ya know, we all die one day….and then I’ll have to leave you weather you want me to or not.” She mumbled a bit. He looked down at her with a smile.

“None of us are going to let you get kidnapped. We will find you and whoever dares to do that to you. If you have to leave for who knows what reasons I’m going to come with you...and if you die…” He stopped as he looked at her. He didn’t know how to answer that particular question because he didn’t know what he would do.

“You just won’t okay? You’re not dying.” He stated with a serious face. She couldn’t help but giggle at how simple he made it to be.

“Hansol. Everyone dies one day.” He nodded.

“After they live a long and happy life with the one they love. That’s why you won’t die. You still have to live a long and happy life with me.” She shook her head at him smiling.

“You make that sound like it’s the easiest thing in the world” She mumbled. Leaning down he placed his lips on hers, pulling her into a sweet and loving kiss.

“It is. As long as you’re with me for the rest of my life I’ll be fine. As long as the sun has it’s shine,  The moon has it’s stars and every song has it’s lyrics everything will be fine.” He assured the girl. She smiled up at him and nodded. Cuddling into his arm more she closed her eyes. She couldn’t help but feel safe in his arms, as if nothing could ever harm her.

“Good night cutie” She whispered as the boy pulled his cover over the two of them.

“Good night angel.”
