I.... well hi! So... I'm not dead. YAY! I'm sorry I just disappeared off the face of the planet but it's really hard to get inspiration for a winter fic when it is boiling hot outside. XP Anwyays for sure I'm going to finish this.

A Winter Miracle – Chapter 11

Seunghyun watched with an ever heavy heart as Jiyong told the boys that he would be going back home.

The boy’s reactions were to be expected, Daesung lowered his head and Seungri burst into tears as he wrapped his arms around Jiyong’s neck.

The tears forming in Jiyong’s eyes twisted his heart and he walked outside. Taking a deep breath of cold air he shivered. It was still a little too early to head out to work, he thought leaning against the wall.

His reached up and wrapped around his shoulder which had been bothering him a bit but it wasn’t enough to stop him from working. He could here soft murmuring inside, probably Jiyong calming down Seungri. He calmed himself as much as possible before going back in.

Jiyong had moved the boys to the kitchen table and was putting down a bowl of cereal in front of them. Seungri’s eyes were swollen and red and still tearing as he ate quietly with a sniffle breaking the silence.

“I thought you left. Here’s your coffee” Jiyong said softly as he approached the man with a travel mug and some toast in his hand.

“Thanks.”

“Hey I think I should take the kids to school this morning” Seunghyun said as he watched the kids eat slowly.

Jiyong frowned a little but nodded “Sounds good, maybe right now wasn’t the best time to tell them.”

Seunghyun chose to say nothing but he did reach out and pulled Jiyong against him wrapping his arm around him.

Jiyong laid his head on Seunghyun’s chest and closed his eyes, he breathed in deeply and took Seunghyun’s distinct smell along with some of the iciness from outside.

“We’re done!”

Pulling away Jiyong laid a hand on Seunghyun’s cheek caressing it lightly.

“I’ll see you later then?”

“Yeah” Seunghyun smiled and leaned down kissing the man lightly on the lips softly biting Jiyong’s bottom lip.

“Daesung, Seungri we’re leaving. I’m taking you to school today, get your stuff” Seunghyun called over Jiyong’s shoulder.

The two men helped the boys get their jackets on and boots on before they were being ushered out the door.

“Take care, okay?” Jiyong spoke softly to Seunghyun as he helped zip up the man’s jacket as Seunghyun stuffed the rest of his toast in his mouth.

“Yeah no worries.”

Jiyong stood by the door as the three left the house, the silence deafening.

Seunghyun sat back in the seat of his truck as he breathed in deeply. His body ached slightly but he just took a deep breath and started his truck.

The drive was the usual and the ground was a slushy mess but at least it wasn’t ice. It wasn’t ice, he thought bitterly.

Pulling into his driveway he blinked seeing the pristine car sitting outside his home.

Jiyong’s car.

Getting out he couldn’t help but check out the car, it was a two door candy apple red beauty. He couldn’t help but run his gloveless hand along it feeling the smooth surface, totally Jiyong, he thought.

Walking up to the porch he was a little surprised at the silence that greeted him.

Jiyong was sitting on the couch each boy curled up on either side as they slept.

“Is… everything okay?” Seunghyun asked softly as he took his jacket off dropping it on the couch next to the boys on the couch.

“Yeah they just… wanted to spend time with me” Jiyong spoke softly as he fingers carded through the boys’ hair.

With a nod Seunghyun went back into his room where he changed into much more comfortable clothing before coming back and finding that Jiyong had untangled himself from the two boys.

“What’s for dinner?” Seunghyun asked as he accepted Jiyong into his arms.

“Don’t know” Jiyong shrugged as he buried his face into Seunghyun’s neck as his hands ran up the man’s clothed back.

Kissing Jiyong’s head Seunghyun hugged him close “It’s alright. I’ll cook today.”

Jiyong helped Seunghyun in the kitchen, they made the same thing Jiyong made his first day there, beef stew.

They ate in silence, relishing the hardy meal and being together.

That night Jiyong put the kids to bed and even read them a book they had checked out of the library. When he was done reading Jiyong looked up from the book noticing the two boys were asleep. Closing the book he set it on the night stand and turned off the small lamp.

“Goodnight hyung” Seungri softly whispered before turning around and hugging his pillow.

Jiyong paused at the door and held his breath as his eyes stung horribly “Goodnight” he whispered as a sob threatened to break through.

Jiyong lay in bed resting his head on the pillow next to Seunghyun’s. The man had tried to stay awake for him but his long days working and his healing injury had been taking its toll on him. Jiyong smiled softly as he heard the light snoring coming from the man.

Moving closer he wrapped his arm around Seunghyun and closed his eyes as Seunghyun hummed softly before quieting.

“You have no idea how much I’m gonna miss you” Jiyong mumbled as he closed his eyes a couple of tears escaping from his eyes streaking down his cheeks.

The alarm went off announcing to the two sleeping men that it was time. Seunghyun sluggishly got up from bed and headed to the bathroom after turning the alarm off.

Jiyong frowned as his source of warmth left but he couldn’t linger in bed.

Sitting up he sat in the nest of blankets waiting for Seunghyun to finish in the bathroom before he could have his turn.

Finishing up his routine he packed away his toiletries and got dressed in travel friendly clothes.

Between the two of them they got the kids ready for school and fed.

“I guess… Have a safe trip Jiyong” Seunghyun as he grabbed his coat and put it on at the same time as the kids were putting on their boots and jackets. “And you have a good day too. I’m… I’m…” Jiyong sighed as he shook his head, he couldn’t formulate the words he wanted.

Nodding Seunghyun placed his hand on Jiyong’s shoulder before turning around and walking outside.

Jiyong said goodbye to the kids as the two hugged him and wished him goodbye and that he should come visit often. Nodding Jiyong smiled and ruffled their hair before he let them get into the truck.

With a forced smile Jiyong waved at them as Seunghyun backed out of the property.

Jiyong’s heart was threatening to jump out of his chest in pain. Swallowing his tears Jiyong went inside and grabbed his things to pack into his car.

Locking the door and leaving the key under the mat he made his way to his car, keys jingling.

Sitting in the car Jiyong looked at the small house that had become his home these part few days. A true home especially with those special people who lived in it “I’m gonna miss you.”

Sniffing Jiyong shook his head and put the car in gear to head out. To go back to Las Vegas, to his job, his life before this small town, his life before Seunghyun, his life alone.
