Chapter 6.

Connecting the Dots.

- Heechul's P.O.V.-

After Sungmin confirmed my worries I needed to find Han Geng. Since that guy killed four people and was charged for child abuse. Enough reasons to keep him away from my family and that other family whom was staying here.

But first I needed to find Han Geng.

Why did this happen to us? I already need to work and look as ugly as possible -which is really hard- and now there's such a guy walking free!

“HANNIE!” I yelled when I was close to the kitchen.

“Chull not now. All the guests are in the dining room and want something to eat,” Han Geng replied the moment I walked in.

OMG, did he just say áll the guests? Does that include him too?

“Hannie, pléáse?” I asked with puppy eyes.

“Not working anymore. Just wait till I'm finished,” he answered never looking up from his cooking.

Damn, why didn't it work anymore? It was not like I asked so much of him.. Right?

“Now, what did you need?” Han Geng asked the moment he finished with cooking.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him out of the kitchen.

“Chullie we just did it this morning, are you in that big of a need again?” he asked me.

I stopped walking and stared at him in surprise.

“ert!” I said smacking him lightly on his arm. For one time I wasn't thinking about something like that.

“What?! You're begging me to come with you and now you're dragging me into... a storeroom? What am I suppose to think then?” he explained. I looked up an giggled when I saw where I had dragged him into.

But then I realized why we were here again and made a serious face. That's when he stopped laughing.

“Hannie? Do you remember that guy on the television this morning?” I asked him seriously.

“You mean that murderer? Yes, why?” He asked curious.

“Well.. He's our guest...” I whispered but he started to laugh.

“If that's your plan to scare their father.. It's weak Chull,” he laughed.. Did just laughed at me while I'm dead serious for once in a live time?

“Han Geng! I'm tótally serious right now!” I said angrily and stared at him.

“Yeah and why would he be here?”

“I don't know! But his name is Kim Junbae,”

“There are more of them,”

“And he fits the description!”

“Which description?”

“Sungmin was watching, I asked him if he had watched the news before they left. He said he did and gave me the description. And Sungmin thought that it was that murderer too,”

“Are you really sure ánd serious about this?”

“YES!”

“Then we have a problem,” he murmured finally, like I didn't knew we had a problem..

“We should inform the other family, Kang-In and Lee Teuk, they need to know about this,” he concluded and I nodded.

“I liked your earlier idea better,” he stated, I sighed and made a sad face. He laughed but I ditched away, knowing he was about to rub trough my hair.

“Nót my beautiful hair!”

We decided that we probably would find the couple inside their room since Lee Teuk was ill not that long ago.

So we walked up there and knocked on the door. Kang-In opened.

“Good evening,” he greeted us.

“Good evening, can we come in? It's serious business,” I said as serious as I could be.

“Uh-sure?” he opened the door to let us in. I saw how Lee Teuk was in bed again, still not fully recovered.

“I'm sorry that we need to bother you tonight but we are afraid we need to warn you,” Han Geng started.

I closed the door and leaned against it. Kang-In sat down next to Lee Teuk. I let Han Geng do the talking. He would probably bring the news a bit more subtle than I would.

“When we were shopping this morning we saw the news about a criminal that escaped. I don't know if you heard about him?” he asked. I saw both of them looking at each other. I knew the answer since I had talked to Sungmin already.

“Yes we did heard about that,” Kang-In answered.

“Well we're afraid that there is a big possibility that he is here as our new guest,” Han Geng said. I could clearly see the shock on their face.

“Well.. Call the police!” Kang-In exclaimed.

“Uhm, without phone? If we had a working phone your problems were also over and you would be home already,” I answered back, and he realized I had a point.

“And now? He's a killer, what if he's going to hurt us? Those ghosts and stuff are horrible enough,” Lee Teuk said and snuggled closer to Kang-In.

“Well he's a killer and he had abused a child so I'm not only worried about myself, more for the kids,” I replied and shivered by that thought.

“Talking about it, where are they right now?”

The moment Kang-In said that, all four of us shot up and stormed out of the room.

- End Heechul's P.O.V.-

- Sungmin's P.O.V.-

Kim Junbae. I swear I heard that name before but I had no clue where.

I walked through the hall thinking really hard since I wanted to know where I heard it before.

At dinner this night, which none of us ate a lot of, we saw the new guest and indeed he looked like the description I had heard on the TV.

And poor Ryeowook, sat like a statue at the table. Wait..

I stopped walking.

Ryeowook was really uncomfortable at dinner, but we knew that the dinner would be this horrible. What changed this night compared to other nights.

“SNAP!” I cursed and ran towards our room.

Now I know where I recognized the name of. The kid that was abused by Junbae was Ryeowook! At least, that would put one plus one.. But what if Junbae is after Ryeowook this time? He also killed his mother..

I ran as fast as I could to our room and threw the door open.

But neither Donghae nor Ryeowook was there.

I ran back out to look for Ryeowook. As long as I found him before that Junbae guy did..

“Ryeowook!!” I yelled while running. Afterwards thinking that it wasn't such a smart idea to yell. If Ryeowook had answered Junbae could find him too.

I ran hoping to find him somewhere, or someone who could help me.

Than at the end of the hall I saw someone stand there.

“Hey.. Hey!” I yelled but when I came closer I saw that it was Kyuhyun.

Even though I wanted to find him a while ago so I could talk to him, right now Ryeowook was my first priority.

“Did you see Ryeowook by any chance?” I asked him. I saw a shocking look on his face. Probably because I was talking to him.

“No.. I-uh haven't seen him.. Why do you need him?” he stumbled looking surprised.

Only that I couldn't really easy explain what was going on without bursting out all Ryeowook's secrets.

“It's a long story and secrets that aren't mine.. But let's say that I nééd to find him!” I said a bit hysterically.

“Shall I help you?” he asked. I nodded and started to run again.

I heard that he followed me. But I just wanted to find Ryeowook.

We had almost crossed the whole first floor when I saw again someone.

“Yesung-hyung!” I heard Kyuhyun yell. Damn it, again not Ryeowook.

“Yesung-hyung, have you seen Ryeowook?” Kyuhyun asked when we stood by Yesung.

“No not since dinner, why?” Yesung wondered.

“That's kind of personal but let's say we nééd to find him first!” I tried to convince them to just keep looking without asking questions.

“Kyu, have you tried the control-room?” Yesung asked. What control-room? That made it sound that this was more like a prison where they could look over everyone.

“Stupid! No we haven't, better go and see if we can find him,” Kyuhyun said and started to run.

For a second I looked surprised but then decided to follow him.

After running for a few minutes we came in a room I wouldn't have found without following Kyuhyun.

But the room was something I didn't expect in this hotel. Well overall in hotels I wouldn't expect something like this.

A few old computer monitors showed all kind of scenes happening in the hotel.

The quality of the films was horrible, but good enough to see someone walking around.

“What ís this?” I asked. I really felt watched right now.

“We have a lot old, used to be broken, webcames and cameras hanging all over the mansion. So we can pull of pranks,” Kyuhyun explained now switching to different cameras looking for Ryeowook.

“Don't worry. In the rooms where our guests are sleeping aren't any cameras for the privacy. Only in the hallways, public rooms and several 'prank' rooms,” Yesung explained making me calm down a bit. Luckily they didn't watch us sleep or shower and stuff.

“And found him?” I asked while looking at the screens too.

Kyuhyun shook his head and continued switching cameras

Come-on Ryeowook, where are you?

“Wait! What is that?” I said, pointing at one of the screens. Kyuhyun made the image bigger.

In a room someone was cuddled into a ball. The view wasn't really clear but I do think that it was Ryeowook.

“Where is that? There is a big chance that it is Ryeowook,” I said looking at Yesung.

“Come-on, I'll lead the way,” Yesung said and started to walk again. Kyuhyun and I followed.

“It's suppose to be that room. But it's a prank-room so the door is a bit hard to open,” Yesung said once we had arrived at the room we saw on the computer. I knocked on the door.
“Ryeowook? Ryeowook!” I said hoping for an answer.

“Sungminnie?” I heard a soft voice and I tried to open the door, which didn't work.

“Please open the door, he's here,” I begged Yesung and Kyuhyun. They quickly looked at each other and then opened –I had no clue how-the door.

In the corner, cuddled up but looking at the door with big, red, puffy eyes sat Ryeowook. I sighed in relieve. At least I found him first.

I ran towards him and pulled him into a hug.

“Don't worry, we'll protect you from him alright?” I whispered to him.

He cried even harder and hold tight onto me.

Yesung knelt down on the other side of Ryeowook and caressed his back.

“What's wrong? Did we do anything wrong?” Kyuhyun asked worried.

“No that's not it.. But it is possible that we go to a place where no other guests can come, or something like that?” I wondered, looking first at Yesung and than at Kyuhyun.

“Yes there is,” Yesung answered.

“Then we should get Donghae and go there..” I whispered.

“No I got a better idea,” Yesung started and then looked at me and Kyuhyun.

“You and Kyuhyun first talk things out because we can’t use more problems right now. Then get Donghae and then come to that room. Then I'll bring Ryeowook there now,” Yesung said and it made me stop breathing.

“Here I'll get you safe. Sungmin will join you later alright?” Yesung said to Ryeowook whom nodded and took Yesungs hands.

“Please be careful alright?” I whispered.

Yesung nodded and never let go of Ryeowook's hands.

Together they left the room. Leaving me and Kyuhyun awkward alone in a room.

And honestly I had no clue what to do or say next. I did wanted to talk to him but I had no idea how to start.

After a little silence I pattered on the place next to me to invite him. And he did came to sit next  to me.

“I.. um.. was wondering if.. you still would wanted to tell me your story,” I whispered but I know for sure he heard it.

“Do you want to hear all of it?” he asked, “because I don't think you'll like the whole story.” He looked at me and I looked back.

“I still want to hear it,” I assured him. I knew for sure I wasn't going to like all of it. Since I still was afraid that he had a stupid reason.. But on the other hand, maybe it would clear up a lot of things.

“Well then I'll start with how I got adopted in the first place. My mom died when I was just a baby so I was alone with my dad. When I was five my dad just left me alone. Probably hoping I would died there. But Siwon and Eunhyuk were playing, found me and took me home to their adopting parents Han Geng and Heechul. They went to the police but there wasn't much they could do. They were about to give me to an orphanage but Heechul and Han Geng took me in. So now they had three adopted children,” Kyuhyun started his story.

His story was just as sad as that from almost all those whom lost their parents. But still I felt sorry for him because of it.

“But the problem was that they didn't have much money. They both had a heavy but low paid job. We lived in an apartment that was so small. Eunhyuk, Siwon and I slept in one room and our parents slept in the small living room. The problem became bigger after we all went to high school. Han Geng even needed to take two jobs so he was barely home. But when he was he always tried to make the best out of it. Heechul always took care of us after his job.. And then I met you,” he stopped for a second to smile at me, I smiled back.

“I first thought you were such stupid rich guy. But I did fall in love with you. I pretended I was also a rich guy. That's why I never told you about my family. I thought you would dump me if you knew it,” he sighed. Now I felt sorry for him. He didn't have much at home and I made him feel he had to lie otherwise I would dump him. Was I really such an obvious rich kid at school?

“And then one day we got a letter. Heechul and Shindong's great-great-whatever-aunt died and we would inherit a big mansion. It was amazing news and Heechul and Han Geng wanted to move.. But first they wanted to know if we would agree to it.

Eunhyuk agreed directly. They bullied him at school so he would love to move.

Siwon didn't mind it either. He said that it would only be good for us, a new change.

I was the only problem. And the reason for that was you. I love you so I first didn't want to leave. But seeing how happy this change made the rest of my family, I didn't want to be the reason to ruin it. And I was still afraid that when you knew the truth you didn't want me anymore, so that's why I broke up,” he told me. It made me think.. If I would be in his position, I would do exactly the same I think.

“Family first,” I murmured and he nodded. But he wasn't finished yet.

“When we sold everything and together with Shindong, Yesung and Kibum we moved. But when we came here the house was even worse than this. But we had barely any money so we couldn't go back.

Shindong suggested to make a hotel of it, but to renovate the mansion it would cost so much. Then Heechul said that we could make a hotel of it, a ghost hotel, a Haunted Mansion. We would act like ghosts and so, to give the guests a night they would never forget. But everything is fake. Yesung's head doesn't fall off, the other one is just a fake one. Siwon has two arms but hides one. Those are a few examples. And even though  we do need to help in the hotel, live here is much better. We have our own room, go to school and even a study after that. And scaring people can be really funny,” Kyuhyun finished his story.

“And what about the food? Is that fake too?” I asked. Since he said that everything was fake I couldn't help but the ask. He laughed.

“No most of it is real because in some countries they do really eat it.. But some things are fake,” he explained.

I sighed and looked at my knees. Like Lee Teuk said, he did have a good reason.

“But why didn't you just told me all of this, back then?” I wondered.

“I don't know. Probably thought you wouldn't believe me. Tell me honestly, if you hadn't been here, would you believe something like a Haunted Mansion?” he asked and looked at me. I couldn't help but to smile.

“Okay got your point,” I murmured but did give him a hug.

“Sorry for getting so angry. I think you made the right decision,” I murmured to him. He hugged me back.

“I'm sorry for not telling you everything and dumping you like that. That was probably my biggest mistake ever made,” he said and stared at me. I stared back.

“Well and.. uh.. I also do still love you,” I murmured.

“Hé? What did you say?” he asked.

“I love you,” I said a little bit louder.

“Yah! Cho Kyuhyun! I love you alright!” I hit him softly. He laughed and it was almost like we never broke up.

“I love you too Minnie,” he answered making me blush again. Especially after he kissed me. Something I definitely had missed.

“And now, let's solve that other problem,” he grinned and helped me up.

- End Sungmin's P.O.V. -

- Heechul's P.O.V. -

All four of us stormed out of the room. Even Lee Teuk whom stood there with shaky legs.

A child abuser and murder in our mansion while we had no clue where our kids were.

We ran towards the room where Lee Teuk and Kang-In's kids stayed. Since it was already getting late they probably would be there.

The moment we opened the door and found an empty room I think it was a moment the four of us started to panic.
