  “I’m sorry, only two can get on at a time.”

   Yoogeun wanted to ride the camel, thus dragging Jinki and me to line up with him.

  You know how Jinki doesn’t want to hold Yoogeun.

  I’m taking my revenge on Jinki because he got the right answer to my joke earlier. Plus, I won his dare a while ago and I’m picking the next ride.

  “Oh, is that so? Jinki, why don’t you go on the ride with Yoogeunnie?” I said with an apologetic smile on my face, but I was actually grinning inside. My plan was getting Jinki to ride the camel with Yoogeun, so he could not avoid physical contact with the child.

  Jinki stopped zoning out and had a confused look on his face.

  “What?”

  “I said why don’t you go on the ride with Yoogeun? I’ll wait for you over there.”

  “Wha-“

  “Quick! The others are waiting. Go on the ride with him. Everything is going to be alright.” And I really meant th

  Jinki got onto the camel first and sat at the back seat. Yoogeun was having some difficulty getting onto the camel’s back for the camel kept moving.

  “Sir, if you could please hold the kid’s hand and help him onto the seat.”

  “Uh, oh. Okay.”

  Taking a deep breath, Jinki reached out and Yoogeun gladly took his big thick hand in his tiny little ones. With Jinki’s help, Yoogeun finally got to sit on the camel’s back in front of Jinki.

  “Sir, please hold on to his hand at all times during the ride.”

  Yoogeun held Jinki’s hand tightly and Jinki didn’t even know what to feel.

  Panic? Fear? Nervousness?

  He didn’t have time to feel any of that. Right now, his only concern was to safely finish and get off the ride with Yoogeun.

  “Noona! The ride was fun!” Yoogeun came up and hugged me. 

  “Really? How fun?” I lifted him up.

  “It was THIS fun!”

  “Jinki, did you enjoy-“ Jinki looked relieved and tired, he was looking better than I expected though. I thought he would be sweating a lot and crying by the time he got off the ride. That was an exaggeration, but you know what I mean.

  “Noona , I’m hungry.” Yoogeun tugged on my finger.

  I pulled out a kimbap roll from my bag and started feeding Yoogeun after we got a seat. Glancing at Jinki who was still “shocked” about his ride with Yoogeun, I picked up a slice with the chopsticks in my hand and put it in front of his masked face.

  “Say ah!” I said, trying to cheer him up. I’m starting to feel sorry for pushing him to ride the camel with Yoogeun. Now he looks traumatized.

  “Noona, I can taste cucumber!” Yoogeun announced.

  “That’s right, Yoogeunnie. There is cucumber in there!” I praised, using my free hand to pat his head. I made 2 kinds of kimbap today. One was a regular kimbap with beef and cheese and the other had beef in it and made a little more special with the leftover kimchi cucumber that was in the fridge. I guess we both got the beef and cheese kimbap a while ago.

  “Jinki-yah, say ah~” I urged. Jinki slowly took of his mask and ate the slice in one big bite.

  Yoogeun’s gaze was fixated on Jinki the whole time, like he was studying his features with great concentration.

  “Onew ap-“ Yoogeun’s words went unnoticed as Jinki suddenly coughed. At first, it looked like he was choking on the kimbap, so I gave his back a few pats and handed him the water bottle.

  “Onew ap-“ Jinki couldn’t help but cough after he swallowed the kimbap slice.

  “Here, drink this.” Hye Jung patted his back as she handed him a bottle.

  Jinki’s coughs became more and more severe; coughs became wheezes and gasps for air.

  He was having a hard time breathing and was feeling lightheaded at the same time.

  What do I do? What do I do? Jinki can’t breathe!

  I desperately looked around for people who could help, but to no avail. Luckily, there was a clinic just beside the picnic table we were using.

  “Jinki, we’re going to the clinic. It’ll be alright soon.” I reassured him, though clearly worried myself. Jinki concentrated on getting more air into his lungs.

  “Yoogeun-ah, let’s go bring hyung to the clinic.” I hurriedly took hold of his little hand before helping Jinki to stand up and head to the clinic together.

  “…Make sure to not let him near any of that food he ate just now, it gave him a serious allergic reaction. He’s alright now. You can go check on him.” A doctor informed Yoogeun and I who were anxiously sitting in the waiting room. I bowed to the doctor, thanking him for saving my friend’s life.

  “Jinki-yah, are you alright now?” Worry clearly audible in my voice. It must be the cucumber he had an allergy to.

   “I’m alright. I’m feeling a lot better now.” A sitting Jinki looked up to me.

  “That’s good to hear.” I sighed in relief. I was so scared that we wouldn’t make it to the clinic because the wheezing got really bad and his lips swelled making them look like sausages. He also managed to tell me he was feeling nauseous with much difficulty as he struggled for air.

  “Appa, are you feeling better?” Yoogeun finally talked to him. Yoogeun barely paid any attention to Jinki the “weird hyung” a while ago because he was zoning out way too much for Yoogeun’s liking.

  Wait, did Yoogeun just call him appa-

  “-This is a call for a lost child. Jung Yoogeun. Jung Yoogeun. Your teacher, Park Ha Young-ssi, is waiting for you at the Lost & Found centre. Yoogeun is 100cm in height-“

  “Yoogeun’s guardians? Omo, I almost forgot!” I muttered glancing at Yoogeun who was talking to Jinki.

  “Jinki-yah, stay here and rest. I’ll bring Yoogeun to his guardian, I’ll come back for you later.” I was already out the door with Yoogeun before Jinki could oppose to my idea. However, Yoogeun broke free from my grasp.

  “Noona, wait a minute.” Yoogeun ran back inside.

  A little Yoogeun came running to Jinki.

  “Aigoo, Yoogeunnie. What are you doing here? Noona is waiting for you outside.”

  “I haven’t even said goodbye.” He looked up to Jinki with his big doe-like eyes.

  “Come here, you.” Jinki put his arms around the little boy, pulling him into a hug. Feeling happy, the tired Jinki couldn't help but grin.

  He gently Yoogeun’s back and patted his bottom as a sign of gratefulness.

  Yoogeun struggled and found his way out the hug. He climbed onto Jinki’s lap and whispered.

  “…ew-appa, I missed you. Let’s see each other again.” Jinki didn’t manage to hear the first word well.

  “Bye bye.” Yoogeun gave him kiss on the cheek and ran back outside.

(Jonghyun, is always watching... Please excuse him, he isn't supposed to be there.)

  “Bye, be careful not to get lost again.” Jinki reminded the little boy. He felt at ease now. He realized that he wasn’t really scared of Yooguen. But then why was he avoiding him earlier?

  Jinki sneezed.

   “Now I’m cold.” He mumbled to himself as he put on the mask, using it to keep his face warm and possibly avoid people from seeing his lips that were still swelling.

  Jinki replayed Yoogeun’s little conversation with him just now and smiled.

  He wasn't so bad with kids after all.

  That’s strange. Jinki swore Yoogeun call him ‘appa’ (dad) just now…

I'd just like to apologize for not updating as much as quick as before. 

Schoolwork and writer's block have been getting the best of me.
