Taemin POV:

When I finally landed home, I was exhausted. Perhaps I should have let Key give me a ride. Once I entered the house I made my way to my room to shower and prepare for dinner.  When I stepped out of the shower I was met with Onew-hyung casually sitting on my bed reading a book. He noticed my presence and put the book down. He looked at me intently and made a gesture for me to sit. I sat down next to him knowing what was coming.

“So Taemin-ah, want to explain to hyung how you got that bruise? And don’t feed me a lie that you fell down…you aren’t clumsy like me.” Onew told me sternly but gently. I felt a tear go down my cheek as I explained.

“I-I was at lunch and I ran into this girl….and she and she….” Onew noticed his brother sobbing and pulled him close.

“Shhhhh its okay it’s okay baby brother…hyungs got you hyungs got you….” Onew cooed in my ear. I continued as I felt him rubbing circles on my back.

“She had the jocks beat me up…she she told them I pushed her on the ground.” Onews eyes darkened at that. He could not believe that someone would make up lies about his baby brother.

“But then….Key and Kevin saved me…they saved me from being worse off…” Onew nodded but then took his brother face in his hands and looked deep into his eyes.

“Taemin-ah…I thought I told you if you were in any kind of immediate danger to call me? Did I not say that?” Onew asked gently. I nodded.

“Then why baby boy, why did you not call me? Do you not need me anymore?” I looked up startled at this. I buried my face in my brother’s chest and snuggled next to him.

“No hyung I do need you!! I just I just froze and I couldn’t call you…I I was so scarred I couldn’t…” Onew cradled Taemin, regretting his selfish words. He couldn’t imagine how scarred Taemin must have been.

“Its okay little one…I’m sorry for what I said. I’m glad you are safe, I owe those friends of your gratitude. However still if you ever need me, I have your back okay? Hyung has got your back.” Onew said with a smile. I smiled as well.

“Thank you hyung…I love you” I said and that earned me a squeeze and kiss to my head. I snuggled closer to my hyung as we began talking about our day.

“So hyung did you make any friends?” I asked. Onew smiled.

“Yea I did, Joon and Mir.” I nodded.

“What are they like Hyung?” Onew beamed at that.

“Oh Mir is funny and nice and has his head on straight that’s for sure.” I nodded.

“And what about Joon-shii” At the mention of Joons name I saw my brother come alive.

“He’s amazing Taemin-ah. He’s sweet, funny, care free, a bit of a goof ball and so polite. He has a smile that can melt your heart and he’s pretty well built and...” I burst out laughing. Onew just blushed.

“w-what?” Onew asked. I whipped my tears away and looked at my brother.

“You’re in love Hyung! I’ve never seen you so animated! Like a kid on Christmas!” Onew blushed.

“I’m not in love with him Tae I just…..admire him is all….” I giggled.

“Mhmmmm sureeeee hyung” I said mischievously. That earned me a smack.

“So what are Mir and Joon-shii?” I asked generally curious.

“Well they are wizards which is really awesome.” I clapped my hands amused.

“That’s awesome hyung! My friend Key I was telling you about he’s a god from the line of Aphrodite and he obviously lives in Olympus so I can see him whenever I want! Kevin is a muse!” I said as I talked about my amazing new friends. Onew listened intently to my stories. We soon got into a discussion about our classes.

“Angel history is so boring hyung…its nothing interesting…” I complained making a pout form on my plump lips. Onew laughed.

“Oh it will get interesting don’t worry. My class talks more in-depth about romance and stuff like that. There was a chapter that really grabbed my attention however. It was stating how since we are the divine line some rules apply like we aren’t allowed to be tainted by a creature of a more darker force….or something like that. I mean it’s okay with us inter marrying between species but something about dark beings is a no no I don’t really get it. That was centuries ago though, times have changed so I’m sure it doesn’t apply anymore.” Onew babbled on.

“Wow hyung that sounds way more interesting I wish I was taking senior angel history too…” I said generally more interested in this.

“Can I see your text book? Please?” I begged wanting to know more. Onew shook his head.

“Maybe later little one, I think it’s time for dinner right about now. Let’s hurry down stairs, I’m sure mother is chomping at the bit to hear about our day.” I laughed as I walked down stairs with my brother. Our dinner with mother was always divine, she always prepared such delicious dishes for us to eat. Mother was delighted to hear about our new friends and how our first day went. I decided it would be best to hide that fact that I got beat up today, it pained me to keep something so important from my mother, but I didn’t want her to worry.  After dinner I said my goodnights to my mother, and decided I wanted to go to my brother’s room. I knocked on the door and didn’t find him in there. I wondered around the mansion calling his name but I couldn’t find him. I looked out one of the windows in the house and saw my brother sitting on a cloud, his wings spread and relaxed.  I decided to go up to him and surprise him. I extended my wings and flew to him. I sat down next to him. He looked up and smiled.

“Shouldn’t you be in bed little brother?” I frowned.

“Shouldn’t you?!” Onew laughed.

“I’m older and wiser; I get to stay up past my bed time.” Onew joked with me poking my stomach. I giggled and batted his hands away. I laid my head on his shoulder and watched the wind make different shapes with the clouds. Suddenly I had the urge to share something with my brother.

“Hyung…?” I asked softly.

“Yes Taemin?” he inquired with general curiosity. I twiddled my thumbs and began playing with my wings.

“Well there is…..there’s this guy at my school…..he’s…..he’s really cool, nice, handsome and athletic...but…” Onew looked at me when I paused.

“But what?” I continued.

“But he has a girlfriend….” Onew gave me a sad smile.

“I’m sorry little one… its okay I understand.” I looked up.

“You do?” Onew nodded with a look that was a mixture of sad and disappointment.

“Yea…” I wanted to ask my brother what was wrong but I decided not to push him today. Instead I just said.

“Its okay hyung, we have each other. I’ll always be here for you hyung so it’s okay!” I said with a large smile. Onew laughed and just ruffled my hair.

“Thank you little one, I’ll always be here for you too. No matter what the danger or problems come ahead, I’ll always be here to protect you. I know you’re a smart kid Taemin with a heart of gold. I just know you’re going to be just fine.” Onew said giving me a kiss on the cheek. I smiled and cuddled closer to my brother.

Onew POV:

Taemin and I stared at the stars in silence a bit longer, until I felt a soft vibration on my shoulder. I looked down to see that Taemin had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I chuckled and picked him up. He was light as a feather. I tucked him into bed and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

“Good night baby brother.” I whispered into his ear. I walked into my room and decided to look out my window and think for just a little while longer. When I got there I found a white rose on my window sill.  I looked at it curiously. It smelled divine…like no rose I have ever found up here.  I inspected the rose more and noticed is shined like it had been bathed in diamonds, but what really caught my attention was the note attached to it. “Dear Onew.  I sent you this to celebrate our new friendship. A white rose means friendship I have learned, and I thought it symbolized you since you are as soft, pure, and beautiful as this rose. Please enjoy it. From Joon. Ps. Please join me and Mir again for lunch tomorrow. I look forward to it. Sweet dreams beautiful angel.”  I blushed and a smile creeped onto my face. I couldn’t believe that Joon sent me something. I wonder how he knew which house was mine, but being a wizard anything is possible. Duh anything is possible, I live in heaven, and I’m surrounded by Gods all the time. Anything in this world is indeed possible. I admired the rose some more and gave it a kiss….wait a kiss?! Oh no I thought as I blushed and smiled. I think Taemin is right…I just might be, just might be falling for Lee Joon.

An angel and a wizard….that’s certainly an interesting pair I thought to myself as I got into bed with the rose on my night stand and his note close to my heart as I drifted into dream land.
