Taemin POV:

“Onew-hung?” I asked in a quiet unsure voice. Onew turned and looked at me.

“Yes Taemin-ah?” Onew inquired.

“I still don’t understand……” I pouted at my older brother. Onew sighed and shook his head looking at me lovingly.

“I’ve told you so many times Taemin-ah. Its mothers wish that we go to a more diverse form of learning facility for our college years.” I pouted and looked down.

“But I liked the way my old elementary and high school was….I got along with everyone because we were all the same kind…” I pleaded starting to whine at my brother. I knew I sounded annoying, but Onew hyung loved me so much that he just laughed it off and didn’t seem to mind.

“I know Taemin….but I have to agree with mother on this one. I think it’s time you made other friends with people that aren’t like you don’t you agree?” Onew asked patiently. I just shook my head, still reluctant to see reason.

“But what if they don’t like me…” I said with a sad tone. Onew chuckled and rubbed my head putting a small kiss on my fore-head.

“Do not worry Taemin-ah. I’ll be here with you. Even though I’m a senior and you’re a freshman, ill come to you whenever you need me. You know how to call me.” Onew smiled at me.

“Yes…thank you hyung…” I said with a small smile. I clung to my brother as we stood outside the large University. I bet your wondering what’s going on, so it’ll be easier to explain if I back track.

*Flash Back*

My name is Taemin quite obviously, and I live with my brother Onew and my mother. However we aren’t really human per say, actually we are angles. Well me and my brother are angles; my mother is a goddess of the divine line. Where we live, heaven, there are many Gods and Goddesses of the divine line, and once they mate, we aren’t born Gods or Goddesses, we are born Angles, well created more like. Depending on how we do with our training in school, we are either destined to remain Angles and watch over many things in this world, or we become a God or Goddess. Our home is quite different then our neighboring town Olympus, where only Gods and Goddesses live, even the children are born Gods and or Goddesses. Despite our differences we all do get along quite swimmingly, but back to our story. I was sitting with my mother and brother at breakfast one day, my wings just sitting and resting as I enjoyed my cereal, but then my mother told me a very different and frightening revelation.

“My dear children?” My mother inquired earning both our attention.

“Yes mother?” we said together. She smiled at the respect and attention she received from us.

“I have news for you so listen carefully “she began. We both listened attentively.

“I have decided to enroll you both in M University.” She said with an Angelic smile. My spoon fell from my hands. M university?! Theee M University?! The school that’s more diverse than the clothes in my closet? (Yes Angles mostly wear white, sue me.). I couldn’t believe what my mother was telling us. I looked at my brother who seemed interested.

“Wow, mother that’s quite a revelation. Um may I inquire what brought along this decision?” Onew asked with the utmost respect. My mother nodded and smiled.

“Well, I have had the folly as a parent to send you both to an all Angle school your whole lives. I thought, maybe you would do better in this world not to be so sheltered. Thus my decision to send you both to M.University.” Onew seemed to like the idea but I didn’t… Onew spoke up.

“Oh mother, you are a wonderful parent, never dought that and I thank you for this opportunity to go through such an experience. Right Taemin-ah?” My brother looked at me, noticing how silent I was through the whole conversation. My mother looked at me hoping I would take to the idea, however I didn’t like it. I didn’t like it at all. Ive always been around other angles, and being around other beings of this world scared me, it scared me like no other. How could my mother betray me like that! She knew that I have always been a socially awkward child, and it was hard to even open up to Angles at times, but now she was sending me to a school that I knew I would be isolated in. I couldn’t believe it….I was unhappy. So unhappy that I stood up from the table. My cereal now soggy and unappetizing and just ran out the kitchen. My mother called for me.

“Taemin! Wait!” she called with panic in her voice but I didn’t care. I spread my wings and flew as far away from my mother and brother as I could, and ended up in the private gardens of my home. I sat on a cloud and began to cry. I cried so much that I didn’t feel a presence come behind me. I looked up to see my mother smiling warmly at me. How did she find me? I have barely been gone for a couple of minutes, but how could I even question the powers of a powerful goddess such as my mother. I looked at her with my red puffy eyes, and then turned back to the cloud to hide my face. I heard her angelic chuckle that sounded like chimes. She sat down, lifted me up, and sat me on her lap.

“Taemin-ah...” She cooed in a gentle voice. I rested my head on her chest, and played with her golden brown hair that cascaded down. I refused to speak to somewhat show rebellion; I just played with her hair and didn’t even look up. She chuckled and placed a kiss on my head.

“Taemin-ah, my precious jewel. I know you are frightened for this change, but I implore you to give it a try. You have been surrounded by Angles your whole life that I fear you are ignorant to the other worlds around. That is why I am doing this. I do not wish to upset you my precious…but I think this change will benefit you and your brother.” I looked up at her, and I couldn’t help but let out a small smile. I loved my mother more than anyone (next to my brother), and I knew she would never try to cause me any ill will; she only wanted the best for me. I wanted to argue, and beg her to send me to an all Angle University, but the look she was giving me was hope that I would just give it a try.

My silence was worrying her so she spoke, breaking me from my thoughts.

“Please my love, just give it a try for me?” she said in a patient and even voice. I thought about it, and snuggled close to my mother. I looked up at her once again and smiled, a bit bigger this time. I loved my mother and didn’t want to disappoint her, so I decided to try it, but only for her.

“Okay mother…I'll try it.” At that my mother smiled brighter than the sun itself (it would even put Helios to shame, the sun god from the neighboring town). My mother than pulled something from behind her. It looked like a uniform. Plaid checkered pants, a dark blue vest and a white button up shirt. I looked at the uniform, and then took it from her. She smiled and kissed my head.

“This is the uniform of the school, you will be attending. You will look so dashing my son.” I smiled at my mother’s compliment. I then proceeded to get up. I reached out my hand to her and we left back to our mansion. It’s kind of protocol for all Angles and Goddesses and Gods alike to live in mansion flats. As I flew with my mother, my mind wondered. What was my new school going to be like? Will I like it? Will everyone be nice even if they aren’t the same as me? Will I make any friends? Will I find love? So many questions, but I guess I was going to find out soon.

*End of Flash back*

Back to present day. I clung to my brother, not realizing how intimidating the school actually looked, but for mother I was willing to give it a try. I in a breath and followed Onew Hyung up to the school doors. We were then met with an usher. She smiled sweetly at us and spoke.

“Names please?” I left all the talking to Onew hyung since I hated talking unless absolutely necessary.

“Lee Jinki and Lee Taemin.” My brother always used his full name when it came to matters such as these. The lady smiled at us and nodded.

“Ah hear you are, the Lee brothers. Right this way gentleman.” She paused and then turned around again.

“Welcome to M.University!”

And that’s how I and my brother’s journey began; neither of us knowing what would unfold for us.
