Different sounds echoed across the dining room as the Oh family slowly ate dinner. The TV located not far from the table was on, but its volume was easily drowned out by the loud conversation between the only females in the house—Sena and Seongim. Han had wanted to watch the TV program that was airing—an Italian cooking show—but the women's voices made it hard to listen. The clanking from the silverware they were using didn’t help either.

“Seriously, how could you two be so loud?” Han finally snapped, pausing from his food before grabbing the remote from the side table. “You’re right beside each other and yet you still can’t keep your voices down.” Having lost interest in the TV program, he turned it off and huffed, all the while eyeing the two females who only chuckled. Han was vexed with the way the two females were acting, but he was level-headed.

Both Sena and Seongim knew this as well, as they paid no heed towards his sudden outburst. “Don’t you like it, Uncle? The dining table’s so lively, right?” Seongim grinned, making Han sigh in defeat.

Sena, on the other hand, clicked her tongue. “Stop being so uptight, dear. Look.” She then turned her head and eyed both Luhan and Sehun disapprovingly, causing the two to look back at her in confusion. “Both of our sons are becoming like you--timid and tensed.”

“We’re eating dinner and you expect them to be loud like you?” Han retorted. “There should always be silence at the dining table. Stop making them speak and let them eat in peace—“

“What?! Are you saying that I’m a loud person, Mr. Han?!” Sena exclaimed, looking at her husband in disbelief.

The old Chinese man stopped eating again and nodded, giving his wife a firm gaze. “And what if I say yes? Look at Luhan and Sehun--they’re always calm and civilized, unlike you who’s always worked up.”

Sena’s eyes widened as she felt her anger slowly boiling inside. Despite Han being level headed, it was apparent that he was displeased. Meanwhile, Luhan, Sehun, and Seongim continued eating, watching them plainly. The heated atmosphere between the two adults was one which always happened in the Oh household, so the younger ones found it normal. It would have been strange—a miracle even—if a single day went by without them constantly bickering.

Though it seemed normal, the three knew that it was also unhealthy. Being the oldest out of the three, Seongim decided to interrupt by changing the topic. “But Uncle, lately, even though the summer classes have already ended, Sehun goes out everyday to play, and whenever he comes back, he’d always look like a lovestruck idiot,” she said, catching everyone's undivided attention, especially Sehun's. Pausing from her food, Seongim raised her head and flashed a smirk towards the youngest before turning to both Han and Sena. “I think he has a girlfriend.”

In a split second, Han and Sena dropped both of their chopsticks on the table, making a clattering sound as they hit the plates. What followed was an agonizing silence that saturated the atmosphere. Sehun swallowed hard in anxiety, noting his parents' piercing stares. Seongim was also looking at him, but she had a sly smile on her face. The youngest Oh glanced at Luhan in hopes of receiving a helping hand, but it was of no use for the older male only stared back at him, expressionless.

“Is it true, Sehun…” Han started, breaking the silence. “That you already have a girlfriend?”

Sehun felt himself working up a cold sweat, not entirely sure how to answer. He wasn’t hesitating about introducing a girl to his family; rather, he deemed that it was not the right time. Thoughts of introducing Aerin to his family had crossed his mind. To be honest, he was already planning and thinking about when and how he was going to do it. Sehun didn’t want to do it half-heartedly, for his parents might think that he was just goofing off again like how he did in the past. He may have been in relationships before, but never--not even once--had he actually introduced a girl to his family. He never felt the need to introduce them since he was just playing around, but with Aerin, it was different. He wanted to show his family that he was serious about her. He wanted them to acknowledge her because she was the girl whom he loved.

Aerin was the only girl whom he loved and would want to spend the rest of his life with.

“I-I… uh… mom, dad—“

“You know, dear, we shouldn’t even ask. The answer’s already obvious.” Sena creased her eyebrows, shaking her head at Sehun, who only looked at her with large, innocent, confused eyes. “Knowing your kid, I bet he currently has two of them,” she said with a displeased tone.

Hearing his wife’s words, Han’s face scruntched up in thought as he eyed Sehun up and down suspiciously. “If that’s true…then I guess I should drop the idea of Aerin joining our family.” He then picked his chopsticks up and shook his head. “You’re just going to be a bad influence to her—“

“Oh, dear! You want Aerin for Sehun too?!” Sena suddenly exclaimed, turning to Han in delight. “I’ve been thinking of the exact same thing! How nice would it be if Aerin becomes my daughter-in-law?!”

Joining in on the conversation, Seongim nodded excitedly, completely disregarding the surprised looks plastered on both Luhan and Sehun’s faces. “Uncle, Auntie, I definitely approve of Aerin joining our family. I mean, she’s a really nice girl!” Seongim gave a two thumbs up. “She’s very elegant and well-behaved. Plus, she’s pretty, so if she were to be with Sehun, then surely your grandkids will look like flower boys and girls.”

Hearing his family approve of Aerin, Sehun couldn’t help but smile. He was hoping that once he introduced her to them, they would somewhat approve of her, knowing that Aerin was a family friend. Albeit, after hearing his family's conversation, it was better than what he had expected. The three had already liked Aerin from the start and had wanted her to be a part of their family all along. Surely, if they were to know that he was indeed dating Aerin, they wouldn’t think twice and accept her.

We really were made for each other, Sehun thought.

“I do want Aerin for Sehun and see my grandkids while I’m still young,” Han said, his eyebrows creasing as he eyed Sehun. “But I don’t think Heegun would approve of Sehun for her. This kid’s a bit troublesome.”

“Troublesome would be an understatement. He’s a troublemaker for Pete’s sake,” Sena replied while Seongim nodded. “Heegun knows and trusts Luhan well enough though.” She then turned to Luhan and stared at him.

“You think Mr. Kang would approve of Luhan as his son-in-law?” Seongim asked, turning to Han who paused.

“I don’t see any reason for him to say no, right dear?” he asked Sena as the latter nodded.

The smile on Sehun’s face immediately faded as he saw Han, Sena, and Seongim staring at Luhan with expectant smiles. They weren’t supposed to match Aerin with his brother; they were supposed to match her with him, not Luhan. Sehun knew that his brother was better than him in every other aspect by just a teeny bit, but when it came to being dedicated, no one was able to surpass him. So why were they rooting for Luhan now?

Sure, Heegun knew Luhan better, but Sehun was Aerin’s boyfriend. How could they possibly match Aerin with her boyfriend’s older brother?

Sehun was having a mental breakdown, thinking of ways of how to match himself with Aerin again. “B-but, Luhan-hyung’s busy with college—“ His anxiety only heightened more once Sena hushed him and turned back to Luhan with a smile.
