Bad Boy - Sistar

Official

Oddly enough, Aerin found herself waking up at the sound of her phone ringing loudly. With a buzzing pain going on in her head, she slid her hand across the phone’s screen and lifted it near her ear. “Hello?” No one answered. She then tried to speak again; albeit, the same silence met her. Bewildered, Aerin decided to look at the caller id, but upon seeing the screen, she didn’t know whether to feel stupid or not for there wasn’t a call in the first place. It was only the alarm ringing.

Opting to just ignore her stupidity, as well as the pain in her head, Aerin got up and entered the bathroom, doing her usual morning routine. She didn’t really want to get up yet and she was having a bad headache, but her consciousness was already alert anyway; it would be pretty hard and useless to sleep again.

After dressing up lightly for the warm weather, Aerin got out of her room and walked downstairs, only to see an empty dining room. She didn’t even have to look at the sticky note posted on the fridge’s door for she was already used to a silent atmosphere every morning. It was something that already became normal for her, so she just disregarded the situation and opened the fridge, hoping to find something edible for breakfast.

There were a few eggs and noodles which Aerin deemed to be enough; however, just as she was about to take hold of them, a sudden thought crossed her mind. I never set an alarm on my phone.

Just when she finally realized that unusualness, the door leading to the garage of the house suddenly opened, revealing a Chestnut Brown headed boy holding a few paper bags. “Oh, you’re already awake. Did you wait long?” Sehun approached the dining table, placing the bags on top before noticing Aerin who shook her head. “But did you see my note on the fridge?”

Raising an eyebrow, Aerin quickly closed the fridge’s door and eyed the blue note.

Aerin, I’m going back for a while since I forgot to bring the Dosirak[1] that dad prepared for us.

I already set up the alarm on your phone; it’s not good to oversleep, you know, so don’t be grumpy once you wake up! ( *^*)

Oh, and I’m going to use your truck. You wouldn’t mind, would you? I’ll be back real quick!

–Sehun

“I actually thought it was from dad,” Aerin confessed, feeling a bit bad for ignoring the note. “I totally forgot that he went to Jeju. Sorry.” Walking back to the dining table, she then took a seat as she watched Sehun grabbing a couple of spoons for them to use.

“It’s fine,” Sehun said, handing Aerin her spoon before taking the seat in front of her. “I already expected that much from you.”

Aerin gave him a stern look in response. “Should I feel insulted?” Sehun shrugged playfully, causing for the girl to snort. Taking a spoonful of rice from the plastic Tupperware laid out in front of her, Aerin’s eyes were then caught by the sight of a black plastic bag beside Sehun. “What’s that?”

Confused, Sehun turned to the direction where Aerin’s eyes were directed, only to have his widen. “The ice creams!” Although a bit alarmed, Sehun was then able to shove the plastic bag inside the freezer with a long sigh. “I bought ice creams for us since it’s pretty hot outside.” Going back to the dining table, he then smiled in response to Aerin’s questioning look. “And don’t worry, I bought chocolate for you and me.”

Satisfied with the male’s choice of flavour, Aerin nodded with a smile. “Let’s finish this then so we could finally have those babies.”

And they continued to eat in silence; no words were muttered and only the sounds of their spoons clicking against the Tupperware were heard. It wasn’t because they were on bad terms or anything alike, but the Dosirak made by Sehun’s father, Han, was just so heavenly for Aerin that she chose to concentrate on it. It had already been a long time since she was last able to eat his cooking, so she opted to take the chance to relish on its fine taste rather than to speak. Besides, she didn’t really have anything to say so might as well just focus on the breakfast.

On the other hand, it was entirely different for Sehun. Seeing the way how Aerin seemed so focused and unbothered with her food, he felt himself getting more and more anxious. No matter how hungry he was, he couldn’t eat properly, let alone taste the food out of apprehension. It wasn’t that he was nervous about her opinion of his dad’s cooking—he honestly couldn’t care less about that—but rather, there was something that had been bothering him the moment he woke up that morning that he can’t seem to stay put.

No matter how focused Aerin was on her food though, the unusualness of Sehun wasn’t missed by her. “If you have something to say then say it,” She said. “Don’t just stare like that, it’s kind of uncomfortable being watched while eating, actually.” Lifting her head from the table, Aerin peered over towards Sehun, checking if the male was offended by her words.

Fortunately, Sehun wasn’t, for he shook his head with a smile. “No, it’s nothing… it’s just,” his lips in deep thought, he then eyed Aerin’s lips. “There’s rice beside your lips.”

Sehun swallowed hard as he gnawed his bottom lip. He wanted to wipe the rice off from Aerin’s face; more so since he thought that after doing so, it would be a good chance to talk to the girl. His hands were trembling under the table, and he even already made up his mind to just do it. However, just as he was about to raise one of his hands, Aerin suddenly the side of her lips, managing to get the rice successfully.

“I didn’t see that,” Aerin said, running her thumb near her lips to check if there was still any trace of the rice. Upon confirming that her face was already clean, she then turned back to Sehun and gave him a smile. “Thanks, Sehun.”

Disappointed at himself for not acting sooner, Sehun clenched his hands under the table, all the while giving Aerin an awkward chuckle. “N-no problem.”

Their breakfast continued in silence again, and only when Aerin finished her food did the stillness finally break. It was weird for her to see Sehun’s food barely touched, especially knowing the male who eats rather heartily
